This is Maiden at their Pinnacle. They may sound more polished today, but they were still young and hungry here. And it shows.

bruce does revelations as a solo with ian anderson at cantebury cathedral. he started singing it away from the mike. comments said they could still hear him all the way to the back

One of my favorite performances. He sang Jerusalem there and it was legendary. My favorite live performance.

Saw Maiden live in 1986. Been to many more concerts since and that is still the best live show I have ever seen.

Saw them in Irvine 85 on their second time through the Greater Los Angeles area...I could not get Tickets to the Long Beach Arena show. I too have seen them multiple times...85 was my first.

LAD is definitely better than this version, although maybe lacking the drama of Bruce's injury. The camera work here was pretty questionable, staying on Dave during Adrian's solo, etc.

I saw Maiden perform this a few years ago which was awesome but now that they actually have 3 guitar players the downside was not seeing Bruce with a guitar.

The version from Live After Death - Long Beach Arena is better...only because you can hear Bruce playing. For some reason his sound was not picked up on this telecast/recording.

Thank you mentioning this. I think Bruce purposefully used this to strike back at Maiden critics. It is a beautiful piece of writing.

That was……….. 😮😮epic, I never saw Bruce carrying a guitar 🎸. Guys…. this is so epic. That’s why he hit his forehead and bleed 🩸. I think the press and the band hide that accident . Wow I don’t remember to hear nothing about it between the rockers at that time. Good reaction Keep it up

Maybe the lights were from Queen. They are also were in Rio in 1985 and this design is typical for Queen....

Could be. i know Queen were the headliner act right after Maiden performed. I can also recall a Brian May saying that Maiden should/could have headlined that night. And that Queen would have to put in one hell off a show to surpass Maiden their show and crowd interactions.

🤩👍💥💯🎼 *UPTHEIRONS* 🤘😎💙🎶 ...Dunno if it´s the best option to get suggestion in only through your "Special Way", rather than from an ´Average Joe´ viewers, who knows more often which versions are better in quality to react to...At least the versions from "Rock In Rio" gigs. ´Coz somehow those versions "captured on tape" are always quite messy sound - wisely, no matter what band is in question. ..

Documentary says Bruce hit his head on a Microphone... Also. I do believe this is when Rick Allen of Def Leopard had his car crash when he lost his arm. I believe def Leopard obviously has to cancel this BIG ROCK IN RIO FESTIVAL....
