There is a lot of people on here talking about Alaska in the summer and how beautiful it is. Alaska is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life, however, I lived in Fairbanks AK, for 3 years, and during the summer, it was miserable, between the 21 hour days and the temperatures regularly getting over 80 degrees and creeping toward 90 degrees with no air conditioning and all the smoke in the air from all of the Forrest fires, it was bad for those 1 1/2 to 2 months of pure summer. I much prefer the "breakup" or what most people would call spring. Snow and ice melts and the temp is much easier to manage during the day and much more comfortable at night with just a fan blowing.

I strongly suggest you guys move to America. I'm an immigrant too since 1995. The Americans gave me what I was striving for, education. I'm forever humbled. Personally Im ready to lay down my life for this country. When 9/11 2001 happened, I reported to the nearest recruitment office in Monroeville, PA . The bridge on 22 that goes over to penn center is named after my family, my ancestors owned the roundhouse and all the property up to the mall way way back when. My father was the postal supervisor for monroeville and i have relatives buried at the old stone church cemetery, my sister was married in that church. I live by the Central Oregon coast; I moved out here from the Ohio River Valley in Indiana, and I was not prepared for the awestriking beauty of Oregon. This state is like paradise, and it doesn't matter which part of the state you're in, every inch of the countryside landscape is gobsmacking.

August! We don't use the outdoors in Texas in August. In DFW last summer, we had 22 days above 100F, with 19 of those at or above 105F, during August. Also if you want to go to Palo Duro Canyon or Big Bend, it can be down right dangerous during that time of year. Down in the bottom of the canyon, it can approach 120F.

IMHO, the best road trip, which allows you to see more than just one state, is the drive from Washington to Oregon and through California. You can avoid San Francisco and Los Angeles completely. The drive is breathtaking, everything you would want to see. Yosemite, the magnificent redwoods and the coast most all the way. If you want to see it, it's there. Plenty of camping and RV parks. IMO, it can't be beat. Happy trails!

Montana is indeed a beautiful state but the pictures of Yellowstone Park and at least one picture of of the mountain lakes are actually in Wyoming, which really should've made this list. Thanks for the video!

The problem is, Yellowstone and Tetons is one tiny corner. And while they are great, I think most people would visit it and realize the rest of it is just okay. Flaming Gorge and Devils Tower are nice, but nothing like Montana. So you can cheat and include Yellowstone in with Montana and not use two spots in a short list.

The most daunting thing about travel in America is just big the country is. Unless the sites you're interested in are quite near each other on a map, there will be hours or even days of travel from one to the next. In the US a couple of hundred miles could be considered a day-trip.

I grew up in Massachusetts and have lived in New Hampshire for around 17 years now and plan on moving even further north in the state. It's easy access to the coast into Maine, and lots of lakes as well with all you need.

The Columbia River Gorge (Washington state on one side and Oregon on the other side) is absolutely beautiful. Mt. Hood, the river, Bonneville Dam, so many waterfalls, etc. Drive along Interstate 84 (I-84) and you can drive alongside the river going from Portland, through the gorge, and out into the desert east.

There are fairs and rodeos in other States besides Texas. One of the oldest is in Steamboat Springs Colorado. Lots of fun in Summer. I like tubing on the Yampa River, the Hot Springs and the ride to Steamboat is gorgeous!

Texas in August, might want to think about a different cooler region to visit your first time here. Come back to Texas during spring or fall. But if you love the heat, then Texas might be for you. There really are other states than just Texas, it seems that most influencers always chose Texas, not sure why. Don't get me wrong, I love Texas, but I have been in every state, I love most of them.

If you come over in August and get to Oregon I have 2 recommendations... 1st is Jerry's Jet Boat rides up the Rogue River in Gold Beach Oregon, it's a 8 hour long trip filled with wildlife, scenery and some class 3 rapids you go UP not down lol, plan on getting wet so protect electronics. The 2nd is Crater Lake Oregon, but more importantly stop at the roadside springs they're filtered by volcanic rock and are so still and pure it'll look like you can put arm in water and touch bottom, but in reality are much deeper and the taste of water is.... celestial ❤.

