Any "top" list about the U.S. is always very subjective, due to the size of the country. This video does show 25 amazing places, but there are so many more equally amazing places to visit.

Mert, just after I posted a few minutes ago, I noticed someone else's comment, and realized I need to get on the same subject--the wildlife. In the southern coastal states, there are alligators, crocodiles and manatees, then at the other end of the country--the Arctic of Alaska, there are polar bears, caribou/reindeer, snowy owls, etc.

The south east was left out of this video. My favorite place in North Carolina, where I live, is the Great Smoky Mountains (The Smoky Moutains National Park), is just magical. I love these mountains. It's part of the Appalachian range of mountains called the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia.

I live in the Redwoods of Northern California and they're absolutely beautiful and amazing and gigantic. The vibe here in N. Cal, from about San Francisco up, is more in sync with Oregon and Washington. Southern California is a whole different thing. I've lived here my whole life and I'd have to say my favorite natural place in California is Mt. Shasta. It's beautiful and a real magic place and something wonderful happens for me every single time I go there.

I would recommend nature and the national parks more than the cities. America is so vast I haven’t seen all of it. You can’t drive to Hawaii or Alaska directly. To Hawaii it takes 6 hours by plane from California. To get to Alaska you’d have to either drive through Canada or go by boat. Most people take an Alaskan cruise. My son, friend and sister in law have all been to Alaska. Two by boat. My son flew there. He went to Juneau and you can’t drive to the city of Juneau so he walked from the airport. He had to walk in the woods and I asked if he was afraid of running into bears and he said he really didn’t think about it. On a second trip he went to Denali and got bear spray as grizzlies are around. Thankfully, they didn’t run into any bears. My favorite places are the giant redwoods and sequoias. They’re the biggest trees in the world. I also loved Yosemite and Yellowstone. Yellowstone for me was the most fascinating place of all with all the geysers. Lot’s of wildlife there. Lake Tahoe is also very beautiful. East coast is beautiful too. Very forested unlike the west.

Born in Alaska moved to the east coast and the to Montara so kinda surprised that Glacier National Park in Montana wasn't on the list. You should look into that Park it's absolutely beautiful with the mountains and wildlife with some of the clearest lakes in the world like Lake Mcdonald known for its colored rocks and having the northern lights there is a big plus!

Living in the Portland area is really nice to drive either direction east or west. West is the beautiful coast. As the video showed Canon Beach is so cool. The other direction is to the Columbia River gorge. 600ft Multnomah Fall is a place you really want to stay and look at. The towns of Hood River and the Dalles. Are so scenic the area around Bonneville Dam is breathtaking. Personally I enjoyed the gorge more than the coast. But it was nice to live an hour or so either way. Peace.

Just took a road trip down the Oregon coast to the redwoods then over to crater lake and back through the forests of the cascade mountains to Portland. Oregon is unbelievably beautiful and I only traveled 1600 miles in the western half of the state. So much more I didn't have time to see but it's my favorite of the 26 states I've been to. National park favorites so far are Zion, Olympic, Redwoods, Mt Rainier and Big Bend

You can get a triple win of National Parks in Washington State with Olympic National Park, Mt. Rainier National Park, and the North Cascades National Park. In the meantime, the San Juan Islands within the Salish Sea and just a short ferry trip from Seattle give a wonderful vibe that you've left the hustle and bustle of everyday life and are far away living the laid back relaxing, no cares Island life.

Europeans spend their lives in densely populated cities; if there’s one message I could preach to them it’s to see the National Parks and the wonders of nature - not New York City or LA. To each his own I guess. I still have a lot of places to see but my favorite park is The Grand Canyon, and favorite area to visit is the Southwest, around the 4-states area of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. There are so many National Parks and so much incredible geology in that area - Carlsbad Caverns, the Meteor Crater, the Grand Canyon, the deserts, multiple parks in Utah, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. It’s incredible. Lots of other places are worth seeing but if you gave me a week off it’s the Southwest, easy choice. And btw I’ve been to New York City (I even was offered a transfer there in a previous job) and it’s the last place I have any interest in returning to, I much prefer mother nature over congested cities.

