So “Dearly Beloved” is the title theme song for the series. What you listened to was the “swing” version that was made specifically for the KH Rhythm game. Normally it’s a completely different style. Oh and a recommendation for a kingdom hearts song is Vector to the Heavens. One of my favorite songs from the series!

All the music (except Hikari) was composed by Yoko Shimomura. Hikari (or Simple and Clean in English) is traditionally used as the opening and closing song for a lot of the games, the instrumental version used in the Sora Smash trailer is from the original Kingdom Hearts demo movie when you sit on the menu for long enough. Originally composed by Utada Hikaru, but this version was arranged by Kaoru Wada. Fragments of Sorrow was originally used as the battle music for the final world in the original Kingdom Hearts. Dearly Beloved is the music that plays on the title screen of every Kingdom Hearts game, its basically the main theme. Almost every game has a new version of it, the one used here is the one from Melody of Memory, the current newest game in the series. Destati is a major theme that appears everywhere in the series in different ways, Fragments of Sorrow being one of its many variations. The version used in Smash is the one from the very first Kingdom Hearts trailer.

Fun fact, the first song you listened to plays in one of the very last cutscenes of Kingdom Hearts 3, which was the end to the first nearly two decade long story arc across multiple games and consoles. It is actually an orchestral rendition of the song that plays in the opening cutscene of the very first Kingdom Hearts game. While this version is played a few times throughout the series, it never hits as hard as at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3.

Simple and clean is one of the main themes in kingdom hearts and this one is the kh dream drop distance intro cinematic, as you said its perfect on a montage and what a montage it is. Also dearly beloved is the title screen theme and in kh3 is just majestic, hope you'll hear it with also "oscurità di xehanort forza finale" that is the REAL kh boss battle theme. And hope you can play the kh series that has like 10 games, just buy the all in one and the kh3 dlc that is essential to the story. Fun fact in kh3 there is a super good song made by skrillex called face my fears, skrillex in a disney game, that is something. What a long comment huh.

Actually the name of the song is hikari, not simple and clean. This version is orchestrated. Hikari is the Japanese version of simple and clean, and the orchestrated version is called hikari orchestrated instead of simple and clean orchestrated. In addition, hikari will play in kingdom hearts 1 if you wait on the title screen long enough. It will start to play while giving a brief preview of the full game.

Destati is typically seen as the series theme song, so they do usually remix it into some of the villains themes, and fragments of sorrow is just a shortened verision of it to be used as a battle themes for some important places in the series. and for reccomendations, i'd say "tension rising reapers revenge" from kingdom hearts 3, "darkness of the unknown" from kingdom hearts 2.5 and "the other promise" from kingdom hearts 2.5

This was the best way to end the DLC, no cap. I was so happy for those people who got him, I even looked at the reactions, I FELT IT... Seeing that face in Smash, Disney, sooo UNLIKELY, and Smash Ultimate, is definitely best crossover games I've ever played in my life. After all of those DLC reveals especially Sora, it's going down in the history of gaming, it has been a long road. Thank you Mr. Sakurai and everyone else who was involved in Smash.

The composer is Yoko Shimomura. Such an amazing and talented woman. She is one of the trinity of japanese video game composers (the other 2. Being Nobuo Uematsu and Yori Matsuda) KH's soundtrack absolutely slaps. Some other awesome ones to check out are Tension Rising, The Encounter, Roxa's Theme, Sora's Theme, Kairi's Theme, Dance to the Death, Vim and Vigor, Aqua's Theme, Darkness of the Unknown, The World that Never Was Map music (I can't remember the actual title right now), Dearly Beloved (KH3 version) Sanctuary, Simple and Clean I could go on lol but thats a good list for now haha

Kingdom Hearts is so great but pretty cheesy but the story is complex and convoluted is great. The music that got added in Smash is good but it does not have most of the best songs from KH in there. The songs and tracks in the games are bangers.