Kat is correct on Alaska. You can also look at it this way Jono, New York or Alaska. Not all of Alaska is cold in the winter and it does get into the 80's in the summer. There are rain forests in Alaska that stay above freezing but for maybe a month out of the year. You just need the right clothing when it is cold. You have to remember we get 18=24 hrs of sun a day in the summer. We have people come up from Arizona and complain it is to hot.

I grew up in Arizona but I never regret moving to Alaska 23 yrs ago . The winters do get cold and can start to feel long . The summers make up for it with 22 hrs of sun per day here in the Anchorage areas . You never want to sleep in the summer with everything outside to go do and all the wildlife everywhere . Alaska is an amazing place to call home .

Same goes for florida.....heat, mosquitoes, and maybe a hurricane too. Even september, they are by far our worst two months for weather. Only good thing is its almost empty of tourists and snowbirds (people who come from up north to get out of the cold)

I live in SW Oregon. When friends who live in other parts of America visit, I first take them on a whirlwind tour. We get up and leave the house at six a.m.. We go to the top of a mountain and ski for a couple of hours, then travel down through the valley and trout fish in the sun a while longer. Then it is off to do some fly fishing for salmon before ending up on the coast for some swimming in the Pacific and some crabbing. The day ends with a bonfire as the sun sets. Is there anything better?

I live in Montana, and I'm about 85 miles from Yellowstone Park. It's a beautiful state. It wasn't so beautiful the last week with temperatures reaching nearly 60 below zero Fahrenheit with windchill. Without windchill, it was 40 below. We get some co,d and snow, but thankfully, the extreme cold lasts a few days and then it's back to the teens for most of winter.

I've always wanted to visit Montana. number one reason is i'm Blackfoot indian and there's a Blackfeet rez there in Browning. love that i came from a tribe that lived in such a beautiful area and it's still kept beautiful. The blackfoot tribe lived around the Glacier Mountains. Found this little piece on it.... "Glacier National Park is the most spiritual place for the Blackfeet. Every state has some beautiful areas. New York, with the Adirondacks and the Catskills are underrated. Long Island has nice beaches and Long Island Sound, between New York and Connecticut, is great for fishing, too. The Northeast US s scenically underrated.

I totally agree. New York and the New England states are gorgeous, and the mountains are no pushovers. The Whites and the Adirondacks offer some really, really challenging hiking, and the Greens in Vermont and the Catskills are amazing in the fall. And don't sleep on the scenic coastlines, with combinations of beach and rocky headlands. My family has spent more vacation time in New England and New York than any other part of the country.

I believe Jono has been influenced by so many videos about Texas. He's looking for hunting and fishing. October is the better month for that in Texas. However, there are plenty of other states that would be perfect for him. Surprisingly, Alaska in August would be perfect weather for hunting and fishing. Oregon, Northern California, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Washington State, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Maine, Maryland would also be perfect in August for hunting, fishing. Pennsylvania's interior is beautiful. Oregon, in my opinion, is the most beautiful state. The rainbows are the most vivid in color!

You’re not going to be that cold during the summer. Winter time is a different story, but summer is quite mild and nice.

Honestly I’ve been told from friends which they loved the trip to Alaska immensely. They said best way to visit and see Alaska is on a cruise ship up the west coast of America to Alaska especially if you don’t like the cold and don’t really want to ruff it by hiking on trails in the cold or even driving in the wilderness. Being on the cruise ship you don’t have to worry about anything on the trip it’s all provided for you.

Southern US is too hot for an August visit. Colorado Springs as a base would give easy access to areas in the mountains where August temperatures are perfect. The only drawback of Colorado is taking a day to adjust to the altitude. Also, buy sunblock because thin air doesn't repel the UV very well.

I've taken two cruises to Alaska in my life, and they were AMAZING. They go up the coast and you visit a ton of the little coastal towns. During the part of the year that the cruises run the weather was actually great. We were told both times we went that we had the best weather of the year lol. I didn't even wear a jacket on most of the days.

