It's clear why Punk continues his actions-just remember all of the details. Before the Rumble, they had a promo where Drew expressed his dislike for Punk due to past issues and stated he didn't want him in WWE. At the Rumble, Drew injured Punk. He then mocks him on Raw, and attacks his injured arm. While Punk goes away for rehab, Drew continues to insult & mock him on Raw & Online over the following months leading up to Mania. After Drew wins at Mania, he immediately taunts Punk, threatens to permanently injure him if he returns and did the "Suck It" motion right in his face. Punk finally erupts, attacking Drew and costs him the Title. Drew's obsession and hatred for Punk have driven these events, and in retaliation, Punk has vowed to keep Drew from becoming champion. This is excellent writing and storytelling.

Granted, I would've preferred if he did it right before Drew's hands were inches from Mitb briefcase and Punk would've thrown him off the ladder and proceeded to beat him up and somebody else should've won that MITB briefcase but I guess they did it to also setup Seth(Triple H's favourite wrestler) vs Punk for the future. Now Seth is probably gonna screw Punk in Punk's first match against Drew whenever he returns

How is Punk the bad guy in this? The last time we saw him, Drew had bloodied him in his hometown, and took his bracelet. Drew bragged about injuring him, and Punk vowed that Drew would never get the title as long as he's breathing. Drew is bringing it all on himself. Drew bragged about it for months leading up to WM40. And even when he won, he threw it in Punk's face, which caused Punk to cost him the title with Damian cashing in on him.

Dave and Mark thinking Drew is the victim are both wrong and missing the point of this story. Drew spent weeks, months gloating about injuring punk, saying he prayed for it, taking away wrestlemania from him, stealing his bracelet. Cm punk even said when PUSHED he is satan himself. Drew pushed him over and over and now Punk, the self proclaimed pettiest man in wrestling, is hell bent on making Drews life a living hell. A classic case of f around and find out, dialed up to 11.

On the crazy rare times someone doesn’t kick out can’t we just call it bad officiating and not over analyze it? Terribly obvious bad calls happen in officiating every real team sport even with instant replay.
