I totally agree with you, Laurie. My heart belongs to Avi, but in many ways Matt is a better fit for the group. I think we were all sorry to see Avi leave Pentatonix, but Matt has truly proven what an excellent vocalist he is! This is one of my favorite Matt songs. He is truly a MASTER of the bass slide - where he slides effortlessly down an octave or so on the same note - maintaining absolute perfect pitch all the while! I have heard Mitch do the same thing in a much higher octave - also truly amazing - but to me there is something about that low bass that just really gets to me! Hey James! Thank you so much for the comment. I would love to talk more about the recording setups they use 🤘🏼 From what I’ve read their recording setup is pretty straightforward! Which shows how awesome they are! In my first video of theirs I reacted to, Hallelujah, I mentioned that the compression was a little high for my taste. Just an observation, but I unintentionally offended many of their fans 🥺 I got maybe a hundred or so comments saying that they use no compression or any effects of any kind. Now I’m a bit worried to make comments about the recording process. I intended no offense, compression is probably one of the most common tools used in the studio but people got pretty upset. Any idea why a number of Pentatonix fans responded this way? Thanks again James!!

The song Lonely is based off of the bands singers experience with suicidal thoughts after getting abused by their father and their father leaving them when he was younger!
