Yeah I thought so too. Kinda sad as well since Dracula as a character is so well known for his wit and eloquence. So much wasted potential. There are plenty of things you could totally roast Vlad for but was never brought up. The fact he got knocked out of power twice, sold into slavery by his own dad, constantly betrayed by his own allies, spent 14 years as a Hungarian prisoner, claimed to stand against the Turks but was brought into power in the first place with the help of the Ottoman army, he was short and looked ugly as sin according to his contemporaries, etc.

Vlad the hat nailer is a reference to an ottoman envoy who arrived to his palace wearing a turban and when he refused to take it off in Vlad’s presence he had his men drive nails through the turban into his skull saying “fine, now you never need to take it off”

I like that the depiction of Dracula they chose was the classic Christopher Lee one from the Hammer films, that said however he was nothing compared to Vlad and just for the nosfer-achoo line deserves the loss, and was just as cheesy as Adam Sandler's Hotel Transylvania! Vlad was frickin' amazing with line after line hitting home everytime. It's not that his father was Dracula, which he wasn't, but rather that Dracula means " Son of the Dragon" referring somewhat to both Satan who was also called the Dragon and Glad was extremely vicious to his enemies but far more likely referring to how Draculas father was part of the Order of the Dragon. Also he impaled whole and alive in a horrifying process that took hours or days as it was the victims own body weight that would slowly push them down further and further until final agonizing death. He did these and other acts like nailing the hats/helms of emissaries before sending only their heads back all as types of scare tactics in hopes of intimidating his enemies into negotiating it not flat out giving up as he knew in a long protracted head on fight he would simply straight up lose.

Yes, Vlad's father's name was Vlad Dracul, but Vlad's name was also Vlad Dracula. The image of him as a vampire comes from anecdotes that he would leave the impaled bodies of victims on stakes near the battlefields/castles he was at, and dine under them while the blood would still drip down the stakes. He also drank red wine, so it looked to some as if he was drinking blood itself.

Hello Curtis, Quick heads up for you: Vlad the Impaler was a Wallachian voievod (prince/king equivalent in Western Europe), and his name Dracula actually comes from being part of the Order of the Dragon. He was "of the dragon", an order created to defend Christianity from Ottomans. Dracul is just an old word. Today it also means "devil". He did not drink the blood of his enemies, that was just propaganda started by a bunch of merchants to slander him in Europe after a scandal regarding trade between Wallachia and German merchants in Transylvania. Go, our good hero Vlad!

I'd say it was more than just that one line, but that one definitely hurt him. Self depreciating lines in a rap battle only work if you're already destroying your opponent, and Dracula wasn't. A lot of his lines were bad by comparison. His opening line referencing the Count from Sesame Street, and the start of his second verse about being surprised Vlad can read had weird timing to it. I'll give him a pass for the Nosfer-achoo line because while I hated it even as a self proclaimed lover of bad puns, enough people seem to like it that I'll give it to him. Plus, Vlad just had much better lines in general, because Dracula's lines ironically had no bite.

@Ven Den Lol yeah, vampires have so many stupid pathetic weaknesses in most stories that if they existed in real life with those same weaknesses, they wouldn't be much of a threat. You're safe from them as long as you... A) Stay in your house and don't invite them in. B) Being outside during the day when the sun's out. C) Have some garlic bread so even if out at night you're still safe. Only vampires such as Castlevania's Dracula would be scary since he has many powerful magic spells/abilities and doesn't have any of those stupid traditional vampire weaknesses, he only has a weakness to holy weapons.