As a child, we lived in Montana and used to drive up to Alberta or Saskatchewan to see the scenery there and camp. We went to Calgary and Banff several times. Other than that and some day trips into Ontario from Niagara Falls, I haven't seen much of Canada. But what I've seen is beautiful. I know there are many places all over the world as amazing as the US when it comes to natural beauty. But the US has built the infrastructure to be able to reach places like the national parks easily by car. There are some parks where you can see amazing views driving through in your car, or park easily and take a short hike on a well-built trail to see some of the best areas.

Mert, it's next to impossible for me, personally, to find my favorite place in the country. However, Florida south of Miami extends another 100 mi./160km. to Key West on the stunning Overseas Hwy., and Hawi'i at the other end, with its island of Kaua'i is amazing. Alaska's in the far NW, and out West is Yellowstone. Mert, do you recognize the Redwoods as being somehow familiar? If you saw the speeder bike chase in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, you might now see how it's where that scene was filmed. Back in '84, I took 31 days to drive from northern IL to Alaska, with about 2 weeks of that time in the state. It's an absolutely amazing place, and I didn't see more than a small fraction of it, though I did get to Denali N.P. While I was there, I took a 2-day tour to Nome and Kotzebue (check Wikipedia), which was really amazing. Actually, it's not, at least for the most part, immigrants living on the streets, but addicts who made the mistake of trying the horrible drug phentenol, which pretty much turns a person into a zombie. Shiprock is on the massive Navajo Reservation, which is mostly in AZ, but spills over into UT and NM.

I have traveled the entire continental US as well as Alaska and Hawaii. I have also traveled to Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, and the UK) as well as Canada and Mexico and the Caribbean. I choose to live in Washington State and the Pacific Northwest if that tells you anything. Washington and Oregon are the two most beautiful and ecologically diverse states in the country. If I could afford the Caribbean in the way I want to live, that is the only location I would move to. Or maybe retirement in Florida… As for the National parks… there are just so many. The best is a 3 way tie. Yellowstone, Glacier, and Yosemite.

I live in Northern California and I’m very lucky to be able to get to Yosemite and Tahoe within a 3.5 hour drive, and Hawaii is a 4 hour flight away. I’m a Hawaii geek so if you’re genuinely curious about Hawaii let me gush… Hawaii is my favorite place in the world. The weather is perfect and it’s beautiful even when it rains; you drive around and basically spot postcard-perfect rainbows every few minutes. Trees, flowers, fruit trees, etc. sprout out of every corner and tropical birds even make it sound nice. My favorite activity is to simply lie on Sunset Beach (Oahu’s North Shore) at sunset. The sand is soft and warm, the waves are turquoise, and the sun is outrageously pink and fuchsia. It feels like a sneak peek of heaven for me. On certain stretches, you can see coffee table-sized turtles swim along and beach. The culture can best be described as a cross between Polynesian, American, and East Asian. I’m Asian-American so I could be biased, but to me it plays like the best hits of all 3. Food is a mix of native Hawaiian, midcentury American, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino. The iconic snack is spam musubi, a mix of WWII-era American canned meat with seaweed and Japanese sushi rice. The general vibe is chill. California auto culture basically accepts that there are always going to people aggressively passing on the left; in Hawaii they legitimately drive the speed limit or slower. Native Hawaiians are sometimes known to pack their families into the beds of their pickup trucks, even onto the freeway! If you visit, you must treat native Hawaiian culture respectfully. They distinguish between *Hawaiians* and Hawaii residents. They’re a super proud people with an amazing history of maritime exploration, having basically navigated from Australia to the most remote location on Earth, 1,000 years ago, by the stars! The older generations especially have a deeeeep connection to the sea (and nature generally, which they view as being embued with mana, spiritual energy) and are superb divers and fishermen. Traditional hula is oral history, honoring of the old nature deities or the figures of Hawaiian royalty. It’s actually quite dignified and spiritual, unlike how it’s depicted in, say, Elvis movies. For something like 600-800 years, each of the islands were independent and sometimes even had 2 rival chiefs on one island. The first King Kamehameha, from the island of Hawaii, created the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1795 after conquering and unifying his way across the island chain. They had a sovereign Kingdom for only 98 years before being made an American territory (~60 years), then a becoming state in 1959. In American history, Oahu especially is heavily associated with the Pearl Harbor attack and the WWII era. There is still a sunken battleship that acts as the final resting place for 1,102 of our troops. You can take a short boat ride out and pay your respects and there’s a whole museum essentially. Amongst the beautiful nature, there are still countless US military bases sprinkled around. You commonly see uniformed troops, Apache and Chinook helicopters, cargo planes, etc. Its strategic importance for America really can’t be overstated. Each island has a different vibe. Kauai is sparsely populated looks like Jurassic Park; the city of Honolulu basically looks like someone plopped San Diego or LA into the Pacific. There is a Hawaiian sovereignty movement. There is tension as Hawaii’s economy is dependent on tourism, but people (especially Hawaiians) are being priced out of their own native land. And like anywhere, tourists sometimes act badly. However, if you respect the people, respect the land, and don’t try to exploit, Hawaiians show aloha, love. I genuinely believe the “Aloha spirit” is a real thing; it’s one of the chillest, safest, places in the US. Sorry, I know you didn’t ask for an essay. Just thought I’d put some basic context out there for you or other less familiar people around the world who are interested in traveling 😊

