*DISCLAIMER - PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO* At the time of my filming this video, I didn't know that the date coincided with that of Jonghyun's passing. I found out just before I started editing for the day. After talking it over for a while with others in my discord - especially Karen, who made this request this month - I decided that I would go ahead with posting it, with the addition of these disclaimers. This decision wasn't made lightly and the last thing I want to do is be disrespectful towards his memory. However, through that conversation and through comments I've seen on previous videos from many of you, what I've gathered is that for the most part you all just want his life and talent to be celebrated and appreciated. I'm hoping that this video of me enjoying and being continually impressed by Jonghyun and the group as a whole can be seen as a part of that appreciation. And maybe, for some of you it can bring a smile to you while we look back on these incredible songs and music videos. I understand that not everyone will be able to watch this, nor necessarily want to, and that's completely okay, of course. I simply hope that this might be a tiny little bit of light to some of you during this time that otherwise I can only imagine must contain a lot of pain and sadness. It s absolutely fine, we actually are glad that people react and get to know them. Jonghyun worked hard and wanted people to tell him he did well, that was his last request, and therefore people need to watch, listen and read his works. Hi, didn't watch your reactions yet, but I've watched your disclamer, and I wanna thank you, as a Shawol today, for taking time to make this decision, and treating this with the uttermost respect. I also wanna thank you for asking around and I'm so glad that you can enjoy and appreciate SHINee and Jonghyun's work happily and, like you said, celebrate his life rather than.... like i've seen countless times now, dramatically brings everything back to his passing. I can't speak for others, but Jonghyun's passing really hit me hard, but the one thing that makes me happy is seeing people enjoying his work still. So I second the opinion on posting this. I completely understand you didn't know, but I think it's really heartwarming for you to address it and put out the disclaimer. This is a beautiful way to remember his legacy, and once again I still recommend you see his solo works as well. But thank you, thank you for this video. It really makes me sad that every Shinee video with the 5 members is flooded with “I miss you Jonghyun” and other comments full of grievances. Everyone knows it was a tragic thing to occur and no one is denying that they miss him. But just seeing those kinds of comments every single time... it just doesn’t feel right. Obviously Shinee isn’t going to be the same without him, but shouldn’t we be appreciating and celebrating all the amazing things he accomplished instead of always being reminded of his passing? He shouldn’t be remembered as the idol who suffered and lost his life to depression, he should be remembered as the wonderful artist, singer/songwriter who devoted his life to his group, music, and brothers. Instead of crying about the fact that he’s no longer here, how about we smile over the fact that he made so many memories doing what he loves best with those he loved the most.

This is a wonderful way to pay tribute to someone who helped so many. Honestly, your reactions are my first time watching anything SHINee related since his passing and though it’s been hard to watch, it’s helped bring out such good memories I have of them over the years. So thank you for this!!

