Yes Stephen Fry is very well known in Australia and absolutely loved. I could listen to him for hours. We get a lot of British shows and movies. You often need to watch the ABC/ channel 2 though or 7two.

Of course, we know Stephen Fry in Australia from Forever! Do you think we are all so backward?Honestly, not all of us speak broad Australian either as demonstrated. There is such a thing as an educated accent and the interviewers do not posses it either! They are middle of the road, and their grammar is not as good. 🤩

@@brackenboy6321 I thought that was clear enough, we know what a good speaker sounds like when they're clear and educated and are employed for the use of their voice and speech. We also know what a sloppy speaker is like when they never bothered to learn anything but just buggered off to the pub and footie.

Stephen Fry is extremely well known here. Yes, QI and his old skit shows, other British panel shows, etc. We get a lot of British comedies and panel shows on our ABC, which is like a poor man's BBC. Home and Away were popular in the early days but we got tired of them. I think they might still be shown here. I haven't had a tv for so many years, and see things online instead. But soaps like those are boring after the first dozen times. We have had a lot of others, like A Country Practice, over the years, and they were more popular in their day. The web has changed a lot of our viewing habits. I'm astonished that Bluey is such a success.
