Yeah, Sofia should have gone through, but those tie break rules back then....if it was the televote she would have gone through. Stay was such a boring song, tbh. And I just heard it and already have to wonder what it sounded like.

The War Is Not over is one of the best eurovision songs ever and it came 10th in the semi final. That's just crazy. And then it finished 5th in the final

Reminds me of Estonia last year, 10th in the semi, 8th in the final.

Felt a little unfair calling a lot 2000’s songs here dated. While it’s true. So much of the songs, including ones that did better were equally dated, so it didn’t feel like the best judgment to those songs.

At n.1 they should have put Zena 🇧🇾 which qualified over Tulia 🇵🇱 thanks to a jury error if my memory serves😅

Tulia NEEDED to go to the final. I’m still mad that Poland didn’t Q in 2019

2006 Turkey kind of stole the spotlight from Belgium (Kate Ryan), because of epic performance (the song would not).

No offense, but most of the songs of the 2000s even if they are dated, are still great to listen and when they did a good performance, it was spectacular. Most of the new songs are forgettable and most of them have mediocre stagings and performances (I can choose around 15 songs from 2024 alone), not to mention zero appeal to listen since lyrics sucks on most Eurovision songs today. Also, Croatia 2004 is still a popular song even today, it is a timeless classic, compared to Poland 2017 which was the definition of filler. Also, Malta 2004 did better in a televote only era then most of their songs during the 2010s and 2020s with the jury.

Where is 2004 Croatia popular, certainly not amongst Eurofans. Or are you referring to Croatia specifically? And let's not make out like the early 2000s had that many good songs, most of them were very poor quality both lyrically and musically

@@sav0001 I should have been more direct but entire balkan region knows about the song (i heard it couple of times on radio these last few years). An no early 2000s were not in quality, but they were expections which i listen to this day and even if they were not, they were either enjoyable to listen or had a charming performance (Malta 2004), and tbh 2016 edition of songs are already outdated in so many areas that i can lump them together, the only difference is that the 2016 edition is and to quote my best friend: "Nope, I’m not really in love with the general musical quality this year. I mean, it’s nice to see that almost anything is radio-worthy. it’s just too bad that almost everything sounds like a single’s B-side, or an album filler track. Where’s the A-stuff?!" And not i don't care what the fans think, because the definition of an echo-chamber is what they are and i more trust the casual audience then themselves (hence why i think her opinion is bad).

@@AlesiaMichelle My problems isn't bad takes, okay, for that i have my family whenever they watch the contest. My issue is the term "outdated" which means its bad, even though Eurovision is always ten years backwards ever since the 1980s, and ignoring a song because "outdated" is the definition of "cringeworthy", since some of the songs that were listed were actually quite nice and some are dare i even say "timeless", compared to modern ESC which just screams "trendy" which will make it outdated in couple of years (Looking at you Netta). And no offense, calling Malta 2004 outdated even though it reminds me of Disney songs from yesteryear, really has a charming feel, and a good performance that gave them 12th place in a year where the televote ruled with an iron fist. It is not even in my top 10 of 2004 but i can see the appeal and charm, compared to Poland 2017 which felt forced and under-performed on so many levels, with a weak chorus to boot. There are trash in every year of the contest, and there are certainly plenty in the last 7-8 years, which i can also describe "outdated" with some of them.

In the 2000s was Eurovision far better then novadays, because everyone knowed who they are and there were also not satanisrtic rituals and sex simulations on the stage.
@sav0001
@sav0001 23 сағат бұрын
Completely disagree, for me the songs and performances are much higher quality now and most countries are trying to compete rather than just filling spots

@@sav0001 well I also disagree with you in the 2000s there where much more countires and there was also a higher diversety of the music genres then nova days where the most of the songs look like the same and also in the 2000s there where more then 40 countri es particpating wich is not the case in the 2020 where half of european countires arent participating and also in the Eurovision in the 2020s has become to much woke and americanizaed and I have the feeling that EBU is trying to make MTV EMAs from the Eurovision song contest.
