Mephelis is half of the sun god Solaris. In the past people experimented on their god Solaris and ended up splitting him in two: Mephelis the Dark, and Iblis, The Flames of Disaster. Hence the "Spitting flames of disaster" " On the ledge of an experiment" and "Burning sunrays, This kid invented them" bars. Mephelis originally didn't have a form outside of just a dark blotch, but copied Shadow's form, though lacking a mouth. Hence "In the shadow of shadows" and following the flames of disaster bar with "don't even need to open my mouth". "Killing the king infront of his princess" because the king was responcible for the experiment and died due to sealing Iblis into his daugther and telling her not to cry before dying(doing so releases Iblis). But also because Mephelis kills Sonic, and he gets revived by a kiss from the princess(probably also other things I forgot), which still gets Bestiality jokes from people that remember the kiss. Then the beginning and end parts of the verse "Came back from the future, to tell you the answer is Mephelis, if you last till the end of this, then I'll ask what the question is" and "When it comes to villains in the history bins, who's the one thats gonna leave you deep sonic 06'd", reference the time travel plot of Sonic 06 and that he was a one-off villain(get one game and then get forgotten) despite killing Sonic.

Infinite is villain from Sonic Forces, a jackal and was a mercenary. After a fight with Shadow he joined forces with Eggman. The Last Boss bar was referring to the fact Eggman took his spot in the game as the final boss while there are people who wanted him (Infinite) as the last boss

Metal Sonic accumulated data from everyone in sonic heroes to transform into Metal Overlord, and started believing he was the real Sonic. Mephiles is one half of Solaris, the other half being Iblis, known as the flames of disaster. Solaris is a sun god of spacetime that basically destroys reality the instant he comes into being. Iblis is a rampaging fire spirit who comes in many forms, and makes the future, that is, the future that would've come into being before Solaris happened, Into a hellscape of burning cities, volcanoes and seas of lava. Mephiles has time travel powers, teleportation, can make copies of himself, can't be hit in his fights unless Shadow uses his own powers to dispel Mephiles from hiding in his shadow in his first fight, and dispel the entire dark room in his second. Mephiles was sealed in a sceptre in the past, but it got dropped in the present, and Shadow's shadow got absorbed into it, freeing him and somehow making it so the sceptre would never work again. He also kills sonic, because the thing sealing iblis in the present and stopping him from being Solaris was princess Elise, who got iblis sealed into her at the time of the two's creation, an attempt to create Solaris, who is overall a benevolent god but maybe his component parts aren't or something. If she ever cries, Iblis would be free. Killing sonic does this. Then Mephiles teleports the chaos emeralds to himself, to fuse. Iblis is resealed in the future that would've happened had Solaris not come into being. This is in sonic 06, a game that at the end writes itself out of existence. I like it. It's poked fun at frequently, but it had ambition at the least. It just suffered from rushed development and the team got cut in half twice or so. Zavok is the leader of the deadly six, a gang of villains. He's tough, can grow bigger, a schemer, and like the other deadly six is vulnerable to the sound of one particular conch when you blow through it.

Loved the reaction as always. Have yet to see anyone comment on Mat’s bit about the question at the end, which he kept his word on. Began with “Came back from the future, to tell you the answer's Mephiles If you last to the end of this, then I'll ask what the question is” and ended his part with “Who's the one that's gonna leave you deep, Sonic 0-Sixed?” Which is a referencing the phrase “To Deep 6” or kill and send overboard into the sea along with Sonic ‘06 being largely held as the worst Sonic game.