SHINee's "Married to the Music" is also from 2015 and it's supposed to be fun and upbeat, because they are "Married to the Music" The MV has a very "Rocky Horror Picture Show" vibe, and it's just about as iconic of a cult classic as that movie as well. As others have probably mentioned, In the MV the girl in the wedding dress was collecting the best body parts from each of the members to create her ideal man. She burned Minho's head because what she wanted was his body. She used fire because Minho's nickname is "Flaming Charisma" because of his passion for sports and his need to always win. Minho has the best body of the group so, she took Minho's body, Key's head, Onew's nose, Taemin's eyes and Jonghyun's lips (for obvious reasons. LOL). Then at the end she spliced them all together and formed her perfect guy. If you notice, in the end credits you see a person that has been created from all of the members' body parts which is supposed to be the guy the girl created. In other words, music is a very fickle girl and she controls your life by picking and choosing the best parts and mashes them together to create the perfect song. LOL. Their outfits and hair are supposed to look like they are dressed for a retro Halloween party. If you want to see the choreography better you should watch the performance version MV or a live comeback stage, and if you do, you might notice their bow ties look like bats and their hats have witches fingers, etc. It's supposed to have that fun, campy horror/comedy look and feel. "Married to the Music" is considered a Halloween must watch within the fandom and most of us make this MV part of our Halloween tradition every year. However, this song and MV came out in August, nowhere near Halloween. Halloween isn't really a big deal in Korea and it has only been in the last few years that Koreans have started to celebrate Halloween by holding costume parties. Halloween in Korea is pretty much a western culture transplant. But, the middle of summer is horror season in Korea. Koreans say they like to watch scary movies and shows in the summer because it gives them chills which cools them down when it is hot. So, that's probably why they came up with this concept for "Married to the Music" as an August comeback theme. SHINee is known as one of the very first groups to ever dress up in full costume for Halloween. They first did it for a fan meeting. Which gave Lee SooMan (the founder of SM) the idea to hold a costume party. Now SM is known for holding one of the largest costume parties every year. As part of the party there is a costume contest and the person with the best costume wins an all expenses paid vacation trip. Key is very competitive when it comes to fashion, costumes included, and the last time he attended the Halloween party he won. He came as Voldemort from Harry Potter. I didn’t want to weigh in in the discord because, as a non shawol, I didn’t want to take away from what they had to say, but I think you handled it perfectly. Though, I don’t call myself a shawol, I’ve always loved Shinee’s music, and as I’ve followed SNSD I’ve come to learn a lot about the boys through their interactions, which led me to research more about them themselves. The way to honor Jonghyun's memory is to watch him in everything he did throughout his career and to react to his music and listen to his songs. So, go ahead and react to as much SHINee content, and even Jonghyun's solo work, as you can. It's OK if it makes us a little emotional sometimes, but the way to get to know him and SHINee better is to really spend some time getting to know them as the amazing performers that they are. All Jonghyun ever wanted was to make people happy through his work and to influence the world with his songs and lyrics. So, honor him by discovering what an amazing person he was and seeing exactly what he wanted people to remember him for. Yes, it's sad, but you don't necessarily have to make it that way if you just appreciate his work for what it is and live in the moment. His final words to the world were "Tell me I did Well." And that is what we fans try to do. By continuing to watch and listen to his and SHINee's music and appreciating the hundreds of clips of him we are lucky enough to have with SHINee as a group of 5, we are showing Jonghyun that, yes indeed, you did well and your life will forever be meaningful to thousands of people. You will never be forgotten Jonghyun, you did well.

First off, this is the perfect way to commemorate Jonghyun. Through music, which was his greatest passion 💞 You missed '1 of 1'! A must-watch & listen, and a key piece of the SHINee puzzle. Maybe you'll get to it in the next video? This era was when SHINee reeeally hit their stride. View in particular. All of the members, but most prominently Key, say this is their fave song they've released, and state that View was the turning point for them, in terms of them really getting to have a say on what direction they wanted to go with their music & how. They all voted unanimously that it should be the lead single for their 'Odd' album. It's probably one of their most popular songs ever. It brought a new genre & style to the k-pop scene. It's definitely in the Top 5, maybe 10 for me. Married to the Music was the follow-up, and they just had fun with it. The MV has become an iconic Halloween vibe! If you listen to to the song without the MV though, you'll really start to appreciated the vocal rollercoaster that it is. Ad-libs & harmonization galore! I love how you said you have whiplash, because that's what it's like a lot of the time with SHINee. You really never know what they're gonna do next. They're so known for being experimental, in fact, that a lot of the time the industry looks to SHINee to figure out what the new trend in music is gonna be.

