They are very much inspired by Metallica. Especially in their early stuff. They also have toured together several times. And James Hetfield himself has said many times that he is a big fan of Volbeat.
@Cvillain6262 жыл бұрын
Yea what really makes this song work is that he's always thrown in little Hetfield-style growls at the end of words so it fits right in and just feels like another Volbeat song
@rostislavrodomilov52492 жыл бұрын
Какое в задницу вдохновение…. Volbeat просто взял один из треков Metallica и поимел её , её же треком. Это называется, вбить гвоздь в гроб под названием Metallica.

James Hetfield calls Michael (the vocalist in Volbeat) "little E" as in a Mini Elvis, and Michael has that tattooed on his wrist. They have toured together many times.

This cover was like when Metallica covers Diamond Head. There is already a similar sound between them due to being inspired by them, but each takes their inspired sound and makes the song their own.

I'd these sounds are similar. I am black because white and black are totally the same thing.

Dude they literally just dropped a new banger!! It's called shotgun blues, it's so heavy🔥🔥 Definitely reminds me a lot of their second studio album rock the rebel metal the devil, that record was seriously heavy. They are definitely going back to their roots. You should most definitely check it out👌🏻👌🏻

Man Volbeat never disappoints. Every single song they release is an absolute banger. What they did here with don't tread on me was complete and total gold. I have also heard they were heavily inspired by Metallica, and they also sound a lot like Life of Agony. Matter of fact when they first came out I thought it was Keith Caputo from the River Runs Red but it was a different guy all together.
@heaven4hockeycards3 жыл бұрын
Michael Poulsen is James Hetfield Fav. singer... Some bad mou th says that his voice is a mix of James and Cher lollll They were part twice of Metallica Tour. Doc Holiday, The mirror and the ripper, Wild rover of hell have also metallica vides in it and the last one Shotgun Blues... Look at when They do Enter Sandman with Lars Ulrich. Lars also played Guitar gangster and cadillac blood. Look at that

YES YES YES I keep waiting for more Reactors to react to this cover! I think, besides Chris Stapleton and maybe even The HU, this is one of the best on that album! Thanks for the great reaction!! 🤘😝🤘 I can't post the link for some reason but check out Volbeat doing Don't Tread On Me the other day, 25th, LIVE in Louisville, KY

Volbeat has toured extensively with Metallica. They also have covered Enter Sandman live w Lars on drums. They also have a tune called "Wild Rover of Hell" which is basically an ode to driving with stereo pumping and Metallica tunes

Michael is soooo vocally talented ,.and his voice is so unique . I know many compare him to James Hetfield . Hetfield is good ,and i love Metallica but Michael in my oppinion is in a league off his own ! Ty for reacting to this awwwweeeeeeesooome band. Plz do Shotgun Blues , Becomming , lola Montez etc next

the similarities between Volbeat and Metallica are there. Volbeat opened for Metallica on a large portion of their u.s. tour, a few years ago. -The majority of Volbeat and Lars Ulrik are Danish. - Jacob Hansen (Hansen studio) who produces for Volbeat, has previously worked for "take one studio" in Burbank U.S. where G.N.R. recorded their records.

I was lucky enough to see Volbeat open for Metallica back in 2009 ? Somewhere around there. Absolutely mind blowing. I enjoyed their performance more than Metallica.

A friend of mine is a drummer in an AC DC tribute band. These guys are brilliant. Anyway, the drummer told me if you are gonna do a cover of a song, make it just as good or better than the original. It's OK to put a bit of a spin on it, just to match your bands style. But not so much that the crowd can't follow along with it. Especially the very well known songs. To me, that makes perfect sense.
@NeverDieAloneMusic2 жыл бұрын
If you haven't heard it before (or don't remember) check out their song "Ecotone". It's a bonus song off "Outlaw Gentlemen" and it's probably the closest "Metallica sounding" song they have (besides this cover of course lol). Alot of people (myself included) describe their sound as a mix between Metallica and rockabilly Elvis Presly.
@Liquid05111978 Жыл бұрын
after taking his time.... this is fantastic....... yea, better than the original, but that is open to interpretation

This was easily one of my favorite 3 or 4 tracks from the Blacklist album. You're right, they found a great way to make it their own while keeping enough of the original's feel that it doesn't sound too weird.