Hey i thought i’d leave another comment since I know you read them, and I actually put together one massive list of all the game references in this cypher (it’s easily my absolute favorite ever and I wanted to explain it to a friend who doesn’t play) So… From Dan as Eggman: The 300IQ line off the top ain’t just a boast, it’s a canon fact that Eggman has an IQ of exactly 300! And “I am the Eggman” isn’t just a reference to Eggman’s name and the Beatles song, it’s verbatim the hook to Eggman’s official theme, E.G.G.M.A.N. The abundance of gun bars for Eggman is also a nice nod to how a staple of Eggman’s robots is firearms and he used to even carry a gun himself back in SA2. The “Whole Zoo when i talk with llama’s, ask Shofu” bit is a reference to both how most sonic characters are animals and to Scru Face Jean’s worldwide cypher that had both Dan and Shofu in it. From Zach B as Metal Sonic: “Never lag behind in a race, the road's dusty” is a reference to Sonic CD where Metal debuted and how the stage you race metal in CD is StarDUST Speedway. “I'm starting to think you're the fake, hmmm, you must be” is in reference to Sonic OVA based loosely on CD and Sonic 3 where Metal is so obsessed with his perfection that he believes _Sonic_ is a copy of *Metal.* “I’m basically another you, with everybody combined” is about how in Sonic Heroes, Metal becomes Neo Metal Sonic, who can shapeshift into anyone he scans and the “devil” part later on refers to how he ends up becoming the godlike Metal Overlord that takes everyone working together to beat, complete with visual of a sprite based on that form! The “no one’s repelling this” line before that is also a reference to the Black Shield, a unique defense matrix Metal Sonic has that repels any and all incoming attacks, and lastly “I'll take the ones that you love” refers to how Metal is somewhat of a serial kidnapper between Amy in Sonic CD, Sara in the OVA, and both Froggy and Chocola in Sonic Heroes. As for Mat4yo, oh boy. Mephiles is the villain of (the very bad) Sonic 06 and Mat packed a TON of fantastic references into a character most people probably wouldn’t have taken so seriously. He’s from the future and is basically in a Cell situation where he’s made incomplete so he goes back in time to absorb his other half, which is where “for centuries I've been on the ledge of an experiment” comes from with how he was sealed away in 2 parts. “In the shadow of shadows, I'm underground” is how Mephiles starts out as this being made of pure darkness but possesses Shadow’s shadow for a body which is why he looks a lot like him. “Rapper, the master, spitting flames of disaster” is a reference to his other half Iblis, basically a lava kaiju known as The Flames of Disaster. Mephiles also uses telepathy and so he _literally_ doesn’t “even need to open my mouth” (as well as a cheeky shot at 06’s animation). The aforementioned Iblis is the body of the world-ending sun god Solaris and Mephiles its soul which is what “You've got a one-way ticket to oblivion, Feel the burning sun rays, this kid invented them” is about. And the last line about 06’d is a triple play. There’s the obvious 0-6/six feet under meaning but in the game Mephiles actually DOES succeed in killing sonic before he abducts Elise, and Sonic has to be brought back to life (“Kill the King, steal the heart of his princess”) AND Sonic 06 was a game so bad it was decried as the death of the franchise at the time. Lastly is one bit of pure wordplay I HAVE to mention: “Came back from future to tell you the answer’s Mephiles” isn’t just a reference to time travel, it’s not just a loop from the question “who’s gonna leave you Sonic 06’d” but it’s *also* a response to the last line of Zach’s verse, as the name Mephiles is derived from the devil Mephistopheles. Pete definitely didn’t have much to work with for Zavok but that absolutely didn’t stop him. “I'm boxin baddies and crackin eggs” refers to how Zavok hands Eggman his ass to the point he asks Sonic for help. “King of my clique…all six ahead” is a nod to him being the leader of the alien-like race known as Zeti, and the “conch” mentioned is the Cacophonous Conch that acts like kryptonite to Zeti. Shwabadi as Chaos: “Six forms, and I'm open-minded” is both a reference to how Chaos’s brain is visible at all times and how by absorbing chaos emeralds he can change his form. Although there are 7 emeralds and Chaos has a base form without any, we only ever seen Chaos 0, 1, 2, 4, 6, and Perfect Chaos, so it’s still six forms rather than eight. “You should bow down, ask Chao, I'm a god” is a reference to both Chaos’s title as ‘God of Destruction’ and him being the guardian of the Chao. “All I’m seeing is green, like cash rules” is about his green eyes of course, but the reason he even has them is he was both granted power and sealed away inside the Master Emerald that Knuckles guards, literally seeing the entire world through a green lens. “Everything, but no cream, I snatch up” is a nod to Cream the Rabbit, one of the only characters in the series who is direct friends with a Chao and thus exempt from Chaos’s wrath. Shao Dow as Infinite: “I'll twist the world to my wishes” refers to this thing Infinite has called the Phantom Ruby that lets him warp reality itself, hence his name, and the cubes, and the excuse Forces uses to bring all the villains back. “I hold the truth within my chest, it's fused to me” is talking about said Ruby as Infinite fused his body with it to fully absorb its power. “Fuck who I used to be… Scared? Weak? No I refuse to be” Infinite was part of a mercenary gang of jackals hired by Eggman who got the absolute shit kicked out of them by shadow. Infinite was realllllllly not happy about that…”Mask on never mask off” …and so he got his dr doom mask game on and decided to completely start anew as someone twice as ruthless who wouldn’t ever feel so weak again. “And I should've been the last boss” Rather infamously, despite having every right to be the true villain, Sonic Forces’ garbage story made Eggman the final boss after unceremoniously casting Infinite aside entirely. (It’s also nice foreshadowing here that Sonic.EXE is gonna happen). “Think you're fast I surpass hogs” isn’t just a brag either. The bad writing also resulted in a meme worthy exchange that shows just how much the game REALLY wants you to know Infinite is threatening, ham-fistedly having him introduced with other characters explicitly saying he’s faster than Sonic like he’s a badly set up Flash villain. “The mercenary, I hurt so many / Your team I bury, extremely edgy” is about how Infinite has this entertainingly edgy backstory, design, and theme with him being a grizzled ex-mercenary who’s a lot like what people meme Shadow as, but that’s OFFICIALLY what Infinite is like and it’s played straight. “I move these cubes like a Rubik's / Infinite jackal beings, death like Anubis” The main manifestation of the phantom ruby’s power is these matter cubes Infinite manipulates, and he’s a jackal like the Egyptian death god Anubis. As for Cam as Sonic.EXE, it’s easier to just explain WHAT it is cause after that it’s all self explanatory. Sonic.EXE is a creepypasta of a “Cursed” sort of Virus-Sonic from 2011 that gained a ton of notoriety due to actually being well made for a creepypasta with custom spritework and a short freeware ‘game’ in the graphical style of Sonic 3, where a demonic Sonic teleports around hellscapes pursuing Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik and kills them all in gruesome ways (gruesome for genesis sprites anyhow), before having a high detail close up of its face with “I AM GOD” written in blood while Kefka’s laugh from Final Fantasy 6 plays, something that plays at the end of this track.

