When Steve was a young boy, he was riding in a truck with his grandpa. Grandpa said that Steve was singing away and that he thought something had jumped in front of the truck. He slammed on the breaks and Steve went flying and cut his lower chin. Steve said that grandpa said that he (Steve) kept singing, blood and all! If you should ever react to Steve's 'Strung Out', it will better explain the 'Oh Sherrie' video!!

I heard Steve got into a knife fight with a unicorn and it sliced his chin up bad, hence the scar. Thank goodness it didn't affect his singing because he has such amazing pipes on him. Fantastic song.

It's funny, no one seems to notice that his voice is completely different here from what it was a few years earlier. It sounds like about 40 years of smoking. Still great, just way different. Listen to the first three albums he did with journey and you'll see what I mean.
