Czy tylko ja mam wrażenie że muzyka która według tego zestawienia była i jest popularna w Polsce zmieniła się i to bardzo na gorsze? Kiedyś piosenki miały tekst, piękne wykonania a teraz to jakaś sieczka z audiotune. Oczywiście nie mówię o prawdziwych wokalistach czy zespołach które poza tym zestawieniem istnieją- ale jeśli to są najpopularniejsze kawałki... to przepraszam ale coś poszło nie tak.

The man with dark glasses and a full head of hair is Zbigniew Wodecki, one of the best voices on the Polish stage of all time, also a violinist. I think that if he had been born in the USA and had been a little lucky, he and not Sinatra would have been nicknamed "the Voice". Privately, a warm, extremely modest and witty man with a huge distance from himself and his popularity. He came from and lived in my city Kraków. His grave is also here, he died in 2017.

1. Thank you for the video - really :). You've reminded me quite a few songs over there :). 2. When I look to my right, I see a collection of 20 CD's of only one bang called Budka Suflera, yes 20 CDs. That's just a tip of an Iceberg what you touched in those videos - yes, I'm aware, it's just KZbin algorithm you took into consideration ;). But, there's far more songs you can fall in love with from Polish bands. 3. If you'd like to check something older, you have Czerwone Gitary - Ciagle Pada, or more Rock version by Lizar of the same song. If you like Rock, O.N.A is a great band to look into, they have quite a few albums. If you can't find it, try "Kiedy powiem sobie dosc". I could name far far more, but, let's try from more modern music like PAWEŁ DOMAGAŁA - Weź nie pytaj. To sum-up, Poland has GREAT library where you can listen only to Polish music from folk like disco polo, pop, pop rock and rock up till 2000, later less, but as well rap, hip hop and many others. I can name even metal, heavy metal to go out of the regular ones. If that would not be enough, the lyrics, the older the better. Some are SO amazing and give you things to think about like in the signing poetry bands, tourist songs and more. You can't in one video give back the reaction to most popular songs in less then 10 minutes :D. It's maybe a 10% of most popular songs - I can agree with that. :)

I wonder how that sounds to people who don’t understand the meaning of the lyrics. The beat sometimes is better, sometimes not so much, but especially with the pre Y2K songs the lyrics are an absolute masterpiece. Deep and beautiful meaning, sometimes about love, sometimes about war, sometimes about just all the life. Maybe you can find those ones you liked with English subtitles added, although there’s a lot of metaphors etc. too so it can be tricky. Also, our female singers voices from the 80’ were some of the best 😍 very specific type of voice, often theatrical, but absolutely mesmerizing

Curiousity: in Poland we got a popular singer Natalia Kukulska, whose mother was also famous singer(with dad being composer) - Anna Jantar and is on that list under *"Tyle słońca w całym mieście"* and *"Nic nie może wiecznie trwać."* titles. It is extremly sad curiousity, but especially that song is like her own prophecy of her death. It was not much more than year, since "Nothing last forever" , when she died in plane crash, because she tried to come back to her daughter(that especially when younger was almost copy of her mother) for her birthday. Natalia became famous singer in Poland and even herself is known most from cover of her mother *"Tyle słońca w całym mieście"* song. 😢 Always hearing "Nothing last forever" feel like something suddenly chokes me. Even if my favourite song by Anna Jantar is "Za wszystkie noce[daj mi tylko jeden dzień]". And all of that with me barely listening to anything Polish since late 90s, with VERY few exceptions, as rock/metal 34 years old woman. Older polish songs just got SOUL and on that list since 1998, 90% was torture for me. 🫣 Ps. That's why I listen 80s rock.😂 How I despised progressing of that list as Polish myself since 1998 with it being SO BAD... 😅😶

You should watch "Legendy Polskie Allegro". It's a series focusing on polish legends such as Twardowsky, The Wawel Dragon, Baba Jaga etc. If I recall correctly, all the videos have English subtitles available. They also made some banger covers of older polish songs.

"Jest taki samotny dom" is a masterpiece both musically and lyrically. Absolutely stunning and moving song. Also, snippets picked like this don't properly highlight the songs you're supposed to get familiar with this way. The context of Poland's history and the lyrics (we're historically a very poetic nation) make all the difference. A lot of those performances were live ones or of lower quality than the original piece. If you'd ever like to make a more nuanced video I'll gladly help with samples and the significances of which eras.

As a Polish person the absolute best song ever was Wehikuł Czasu (To Byłby Cud) by Dżem because it's my favorite band and my favorite song ever and I've seen "Skazany na Bleusa" which is a movie based off the band but mainly about the leader who's name is Ryszard Riedel and they were famous in the 80's and 90's but unfortunately he died in 1994 due to overdose my dad and I both love the band and the specific song and the mogie. My mom doesn't like the movie because it has a sad ending. But I would recommend watching it with English subtitles. Also the movie was made in 2005. I went to see them perform like 2 years ago (yes Dżem still plays for Ryszard Riedel for people to never forget him. But they are obviously old now and half of them are new members and I didn't really like their version of the song because they changed it up a bit, the og version is better but I am happy I got to see them perform that songl) I overall just love Dżem. ❤

Most current ones seem to be "most popular music videos" rather than "most popular songs". You rarely hear those on the radio, but a lot of men watch them because of the combination of hip-hop and young dancing women. You would need to check which one topped radio charts for the longest periods of time in a given year to see the best songs in the last few years. Eska radio in Poland makes a top list for each year based on that, and each top chart is based on voting by listeners. So it would be more representative.
