HYBE ended Gfriend's contract to be able to debut a new group at the source music agency, so 3 of them signed at a new agency (VIVIZ). Yuju is a soloist, Yerin is also soloist and Sowon, the leader of Gfriend is an actress (she has said that she does not plan to debut because she already has her group) Gfriend and that they are not dissolved ❤️

VIVIZ love to sing live as they often sound better than the studio version. Music shows seem to discourage it but VIVIZ have hand microphones 🎤 for virtually every performance at festivals and concerts unlike many other Kpop groups who lip sync nearly everywhere. When they were in GFriend the backing track broke half way through the song and they continued singing a Capella right the way to the end of the song in an iconic performance. So they are really comfortable singing live especially with the energy of a live audience.

Yeah, all three girls are members of Gfriend. When Source Music (a subsidiary of Hype) terminated their contract, these three girls joined hands to start Viviz. They are used to singing live ever since in Gfriend. I agree the drum beat truly gives extra character to the performance here. Love them.

- gfriend is a 6 members group debuted in source music in 16 january 2015. - their company is very poor and in the brick of bankruptcy, they used to use a basement for office and practice room. - they even need to use umjis parents card to buy food bcs the company couldn't provide them enough. (Umji come from pretty rich family, her dad is ceo of pretty big dentist hospitals). - there are rumours they even soon to be disbanded if their first comeback fail, but miraculously they survive bcs their clips became viral for their hardwork and professionalism on stage in 2015. - its the start of their successful journey, they receive most of rookie awards in 2015 except for mama 2015 that goes to another group, twice. - their next comebacks got many awards, their music being top in charts, always invited to events, award shows, and year end performance. - In kpop 3rd gen there are a nick name for top groups. For boygroups there are EBS (Exo, BTS, Seventeen), while for girlgroup there are treblemayeo (Twice, Redvelvet, Blackpink, mamamoo and yeojachingu (aka korean name for gfriend)). -with all their success comebacks they can make their company move from the basement to decent building. They also move their dorms several time. -in 2019, a news come that with the successful of bts, bighit start to wanting a bigger scope business. And it start with merge their company with source music. It was well known that both bighit music and source music ceo are close friend. (They also have history to debuting a join girlgroup in 2012, glam, but the girl group disbanded bcs one member involve in blackmailing actor scandal) - In the start everything still doing well. They even realese 3 albums during 2020. And want to make a world tour concert but bcs covid-19 the plan got postponed. - in may 18th 2021, a news suddenly said that gfriend will end their contract in may 22th... It shock the whole fans bcs not only it was to sudden they also only got 4 days to proceed the news. It got too long i will continue in another comment..

- Buddy, gfriend fandom name, got suspicious bcs the news come up in tuesday, but just a day before, in Monday gfriend staff already post their weekly schedule like they always do. - there are some KZbin stuff to be uploaded and other schedule. But after the article released, the schedule just got deleted. Leaving the fans confused and angry. - the source music company stay still even when fans demanded an explanation. Why that happens. But they just make announcement about their fans membership, like for refunds, etc. - fans also claim that their gfriend contract was supposed to end in November 2021. There a whole 6 month for them to make a proper goodbye comeback or make any announcement, but the company didn't care. And just leave them with that one article. - it also suspicious bcs the members are spoiling something like when they will make a comebacks or release something. make it nonsense for them just suddenly disbanded. Some more info abt gfriend staff - The source music staff didn't know anything. There a whole news and KZbin vidio abt the sudden tragedy. Staff said they know nothing and also as confused and shocked as fans. - With gfriend contract termination, it also affect all the original staff that handle gfriend, bcs all the staff (it was 30+ staff I don't really remember the exact number) recorded leave the company. Unless about 4 choreographer that given by hybe to source music. It was unclear if they got fired or they leave voluntary. For the members : - Yerin is the first member to make a solo appearance after the tragedy. By signing as entertainer follow by sowon and yuju also doing solo stuff. And the last to make their announcement is viviz member, they shocked fans by suddenly appears as trio group when fans expected them to also doing solo. - members start talking a lil bit abt their experience in 2021. - The members also just got nottice by the company abt their contract termination about one month before the article realeased. There are no room for them to said anything bcs it was company decision. They all heartbroken and couldn't said anything to fans bcs company won't let them. There no exact explaination though, but one close friend from gfriend members (also in hybe under pledis ent) just said something like in company not all can be told to fans, and buddy suspect he was talking for gfriend. Why big hit/ hybe (also lesserafim) is also blame for gfriend situation, from my perspective. . - When source music merge with big hit, big hit gain 80℅ stocks of source music company. That means they can make a major decision for the company, They also make source music a "girlgroup only" Company and making them kick their male trainee in 2020. - big hit and source wanting to debut a join girlgroup. They open the audition way in 2019. And in 2020 almost all hybe artist posting/ doing something with a fairy wand, that suspected as sign for the new girlgroup. But it was unclear if lesserafim was the girl group in question or it was newjeans. - why it was unclear if it was NJ or lesserafim or another unreleased group, bcs there are major changing event like sakura and chaewon (ex izone) joining big hit, also min hee jin join hybe and given her own company. There also a transfer trainee from source music to ador ( min hee jin company).

