If you go back through it and read it as a goodbye to a close friend who died young its gonna hit you way different.

That is Chris Cornell. You know him from Soundgarden and Audioslave. I believe you reacted recently to Last Remaining Light. You should really check out Fell on Black Days acoustic by him during his Sirius music set. Mind-blowing

Also, this is about his roommate and friend Andrew Wood, the singer for Mother Love Bone. Wood died young from a heroin overdose.

So it WAS drug abuse. I said that earlier in the video but was not too sure.

@@whatitdodave STARGAZER was a song (also what Andy called his girlfriend XANA) by MOTHER LOVE BONE. The band Andy fronted. That was TEMPLE OF THE DOG & now known as PEARL JAM.

Great reaction man. This whole album is a tribute to Chris's friend Andrew Wood. Andrew was the lead singer of Mother Love Bone. Chris and the band got together and made this album to sort through their feelings over losing their friend to a heroine overdose. The band went on to become Pearl Jam with new lead singer Eddie Vedder. Eddie also appears on the album. He sings lead vocals with Chris on Hunger Strike, and backup vocals on a few other tracks. This is just such an incredible, emotional song; especially now that Chris is dead too. I really enjoyed your reaction. Keep up the good work

When he says that he came from an island, Andrew Wood, who the song is about, was born in Long Island
@HarryD7383 жыл бұрын
No, it's because Andy was from Bainbridge Island, which is a part of the Seattle area. Andy was born in Mississippi. His dad was in the Air Force and they were stationed there.

This song is about his friend dying from an overdose. "I never wanted to put these words done for you" . Is him speaking at his funeral.

Chris Cornell! He has an immense history in music. Soundgarden, audio slave, and solo work. This was a one off, of greatness, in collaboration of soundgarden members of what eventually became Pearl Jam. One Magical album.

This in Chris Cornell as others have stated. It's about his best friend Andy Wood who died from a heroin overdose. Many lyrics can be taken literally. He came from island was a small island near Seattle. Died from the street is a reference to the street drug Andy died from. The cold ground is his literally his grave. Poor Stargazer is a reference to Andy Wood's band Mother Love Bone as are the words how the dog broke your bone. These were from Mother Love Bone's songs. The lyrics He hurt so bad like a soul breakin but he never said nothing to me was that Andy always thought Chris as the responsible one so he hid his drug use. They were also roommates. You were right about cause this one has ended abrupt. Andy had been clean for some time. Andy did not die right away he was put on life support as Chris was in New York with his band Soundgarden. They waited for Chris to get there before they turned off the life support. Never wanted to write these words down for you was literal as well and Chris was kind of pissed off because they held a big public funeral which Andy would have liked. Chris though was trying to mourn his best friend while people were bothering him for his autograph. Now they are in heaven together. Both tragic losses.

@5:32, Hi Dave, I'm your new sub...Yes, Chris Cornell wrote this song for one of his best friends and roommate Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone...he passed away from a heroin overdose... Now Chris Cornell has left us as well. RIP🌹 And Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam was so very close to Chris, they were like brothers and after Chris committed suicide, Eddie sang this song in memory of Chris 🙏 Chris Cornell was the lead singer of Soundgarden and Audioslave etc etc etc... But Temple of the Dog was Chris and Eddie together...you should do "Hunger Strike" they're amazing!!🙏

You should check out Chris Cornell's cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 u" that he did live on SirusXM Lithium. You will not regret it. It if my favorite version of this song. Temple of the Dog - "Times of trouble" is another good one. Hell all the Temple of the Dog songs are great. :)

I know this was posted 3 years ago but I just wanted to say the singer who you were looking at when you searched them up was Eddie vedder who he was apart of temple of the dog for their song hunger strike but he is not the singer in this song. This singer is Chris Cornell who was the lead singer of soundgarden and audioslave where Eddie vedder is the lead singer of Pearl Jam.
