It’s the record labels that block, and I’ve heard the same thing about Pink Floyd yet all the videos from them got blocked. The record labels have an automated system that scans videos, it’s not reviewed by anyone it just gets scanned and blocked. Every label does it. Oh well 😣

Queen was the first band to have all of its members inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame! Each member wrote hits and because their musical styles varied it's hard to place Queen into any one genre.

The bass on this song is insane! All you need to know about Queen is that they are the greatest band ever, and Freddie is the greatest frontman ever. But, here are some additional tidbits: all four are college graduates, and Brian May, the guitarist, actually has a doctorate. And, all four have written number one songs and are in the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. The band is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Try Save Me and Somebody to Love live in Montreal, Live Aid, It’s Late, Stone Cold Crazy. Freddie also did an album with opera diva Montserrat Caballe that is worth checking out, particularly Barcelona.

It took me showing my mom the liner notes for this song to prove to her that it was NOT a cover song! That it was an original by Freddie. She was certain that it was a 50's/60's track! That's how good of a job Queen did in paying homage to the 50's rockabilly vibe of Elvis and others. Just a great rock number! Can't help but groove along (especially with that bassline!! Thanks John Deacon!)

Freddie's tribute to Elvis. " Crazy Little Thing Called Love' took me five or ten minutes. I did that on the guitar, which I can't play for nuts, and in one way it was quite a good thing because I was restricted, knowing only a few chords. It's a good discipline because I simply had to write within a small framework. I couldn't work through too many chords and because of that restriction I wrote a good song, I think." - Freddie Mercury

50 & 60's vibe. Good song! Groups & singers back then put all they had in their music and performances. They acted like they cared. It's not so much that way now. Muisc back then was fun, emotional & was a way to escape for a while. Why my favorite music is from the past. And is an expression, art!

Yes this is a tribute to Elvis Presley with a Grease vibe! Elvis died in 1977 .. Grease was released in 1978 .. Crazy Little Thing was released in 1979. Freddie admired Elvis tho his biggest idol was Jimi Hendrix. Freddie said “When Jimi died I was devastated.” I think the best live version is at Live Aid 1985 but do Queen’s full 20 min set, please! 🙏🏻

About a year ago I first watched you react to Pentatonix whom I had just discovered and fallen for. I now decide to come back to see what you are up to these days, only to find you with Freddie and Queen - my group since July 1975 , when a radio DJ went against company policy (BBC Radio One), and dared to play Bohemian Rhapsody on air. I was fifteen at that time and since then, Pentatonix are the only group ever to come close enough in talent to considered his equal. I love that you also love both of those legendary powerhouses. Hi, from Scotland.

"Queen" is a very deep rabbit hole. A few lesser known "deep cuts" I recommend are "The Prophet's Song", " '39", and "Good Company" which were each written by Brian May (lead guitarist). "The Prophet's Song" is one of their most prog sounding songs, with very creative vocal effects & harmonies. " '39" is a sci-fi tale with a folk feel. In "Good Company" Brian May simulates a Dixieland band with his guitar (it's amazing!).

This song encompassed exactly what Freddy wanted - tribute to Elvis - i also wondered at one point if this was an Elvis cover. Can't wait for you to do more Queen - they have such a range of different types of songs and were one of the biggest bands in the world. I often couldn't wait to go to the local pizza place as a kid and play "We will Rock you"/"We are the Champions" (one play on the jukebox). Later on their music was a great part of several movies - Flash Gordon (Flash - Ahhh!) , Highlander (Who Wants to live Forever), Revenge of the Nerds. I watched MTV playing Live Aid and saw them as part of that. Their Greatest Hits was probably the most played CD in my car when it came out.

Of course we can, but how can we identify anything in life if we dont compare examples? It’s not a bad thing, it can elevate each thing(s). That’s the basic principle of yelp, compare things so we don’t use our time and energy on things that don’t deserve it. That’s how I’ve come to choose the bands/groups I’ve listened to, by selecting ones that compare GREATER to their counterparts😊

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, there's was a 1950s rockabilly revival in England, paying tribute to Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly, etc. Queen captured that old-school rockabilly sound in this song. An American band called the Stray Cats crossed the pond to England during this time, where they first hit it big in 1980, with retro-sounding rockabilly songs like "Rock This Town" and "Stray Cat Strut." Then the Stray Cats' success crossed back over the pond to their native U.S. and to many other countries all over the world.

Sir Dr. Brian May the guitarist also has a PHD and is an astrophysicist. John Deacon the bass player has a degree in electrical engineering and built the Deacy an amp he gave to Brian as he loved the way it made his guitar sound. Roger Taylor the drummer and falsetto back up singer has a biology degree. The late Freddie Mercury the lead singer, piano player had a degree in graphic arts. All four were educated, professional musicians and all wrote hit songs and are in the songwriting hall of fame as well as the rock’n’roll hall of fame for their music contributions all over the world.

They are 4 gifted musicians with different tasts - that is why they are so versatile. They are all songwriters and have written #1 hits - are enrolled in Songwriters Hall of Fame. The band is voted the best band with The Beatles second. Freddie is considered the best rocksinger of all times. - you have 200 titles to look forward to. They were together for 20 years til Freddie died - Brian and Roger is still together - now in their seventies. And play sold out venues - stadiums etc. nice reaction.

The reason you find the singers and bands of the 70s and 80s and 90s so much more entertaining is because they were. You have to understand what has been done to music by the record companies, producers and AI. They have virtually wiped out bands because a single artist is easier to control. They go with an artist who really has little talent but, looks good. They can cover up his lack of talent with auto tune and computerized instruments rather then real playing. It has become all fake and when they go on the live shows they really lack personality because they are so controlled and have to keep the cover of their lack of real talent. Also any real creativity and ability is ground out. It is known that they use the same 4 chords on songs and just put them in different order and add words to it. Which is why so many songs sound the same today. The artist does not really write anything now. Some is due to money but, the reason they are losing money is because they are not putting out any real talent and ideas. It's all rehashed so teens and young adults are not listening or buying. But, the corporate idiots that be cannot figure this out. Some is also due to laziness. They don't want to bother with developing real talent and groups, they don't want to hassle with people who are creative and opinionated. Or with rehersals like when people do real playing on real instruments and real singing. So you get zombie acts. There is good music and live performers in Alternative music. But, alternative does not get alot of play and is a best kept secret from the public. So the next Freddie Mercury or Robert Plant is never seen or discovered.

5:16 Don't bother, my guy. You can't think of anything to compare it to because there isn't anything. Queen is an utterly unique band. Trying to find a comparable sound or fit the band into a specific genre will only frustrate you. I'm a few months late to your reactions so you have probably figured that out by now. I guess I'll find out as I watch more reactions. I'm sure you already know this as well, but you are on a journey down a deep, deep rabbit hoe...and it's going to be great! Subbed.

You’ll learn….there is no ‘Queen type song’. These guys just played great music. They defy genre.

If you want a longer song, but also admired, despite not being released as a single, you should listen to The Prophet's Song. Composed by the Queen guitarist for the album A Night at the Opera (1975), the same one that contains Bohemian Rhapsody, the song is a true work of art. (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqvHm4CCgLCXnc0)

Really reminds me more of Ricky Nelson than it does Elvis....but very few can compare to Freddy Mercury!

Queen. Is touring now….huge shows…with Adam Lambert as vocalist. If you can score tickets I would. Queens set at Live Aid is iconic. A must watch (Zeppelins was not. It did not go well. I urge you not to watch it. Disappointment will follow)