Mephiles is the villain of sonic 06, the attempted “modern” reboot ok the xbox360 and…it’s not a good game. Second worse after the wii u version of Boom; it basically launched in an alpha state that barely worked. But it’s where Silver comes from and like him Mephiles himself is actually a cool character, being the sentience of an evil god that got split into two halves. Iblis “The Flames of Disaster” is the body, this unkillable lava kaiju that burned the majority of the entire world by the time of the future Silver lives in. Mephiles did some time travel shenanigans to try and reunite himself with Iblis at a point they were still able to fuse (basically is Silver is Trunks, Mephiles is Cell) and in the process inhabited a copy of Shadow’s body that became his body in the future because self fulfilling prophecy and all that. He’s also the only sonic villain to successfully kill sonic (at least in the games).

He refers to the term that sonic '06 was one of the worst sonic games in the history of sonic games...and since the game is terrible...he means he'll leave you terribly damaged...also, mephiles' first appearance was...you guessed it... sonic '06.. Chaos: the god of water and water spirits, mainly made of chaos energy...and the Chao are water spirits...sooo yeah... Infinite: Formerly known as jack jackal..and a main villain of sonic forces...extremely powerful and can beat all three S hedgehogs in one go...(I think?)...that's what I mainly know... Sonic.EXE....: Not really a canon villain yet...but it's a creepypasta story that went viral about a glitch game, where sonic.EXE rules....he is extremely powerful and he's obsessed with sonic...he's a malware that adored sonic so much he took his form...(if you notice, sonic himself wasn't really in the sonic.EXE part... because he is obssesed with him...almost to the point of homosexuality and fantasicm...) But it's mainly a story gone viral and would really much love if they could reduce the gore on his characterization and make him canon...(I don't mind the gore tho..but there are kids🤷)