I'm from Michigan, it has my vote if you are taking votes for where you should go, especially the Upper Peninsula is awesome! Tons of waterfalls and there is all the water you want you want in the whole state, you can't go two miles in any direction without running into some kind of fresh water, be it a river, a lake, a pond, a crick, swamps, and let's not forget the Great Lakes, and don't forget they are dangerous, every bit as dangerous as the ocean, even more-so because rip currents are unexpected there! Many people drown every year because they underestimate the lakes!

For anyone wondering from sone who lives near Seattle, it does not rain as much as people make it seem, we get around 150 days with rain a year, which is less than half the days in a year, and about half of those 150 it only sprinkles, sometimes only for a few minutes, then it's dry the rest of the day, mainly it's just really cloudy in fall and winter. But once we get to spring and summer it's hot and sunny, summer here in recent years has been very hot, usually get's to the 90's or even above 100, a few years back it hit a peak of 110, so if you ever want to visit, do it in spring or summer.

I spent most of my life in Pennsylvania and hated the cold. Then I moved to Alaska because there was work on the North Slope oil fields. My first winter was week after week of -50 degree F and brutal winds. Since then the cold doesn't me at all. I think my body just had to figure out how to adjust. Yesterday I was shopping around here and there wearing shorts and a T shirt. Temps were between 5 and fifteen degrees. It didn't bother me a bit.

You could visit the interior of Alaska during July were the average temp is around 70F degrees. Temperatures do reach into the 90'sF on occasion. They also average 19 hours of daylight there too. I have to mention my home state of North Carolina. We have the Great Smoky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains in the West. Home of the Mile High Bridge of Grandfather Mtn. in Linville. The largest private residence in the US is also found in Asheville N.C. Biltmore Estate and Gardens is open to the public for touring but is still listed as a private residence. The foothills of the state is the home of Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure. Charlotte NC is the second largest city in the southeast United States. Wilmington on the coast is home of the U.S.S. North Carolina, a decommissioned battleship from W.W. 2. Lastly I have to mention The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on the NC outerbanks..

Starting at 5:02 is the Mackinac (MACK-uh-naw) Bridge, which connects the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan, and is 5 mi./8 km. long, and it takes you across lakes Superior and Michigan. He mispronounced Isle Royale, in that he gave it a French pronunciation, which it should be. However, over time, though the spelling didn't change, it got Anglicized to 'I'll royal' from the original 'eel roy-AL'. Someone else who mispronounced Zion N.P. as ZYE-ahn; when correctly pronounced it rhymes with "lion", the same as the large hill in Jerusalem for which it was named. The odd-looking rocks at 11:22 are found in Goblin Valley State Park, where the Tim Allen movie (can't remember its name) as a spaceman fought with the rock monster. miss-SUE-luh (Missoula) is actually mih-ZOO-luh, Montana. Jono, just to clarify, just like Antarctica, Alaska has a summer, and during that time, the snow melts, and even in Fairbanks, it can warm up into the 90s. Go in the summer, and you'd be fine. I know, since I drove there back in '84--solo. He pronounced Alaska's Kenai Fjords National Park as kuh-NYE; it's actually KEEN-eye.

August is a great month to be in the mountains. You will find a lot of fun events going on in western Colorado, northern New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, and all the way up into Canada. Summer is a very active time for the Western culture so there will be lots of rodeos and fairs, not just in the big cities🤠 Music and art festivals are aplenty in the mountain towns and high desert alike.

As a fishing enthusiast, I think once you got as taste of the abundant fishing opportunities in Alaska you would consider putting up with the cold. That said there are people who live there in the spring and summer and live in the lower 48 during the winter. My late aunt had a carpet company in Anchorage and another outlet in Hawaii in the 1990s. You can guess where they spent their winters, lol.

August is the hottest month in the year. It is also one of the most active Hurricane months. October is in the fall, meaning colored trees in the north. Much better weather . Spring time is the best. March, April are great months. Look into the tourist season where you want to go. If you go "off " tourist season hotel cost should be lower.