"View" came out in 2015 and it is one of numerous songs that was wrote and co-composed by Jonghyun. Jonghyun is highly respected as a singer/songwriter and he was one of the most prolific songwriters and composers of his generation. Minho has way more than just great arms, wait until you see SHINee's concert performance of "Dynamite." LOL Minho has actually won an award for having the best abs in Asia and he is almost obsessed with working out. Plus, he was born to be a model, so his body has been chiseled by the gods. He is a work of art. But you will soon discover that all the members of SHINee have amazing bodies. They have to keep fit in order to be able to sing live for more than 3 hours while dancing that choreography and still look and sound flawless the whole time. :D Fun fact: This MV was filmed in Thailand, so the actresses are all Thai. The funny thing is, the girls don't speak Korean.The SHINee members said they really didn't interact much with the girls when not filming because they couldn't communicate with them. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics for "View" you will see that the song is about being mesmerized and sort of brainwashed by the beautiful view as seen within a dream.The MV seems to be about living in the dream of being like a normal group of young men hanging out with friends and having fun in the summer without anything to worry about. But, as you noticed, SHINee have been drugged and kidnapped by the girls and whenever the girls get close to them, SHINee pushes them away, or looks away. And, if you want to see how much fun they had making the MV, you should check out the behind the scenes footage. So after more than a decade, they have pretty much done it all, and yet they are still smashing records and changing the industry with every new song. It is said that within 3 months of SHINee releasing a new song, that you will see the same music style and choreography being depicted in every new comeback from both boy groups and girl groups. When SHINee does something the industry takes notice and follows suite. There is almost no group that has better harmonies and vocals than SHINee. They are one of the most well rounded groups in Kpop that excel at every aspect of the entertainment industry. They are one of the top groups that are known for the fact that they all can do it all. They are a group of 5 amazing vocalists, 5 impressive dancers, 5 visuals, 5 rappers, 5 top actors, and 5 of the most talented and unique voices in all of Kpop. And everyone looks up to them. They are considered Idols' Idols. SHINee's rappers are lead vocalists and their main vocalists can hold their own as rappers. There is almost nothing they can't do. About the ONLY thing SHINee is not good at is lip syncing, so they avoid it at all costs. So when you hear them sing about 95% of the time it will be live. And they have trained their entire career to be able to sing live while performing really complex choreography and always sound flawless. They have built a reputation for sounding even better live then they do in their studio recordings. And even other Idols have said, when they perform at the same events as SHINee, they are even blown away by how perfect SHINee's raw vocals sound as they listen to them from backstage. I've been a Shawol for a few years now, and most of us agree that we would rather people celebrate Jonghyun's life and the achievements he's made. It's always so awesome to see new people getting into SHINee more than a decade after their debut. Hi. I'll always be happy to remember Jonghyun this way. As the great singer he is. So, thank you for taking the time to know more about them. What I can tell you about Onew, my bias, is that you can easily tell him apart if you just focus on his voice. He's the one with a soft yet powerful voice. He's the one who despite having a deep voice can pull out very nice and effortless falsettos and as for any particular physical features, you can easily recognize him for his brilliant smile and his sexy and prominent Adam's apple 🙈 Ok, that was indeed too much information. Thank you again and I hope you can react to more stuff of him. I bet you won't regret. Some of my personal recommendations are Rainy Blue, Nessun Dorma, In Your Eyes and The Name I Loved.

I think when people watch Shinee's journey they really come to understand Taemin "Shinee Bogoshipda"-ing for the past couple of years. He missed his brothers so much. I'm so glad you are enjoying your journey with Shinee! Also, SHINEE'S BACK!

