They probably did. Almost everyone already knew they'd be making a F4 movie after the buyout, but no one knew when. The significance of this reveal is that it "confirms" that they're going to be a part of Phase 4, and that the movie will be next after Guardians Vol. 3 meaning a 2023 release.

My theater lost its collective mind when Cap said Assemble. The floors shook and my wife lost her mind and she NEVER does when watching a movie. That was a theater experience like no other. Pure thunder in that room. Thor would be proud.

@april vanderwall The Eternals are not that famous like Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, mutants or FF, only people that read comics know them, but their stories are not that amazing like an Avengers comic or a Spider-Man comic, they are really unknown, even they were dead for years, now they are taking more fame because the movie, just for that.

To be fair, Marvel Studios announced Phase 4 plans at 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, 2019 D23 Expo, and 2020 Disney Investor Day, so none of this was new except release dates, some of the footage, and the subtitle for Black Panther 2.

This is the most beautiful, exciting, amazing, emotional trailer I have ever seen, and that's coming from the heart of a 66-year-old. I'm writing this three days before Marvel triumphantly returns to the big screen with BLACK WIDOW. Using the fabulous and sorely missed Stan The Man Lee, voice is inspired, and makes me cry. The film lineup is worth the wait, the pain, the hardships of the last year and a half. FOUR Marvel movies before the end of the year, culminating in the next SPIDER MAN for a Christmas present! And then we really get into Phase Four.....and speaking of Phase Four.....FANTASTIC FOUR! Back at Marvel where they belong! I'm so happy.

After seeing and reading about the official announcements of the new Phases 5 and 6 of the MCU'S newly named Multiverse Saga, rewatching this trailer and the reactors' reactions hits very differently now because we're nearing the end of Phase 4 with the last scheduled movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, to cap it off. It's been a long, hectic, emotional, and exciting journey and I can't believe it's here. And after that, comes the first movie to start off Phase 5 that I'm definitely super hyped about, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. I'm so happy!!! I wonder if Marvel will release a new promotional trailer using the current Phase 4 movies and series and a complete list of all the announced Phase 5 and 6 projects to expect, it could definitely top this!