I'd love to see a let's play, if that's something you'd consider. "Hikari" (the Japanese word for "Light") is a J-Pop song by Utada Hikaru commissioned for the original Kingdom Hearts game as the Theme Song. I has an English version with different lyrics and a slightly different melody called "Simple and Clean." Between the two, the lyrics poetically reflect the juxtaposition between a couple being both intimately together and painfully apart-one of the key themes for the story. For the original game, Square Enix also commissioned an orchestra arrangement, which musically captured the dramatic yet romantic magic of the Disney brand-this is the beautiful music we listened to just now. "Hikari" is generally considered one of the main themes for the game. Although it's rarely used during gameplay (except for the beginning or end of a game), it's very common to use the orchestra performance for promotional multimedia. "Fragments of Sorrow," by Yoko Shimomura, is (as you noticed) a battle variation on "Destati." (Destati has a lot of variations.) In regards to the tangent about the Keyblade being the displacement or inversion of the crown, the director of the Kingdom Hearts series is also the character designer: Tetsuya Nomura. He's designed a ton of characters in Final Fantasy games (among other Square Enix games), including FFVIII, FFVIII, FFX, FFXIII, and FFXV. Needless to say, he's one of the best when it comes to unique and poetic character design. "Dearly Beloved," by Yoko Shimomura, is the main menu theme for EVERY Kingdom Hearts title, and each title has it's own unique version. Typically, it's slow and pretty, but the composer decided to make it a little more upbeat for the music rhythm game. You are correct that the Melody of Memory version is swung. In music, swing is basically where 2 eighth notes (half a beat) aren't evenly spaced, so the first one is slightly longer than the second. It's easier to look up a few examples of swing music than it is to describe to someone who's not familiar with swing.... Anyway, "Dearly Beloved" is also considered to be one of the franchise's main themes, and it's theme is often used as a motif in music throughout the series. "Destati" (Latin for "Wake Up" or ("Awaken"), by Yoko Shimomura, is the song used for the very first Kingdom Hearts trailer. (You should look up the Kingdom Hearts Beta Trailer from like 2001!) It's generally used as the theme song for the villain of the first game and the villain of most of the franchise. If you've ever played Final Fantasy XV, it's a foil to "Somnus" (also by Yoko Shimomura), which is the main menu theme/main theme for FFXV and also the song used for the very first FFvsXIII trailer. I'm not sure which version/performance you're listening to, but I recommend listening to one of the full choir and orchestra performances, either from Drammatica (which is a concert and album dedicated to composer Yoko Shimomura) or Kingdom Hearts Orchestra: World Tour. I also consider "Destati" to be one of the main themes for the franchise. While "Hikari" and "Simple and Clean" focus on the concepts of light and darkness, togetherness and separation, friendship and drama, and Disney magic, "Destati" focuses on the concepts of sleep, which implies dreams, which are found within hearts. When you think about it, all of these concepts are very common in classic Disney films, and Square Enix managed to realize this and capture it perfectly in the poetry of it's music alone! You don't even know how well these concepts are reflected in the story of the game! If you're wanting to react to more Kingdom Hearts songs, the only ones you should really need to worry about are the Utade Hikaru singles. If it's a typical part of the soundtrack, I'd expect you to be fine. Personally, all of my favorite music is from Kingdom Hearts 3. "Overture to the Decisive Battle" from the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra: Worlds of Tres album is an awesome medley of boss battle themes. (By the way, for the soundtrack, they basically took the performance from this album, divided it into pieces, and looped those pieces.) And "Dearly Beloved" from that same album (for KH3) is my personal favorite.

It's great to see music reactions again! If u plan on listening to more Smash DLC music then u gotta check out the Remixes from FF7 that Sephiroth brought such as Bombing mission, Aerith's Theme, Main theme of FF7, Cosmo Canyon, and Those who fight further because that guitar goes off! And then for other songs the Xenoblade 2 tracks are amazing and there's also smash remix called "F-ZERO Melody" But if I can recommend music not from Smash I'm gonna say The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles OST is a bop, The Pursuit Theme and my favorite "Partners ~ The game is afoot Arrangement" Keep up the fun content!

Someone on the original video said that this sounds like the song you'd see at the end of a movie while the credits roll before it fades to black, which I can totally feel. The last song added to the game, it sounds nostalgic to me, who has never played the games, and it's from a franchise so many people cried in happiness at seeing finally get into Smash. This is the song I can picture Sakurai sitting back, smiling in contentment after so much hard work and saying "my magnum opus".

If you don't listen to the openings songs (Simple & Clean, Sanctuary, Face my fears, Don't think twice), you should be okay ! (Give them a try off camera, the best way to listen to them would be to just watch the opening sequences of KH, for me) But if you want to make another video about KH musics, 4 to stick to the format, my recomandations would be : Vector to the Heavens The Other Promise Forza Finale/Oscurità di Xehanort And any other version of Dearly Beloved, It's the main title music, and there is one for every KH game (11 if I'm not wrong, maybe more xD) And if you really enjoy the music, KH have what to make at least 10 of thoses videos without having a song that's not TopTier, Yoko Shimomura the composer outdone herself in this franchise (and any other she worked on x)

Fragments of Sorrow is basically the shorten, battle theme version of Destati. That is why they are so similar. Dive into the Hearts, which you did not hear in this video, is the shorten, field theme version of Destati.

Yeah, if you ask me, they missed the mark with the some songs they picked. Most of the best music in the series is from KH2 onward. Not that KH1 doesn't have amazing music. It's just that some of the picks could have been replaced by much better songs and it would have represented the series better. The Other Promise, Tension Rising, The 13th Struggle, Rage Awakened, Dismiss, A Fight to the Death, Darkness of the Unknown, Scala Ad Caelum, Vim and Vigor, Rowdy Rumble, Guardando Nel Buio... I'd have to say that Fragments of Sorrow, Hand in Hand, and Dearly Beloved: Swing Version are my favorite tracks in Sora's Challenger Pack. Destati is a good track too. (Even though Dearly Beloved: Swing Version can only be obtained if you have save data from "Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory" on Switch.)