To help explain what is happening in SHINee's "Tell Me What to Do" MV, the members are all playing a group of friends which also includes this girl. How I see the story is that they all have been friends with this girl for a very long time and Taemin has always been in love with her, but unfortunately, what you see is that she is in love with Minho and they are dating. However, Taemin is super jealous and his jealousy has gotten to the point where he can no longer hide his anger and disappointment -- that's why you see him acting kind of crazy and really angry. That's why you see him getting drunk and silently watching Minho and the girl with that seething, jealous look on his face. It is also why you see him crazily pick up that gun and wave it around like he is drunkenly joking with everyone and making bad choices. It's supposed to be about a group of teenagers/young 20-something guys hanging out together and partying in an abandoned warehouse or construction site, etc. You see them having fun riding around in the car together, but if you notice Taemin is sitting there jealously watching Minho and the girl and wishing it was him who she was in love with. I interpret the floating guns as a metaphor, where Taemin is surrendering to everything and he is struggling to figure out how to cope with all his feelings, etc. You see Minho and Taemin get in a fight and Minho is essentially saying, "hey man it's not my fault she is in love with me and not you ... you need to back off and get over yourself ... snap out of it ... what is wrong with you?", etc. So the song is called "Tell Me What To Do" because the rest of the members are pretty much saying "Tell Me What to do ... What should I do to fix this rift in our friendship and how do we fix it and go back to the way we used to be?", etc. It's a coming of age story about friendship and the things that can happen in someone's life that can cause a rift between friends. In the end you see Taemin drop the lighter and some say the lighter is what catches the car on fire and it symbolizes the end to their youthful innocence, but you also see Minho get in the car and it blows up. Some say Taemin is so jealous that he blows up the car and kills Minho. It's definitely a darker concept, but you shouldn't feel too sad, because at this point nothing had happened with SHINee yet and it doesn't really have anything to do with this MV. It's only after the fact, that we now can give the story a deeper meaning. The only saving grace to this story is that we know that SHINee is too much of a close knit group to ever let something like this happen to them for real and, that in terms of SHINee, this story is so far from reality that this would never happen with their friendship. Once again this was a departure from anything we have ever seen from SHINee before and it's unlike anything they have every done as a concept for an MV. But it was exactly sHINee-like in every way. You should really watch a video of SHINee performing this song live on Jonghyun's radio program called "Blue Night". The radio show was hosted by Jonghyun. He hosted the weekly radio program for 3 years. During "Tell Me What to Do" promotions the other SHINee members were guests on the show and Jonghyun had to do double duty that night as both host and guest. This was my favorite performance of "Tell Me What to Do," and not only are their vocals magnificent, but it also shows you a little glimpse into their goofy fun personalities as well. You should also check out a live performance of "Tell Me What to Do." Because, even though there is no dancing in the MV, this was one of their lead promotional tracks for this album, so they performed it on music programs and in concert. This choreography is so uniquely SHINee. I think you will fall even more in love with the song, once you see the full performance. :D

My personal favourite is view summer bop and the mv is soo unique but i adore all 4 of them. Everybody choreography is sooo iconic! Married to the music is our Halloween bop. Tell me what to do is one of my favourites as well. I'd love for the reactions of the MV's with just the 4 members it's sad but so beautiful and some of my favourite songs from them.

In "Everybody" SHINee are supposed to be toy soldiers and they get their energy and power from the fans. So in the MV the "creepy" boy or robot, or whatever you want to call him is supposed to represent the fans who are using their energy to power the SHINee members up. The boy plugs in the power which sends the electricity to the grid on the floor where the members are laying and it activates Minho, and he then proceeds to activate the rest of the members. All the moves and everything you see, including the way they are dressed, is supposed to remind you of how a toy soldier would look and move. Their fans power them up and that's why in the beginning they wake up from the floor and in the end they run out of energy and they disengage and fall back down to the floor to wait for the fans to come and power them back up again. In the middle of the performance, where they come together and create that picture in their dance, they are supposed to look like an airplane, that's why Onew spins his arms round really fast like the propeller of a plane. The plane has to do with the fact that they are soldiers and they are depicting a scene from a battle during the Korean War. And yes, 4 out of the 5 of them have major high notes in "Everybody." That is what makes SHINee so mind blowing. :D You should really check out the dance practice for "Everybody." kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYbJaJuYpdJ5gsk. Make sure you click on the CC button so you can understand what they are talking about. This is one of SHINee's most iconic dance practices. Fun fact: Everytime they performed this song as part of a comeback stage performance their military-style outfits were a different color. They even had an aqua blue version that was the same color as their fan color. SHINee's comeback stage outfits are some of my favorite of any Kpop group, and they are different every time they perform, but they always stick to the theme of the song or album so it's fun to see every one of their performances just to see what their outfits look like each time. In your free time look up some comeback stage performances and see what I mean. "Married to the Music", "Dream Girl" and "Everybody" were some of my favorite eras.