Why fans was so mad to source music : - they abandoned their one and only money maker, without a proper explanation or given them a chance to said goodbye to their fans. - Source music in January 2021/ march I don't exactly remember, try to claim gfriend name. At first fans thinking it was good news as they may want to promote gfriend more. But it was actually for them to gain rights to monopolize gfriend name and making the members have a hard time to use gfriend name. - but fortunately, in 2022 , their efforts are futile bcs KIPRIS (Korean service to claim rights for brand) reject all source music efforts. It is mainly said bcs Gfriend is public known as 6 gg members, and it only can be approved if all the 6 members agreed to hand over their name rights to the company. - there also issue when fans try to claim refunds for membership, some fans got all their personal information leaked to public bcs source music mistakes. Source music also try to settle this matters by paid some compensation. But it still make the fans mad. Woo.. It's a long story. I am really sorry for that. But it's been so long for me to rant abt source music. And I really apologize again for me got loose and type long explanation. Though it's also may be incorrect info and missing some information.

@@fonvibestv lol.. I was a pretty hardcore buddy back then(probably still). Gfriend was probably my one and only gg that I really listen to even their bsides songs and any their projects like cover, ost, etc in kpop. So I naturally remember many things abt them 😅

Actually it’s been a surprise slow-burner. As usual I watched all their comeback shows, then the reactions, and then settled down with it on my playlist to wait for the next CB. Then I started noticing quite a few shorts of people doing the “Ongdong” shake, and even a few new reactions of Viviz and GFriend’s old works. And following it back I found out that during the last few months the hip shaking went viral, Maniac is still on the charts even if there were no music show wins, and quite a lot of people started discovering Viviz and by extension GFriend too.

The best way to learn more about the VIVIZ members is to watch one of the best guides to GFriend. I highly recommend both the videos “subpar guide to GFriend” and “Guide to GFriend 2020”. As VIVIZ are one half of GFriend the guide has a lot of information and video clips about the VIVIZ members. They are both very informative for new potential fans to the group and a great introduction to their cute, adorable personalities as well as their chaotic energy which makes them so entertaining to watch. Every member is a vocalist in their own right and this is showcased in the guides mentioned. If you go on to watch their reality series called Showtime Mamamoo x GFriend as you suggested in your last VIVIZ reaction you will find it really helpful to watch the guide first. I notice that you have already started getting used to Mamamoo so GFriend is the logical next step for you to get maximum enjoyment from the series.

The group GFriend was a k-pop diamond, the only group in which all 6 girls have beautiful voices. This group didn’t even have a rapper’s position, because they didn’t need it, because all their songs were melodic. The girls from GFriend were forced to break their contracts, this is due to the formation of the mediocre group Le Sserafim. But according to the court, they retained the name of GFriend and the entire heritage of the songs. Yuju and Yerin began solo careers, Sowon began her career as an actress and model, and Eunha, SinB and Umji created the group VIVIZ. But GFriend have not broken up and they still hope to reunite under the old name. P.S. And yep, I know - I'm nerd, but my eyes still hurt, maybe at least 360p?

mediocre really now, Im both a stan of these girl groups and a lot of others, i may understand your feeling as a fan when Gfrined disbanded, no need to say something like a mediocre esppecailly when that certain mediocre group you say just so bag a number of awards, this year alone you may not like them but sheesh just respect only, i may have a stronger opinion and i do rank them on my list since they are way to many to follow now these days, but i try to keep my opinion to myself instead and try to make my comment as neutral as possible, just remember you are not the only fan for this certain groups, and they have all have good qualities each of their own,

4:58 correct pronounce -Shin-Bi (ㅅ - siot before iotated vowels is read as Sh) 5:19 correct pronounce - Een-hA (Een - long and hard as in the word clEAN, second syllable - barely audible h with emphasis on A) 5:22 correct pronounce - Om-ji VIVIZ - correct pronounce - Bi-Bi-Ji, in the Korean language there are no pure sounds V and Z. The name of the group is made up of the second syllables of the girls' names Bi-Bi (from two Eun-bi, real names Eunha and SinB) and Ji from Um-ji (real name Yewon).

Viviz have no positions. There's no main dancer or vocal like they did in Gfriend since they said they want to keep VIVIZ more equal and that they'll keep the positions for GFRIEND. Also the names are pronunced as SHIN-BEE , UHN-HA and OHMJI
