@thomasturski28372 ай бұрын
This list of songs is a very distorted image of Polish pop and rock music: 1. This is a list based on the number of views of songs on KZbin - common access to the Internet and KZbin began in Poland in the mid-2000s - songs from before 2005 are songs watched on the basis of nostalgia - 10, 20, 30 years after they were really popular - most of them were known and listened to by all of Poland. 2. After 2005, it was more about current viewing of songs, often KZbin was the main place where fans repeatedly played their favorite songs - because of this, half of the songs after 2005 were not the most popular songs in Poland (I don't know half of these songs), but the most popular among the recipients of Polish KZbin 3. There have always been parallel trends and genres in music, in Poland too. Different people listened to different music - until 1980 Polish rock music had very limited access to the Radio (4 channels) and Television (only two channels), releasing records was also very limited - the song Budka Suflera in list above, is a version recorded after 20 years - in 1975 it did not have a television recording - because rock bands were not invited to television and there are practically no video recordings of rock music from that period apart from a few exceptions (SBB).

My favorite Polish band is Maanam with my favorite female vocalist Kora. Look for their more moody, mysterious works like albums "Nocny Patrol" or "Się Ściemnia". or songs "Lucciola", "Owady podniosły skrzydła do lotu". Lyrics are very deep, mysterious, often touching esoteric, on feminine side. They've been very innovative in 70s and 80s on Polish scene with nice bass solos. Good music ended in 90s IMHO. From that period I like bands "Varius Manx" and "Goja".

We do not have some Disney songs in polish version but full dubbing with full soundtrack. So actually nobody in Poland knows English version of those songs. Also our translators are so good that many times they give into the context polish jokes which are more connected with our reality and type of humor than American.
@vanillablossom2 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say nobody knows the original Disney songs, they are just less known and less popular, but at least from the last decade if not longer people do know English versions. And one could even listen to Spanish version of "Let it go", as the native language / 1st language of the songs' creators is Spanish (not sure if the Spanish version isn't actually the original one then) and it was fairly popular, too. With current access to the internet I do believe other Poles are also rewatching videos like "song xy in 20 languages", though I think that's pretty niche thing to watch. While I mostly agree with what you wrote, I think the statement "nobody in Poland knows English versions of these songs" is false, unless you mean Disney songs from before the internet became accessible for many in Poland specifically. But the newer ones, no, sure thing no, people do listen to the English ones, too. As more people use English in their everyday life generally, like you and me today. About the translators, it's more about regular movies / animations, not musicals, and well, Bartosz Wierzbięta who translated Shrek for dubbing did put many puns at situation, politic in Poland back then or Polish culture and apparently it became bigger hit in Poland than expected because of that, he's a legend, but with the time puns at what was current back then sometimes can get sour or feel really old / make the movie feel old instead of timeless, so such strategy can backfire, too.
@MaraMara892 ай бұрын

This whole list is just a confirmation that music in Poland and the world, if it hasn't ended already, is heading in a very bad direction (at least the popular one). Older music is excellent, currently it's a nightmare to put it mildly, and on top of that there's disco-polo that makes me feel sick. If you're asking about Polish versions of Disney songs, it's true that although it's currently very strange and downright mentally ill, it must be admitted that Edyta Górniak sang the song to "Pocahontas" better than the original version.

Bez przesady, większość tego z lat 80. to jakiś dancingowy szajs.

Bzdury totalne piszesz.

Skolim and most of the other upbeat songs on this list are from disco polo genre, it's basically Polish version of eurodance and in Poland you either love it or hate it
@inka17802 ай бұрын
Disco polo is NOT polish euro dance. We had polish Euro dance (Stachursky, I&I, United, Kasia Lesing...). Early disco polo is based on italo disco style.

Kocham powspominać te piosenki ❤❤❤

It's not euro-pop, it is disco polo - one of the most primitive kind of music 🙄

I'd suggest listening to all these songs in full. Worth it most of them

komodo to nie jest polski zespół są tam polacy i ta tancerka jest polka komodo is not a polish band, there are polish people there and this dancer is polish
@n0rmal_2 ай бұрын