First time I heard View I didn't like 😅 It took a few listening to really appreciated it. I love the mv for married to the music XD It looks Halloweeny but it came in summer, so I call it the sumer Halloween song XD Tell me what to do it became one of my nr 1 songs from them in just 5 seconds. After Jonghyun passing it become even more special to me. It was his last korean title track with Shinee. So that's why this song become even more close to my heart. I was fine, until tell me what to do.....and then I cried.

Personally, getting to see your reaction to this today is just exactly and perfectly what I needed. It will always be a really hard hitting loss, but getting to see that Jonghyun's legacy is still so impactful and present with us is the most beautiful balm. Hey Kaia, I just wanted to thank you - I've been a Shawol ever since their debut (in fact I remember when they had little countdown things counting down to their debut!) but in the recent years have pulled away because it's been so painful to see them missing one. Going through your reactions was a really nice throwback to and a rediscovery of the music I loved and enjoyed bopping to growing up as a teenager and I'm so happy to see a new fan of their amazing music. Thank you for these videos and I hope you enjoy their music to come, too! Jonghyun was a great artist and an even greater person and I'm more than confident that he would have loved new people getting into their music.

Yup, the anonymous bride was indeed trying to create the perfect man by stealing body parts from Shinee members. The mv's concept was loosely inspired by The Rocky Horror Show. Btw you're doing great at telling them apart. When I started noticing Shinee (mid 2009ish?), it took me several weeks to tell Jonghyun, Key and Onew apart and then a few more to tell Key and Onew apart lmao. Once you figure it out though, you realize then that they all barely look anything alike. Tip: Onew's got thick lips, smaller eyes, and a slight hook and dimple at the tip of his nose while Key's face is slimmer, with cat-like eyes and slim lips with a cupid's bow.

You are definitely correct with your guess on the Married to the Music concept that the bride was trying to assemble a perfect man for herself. She took the face of Key since Key is known to have a flawless face skin, eyes of Taemin because Taemin's eyes are beautiful like of a woman, Onew's nose because it's sharp and beautiful, Jonghyun's kissable lips and also having a powerful vocal, and lastly Minho's height as she burned his face off as it wasn't needed as she already had Key's face. In the end of the MV, you will see the final man of her perfect creation.

I really wanted to see more Shinee today, so thank you. As for your final question, any time is fine, but I am eager so sooner is better ^.^. I will say that there are 3 videos which should be seen together. There is Good Evening, I Want You, and Our Page. They were released with the album, ‘The Story of Light.’ Good Evening was a reflection on how the world viewed Shinee at the time; I Want You was a reflection on how Shinee viewed themselves. Then, Our Page is probably the most important MV to Shawols. I hope I don’t get flamed for saying so. It’s very important to have the lyrics for Our Page. Any way, just wanted to let you know even though I’m sure someone else probably already has. Thanks

This is not related to your video. But I just wanna say that, I f you ever react to SHINee rest of the songs I guess you'll react to "Our Page". After watching the video, please react to the lyrics video also, cz there is no subtitles added on that song. The song was written by the members for our dear Jonghyun. ( I just wanted to make sure you know that) SHINee and Girls Generation was the 1st 2 groups who brought me into K-pop back in 2014. 8 years have passed, but still they are the best things that happened with me. I love & respect these 2 groups with my all. I am grateful to them out of nowhere I suddenly pressed their MV's that day and the rest is history. Thank you for supporting & appreciating their musics & hard work.

Very belated appreciation for these Shinee reactions (I only discovered Shinee a few months ago, shortly after accidentally hearing Jonghyun's Moon and immediately losing my soul to his voice). I love the way you express yourself and the way you can make me laugh in gleeful agreement. I have a hard time tearing myself away from Shinee / Shinee member solos immersion right now, but when I eventually get there I know I'll enjoy other reactions you've done too, not just your Shinee-based ones.