August . . is SUMMER in the US - so IF you come in August please be sure to check the local temps -- In the southern states, you will have very high humidity in August...same with most of Texas and Florida - it will be hot and humid . . . Northern and Southern California would be okay (still very warm) - but California is expensive .. and very touristy! The mid-west will be in the 80's with moderate humidity and the New England States will be okay as will places like Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Idaho etc.. I know saving money is a biggie - I feel ya on that - but just be aware of our August summers here!! I am one of those lucky American's that has been to every state over my 70 years with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii . . maybe I'll get to those two someday...

When you see snow, Don’t Go In Winter! Likewise there are States to avoid in Summer like Arizona and Nevada 117 degrees is HOT! Southern States the Humidity is High and Hot! Some States are great Summer, Spring and Fall without humidity or high heat (North Western States from mid-Colorado West.) You could see Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain National Park (we have Buc-ees), Oregon Idaho or Montana and Washington State. Northern California is the Golden Gate, Redwoods and if you must, rent a car to drive down Coastal highway 1 to L.A. Staying in a region you see more and can save money.

The Wreck you were talking about is The Edmund Fitzgerald. There is a song sung by Gordon Lightfoot called 'The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald'. In November, the lake (The Great Lakes has more fresh water combined than all other lakes in the world.), can get stormy, and the Edmund Fitzgerald was loaded with Iron Ore for the last run of the season. It was supposed to go to Toledo, Ohio, but it sank in Whitefish Bay. Lake Superior is very cold and Native Americans said the lake never gives up the dead. It is true. Maine and the rest of the New England states has beautiful scenery, in Connecticut, one of America's most beautiful highways is the Merritt Parkway and another beautiful roadway is Connecticut Route 169 in the quiet corner of Connecticut (The northeastern part of Connecticut). The summer is when schools are out here, however, some parents do homeschool. When you visit, in August, I'd visit Maine, New Hampshire (recommend visiting Mount Washington, you might see snow at the summit even if the weather is warm). Hope you pick a region of the USA, instead of going here and there. If you want to visit an amusement park, I'd tell you to visit Lake Compounce, the oldest amusement park in continuous operation.

Took two of my grandsons on a trip to Austin Texas in August for a reunion and the first thing they said when we stopped for gas and hour after crossing the state line into Texas was "Why is it so hot here ". I told them it was only 102 degrees. And after about 4 hours they wanted to know if we were there yet.

I grew up in Virginia. I spent my summers in Pennsylvania (where my grandmother lives). I now live and work in California (in the Silicon Valley near San Francisco). As beautiful as states like California, Hawaii and Alaska truly are, I still think that my favorite states are Texas, Tennessee and Virginia. This is more because of the PEOPLE in those states. I live in a beautiful state with many wonderful things to do and see. I think that Yosemite might be one of the most beautiful place in the world (even more than Hawaii). However, I really like the food and people of Texas, Tennessee and Virginia.

I agree with you about the temperatures. The thing with the United States is that its so huge you have to pick travel by zones and season because some areas can get very cold or very hot. I have been fortunate to travel to Europe several times. The geography, history, architecture and diversity of cultures are amazing. But honestly like many Americans my preference is to travel the USA. With limited finances, vacation, and just time ... I want to see during my lifetime, God's awe inspiring creations, that in the US, I think, are probably like no where else in the universe.

I lived in the biggest city, Anchorage, which has about 300,000 people. During my family's 5 years there, it was warmer in the winter than most of the northern states in the continental U.S. because of the Japanese ocean current. Also you get paid to live there. The Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), is the annual oil tax rebate given to every resident over 2 years old. Also, there are NO SNAKES in Alaska! Whatcha think now?

I would switch Montana with California. Why? What does Montana lack? ⛱️ Beaches, deserts and PCH. I think I would switch Hawaii with Alaska. Simply because of weather. Hawaii is 364 days of outside fun. Alaska in the Winter (Oct-Apr)? Who wants to explore in 10° weather? I am biased. I live in California & have lived in Hawaii.

I think doing an expensive RV and touring a bunch of states for your first visit is probably not a great idea. I would just do a car and some mid-range hotels in a specific region. I think you'll get a lot more out of it than seeing highways.