For our family, our favorite natl park is Yellowstone and grand teton (which literally connect to each other). They have some of the best scenic views to compliment one of a kind geothermal features. You can spend 2 weeks just in these parks taking all of it in. Truly crown jewels of the country. Redwood national is also a very special area and not as many people visit it. Only a small coastal region in the whole world you can see these football field tall millenia old trees. Then yosemite can spend a whole week as well, there is so much to hike and see. Lastly glacier natl in mid july to august is about as good as you can get for scenic views, hikes, and fun activities (rafting, boat rides, and horseback riding) and my kids just love it.

This seemed more like the most beautiful places he has vacationed or lived in. If you want to say you've been to NYC, spend a day and see the main sights then get out and see the better parts of the country. Once you get out of the cities you are guaranteed to see amazing views. Considering the guy went from Maine to Florida Keys and called it the opposite side of the country - he's an idiot. They are on the same side of the country. The fact is, the list is safe and unimaginative. There are so many parts of the country that are just as beautiful, if not more so, than most of these lists in videos like this but these types of videos just follow each others recommendations. The problem you will run in to is these videos have caused people to focus on these place and they are overrun with tourists which diminishes the experience. Look for the places that are amazing but not on every list.

I moved to Hawaii and lived within 6miles of Kilauea Volcano, during two eruptions & 5miles from Pu'u O'o Volcano as it erupted. 100% offgrid. The tourist areas and small towns have municipal water, but the only water was either from the rain or a community water spigot 10 miles away for potable water. Having magma underground prevents the ability to drill for water or install municipal water lines. 100% solar power& no internet til 2018, much like a third world country. The Hawaiians are great and friendly, just don't disturb rocks or nature & never take anything from the islands, like rocks, corral, etc. Land can be cheap on the east side of the Big Island of Hawaii, (3 acres in Puna diatrict app. $20K), often just called the Big Island, because the island, county that encompasses the island & the state are all called Hawaii, so, to prevent confusion, they refer to it as the Big Island l

Acadia National Park is the most beautiful in the fall. Olympic National Park is the most beautiful any other time of the year. In my opinion Also... It's Pike Place, not Pike's Place

Seems like this guy considers big cities and west coast as the best places in America. I prefer the more scenic/amusement type things. So far all the way through Maine he lists is Yosemite is the place I would and have visited.

Boring overhyped list. South Dakota is surprisingly super beautiful and very underrated. Also Minnesota and Michigan are super super beautiful. The great lakes are basically oceans and in the summer there is no place id rather be.

I've been to most of the National Parks and they are all fantastic. But nothing compares to Yellowstone. It is incomparable.

This is a list consisting of nothing but touristy areas, whether "beautiful" or not, as you have likely realized. As far as driving across the country, the best route absolutely depends upon where ya wanna go and how much time/money you have.

Typical yupster, hits the coastal areas and no brainer national parks but totally ignores the vast middle of the US and Great Lakes region as well as Central Region to Texas coast and Lousiana and Florida. The Keys are no brainer.
