Yeah, I don't know. According to my own experience this is a delusion. I lived 35 years in Germany as a Pole (my parents immigrated when I was 2 years old) and I still considered myself a Pole despite living there almost all of my life. Recentcly I came back to Poland because I wasn't happy in Germany anymore (due to security issues with immigrants, but not only that). Anyway, I think it's really not that easy in real life. "Polishness" such as "Europeaness" is more than just culture... .

Polish culture is famous for its hospitality. For centuries, Poland has provided shelter to many persecuted religious groups and nations (Jews, Tatars, Ukrainians). Illegal immigration has nothing to do with accepting guests. It is rather about anonymous, random (or not) visitors who want to break into your country. If they violate the law from the beginning, what is the certainty that they will not do it later? It is a duty (especially a moral one) to provide shelter for refugees. That is why we help millions of Ukrainians. However, refugees or ordinary migrants also have duties that they must remember. The most important of them is respecting the law, and the next - assimilation and taking care of one's own financial support over time (if age and health allow it).

The Poles notice how badly it went in Western Europe with illegal immigration. We actually feel safer in Poland than in Western European countries. We are used to having a homogeneous society so we tend to be very cautious about losing it. My family and I lived in Germany in 2017-2019 when this big influx of immigrants came. I remember thinking - who am I to judge those people - I’m a newcomer as well, for economic reasons just like them. But it’s true that coming from a neighboring country made it much easier for us to integrate - the values were similar, the religious background the same, even our behavior was similar to the German one.

You must understand that many of these migrants who came to Germany in 2015-2016 from the Middle East come from a region were there is no such thing as equal gender rights and respect for women privacy and they also view European women as "wh=res", easy meat and so on. Also, if you look at the data then many of these "migrants" were overwhelmingly young men with low levels of education so this also created an asymmetry in the gender balance ( more men in certain age groups ) and this creates many "losers" who can't mate and that is why they resort to sexual violence.

Being yours and Dominik Tarczyński's fan I have to express my concern. In your prevois video Dominik said that Poland is killing illegal immigrants, I don't know how such an experienced speaker could say publicly such a BS. It's too serious to consider it a figure of speach. Unfortunately you spread that fake news using it as a click bait. Ask Dominik how many illegals were killed by Polish border guards/soldiers, as far as I know none (warning shots were/are fired frequently). You don't have to know that but he should - Polish border guards and soldiers who are defending the border have to follow very strict rules of engagement, I suppose more strict than in other civilized countries. In fact, even if they are allowed to use weapon (eg. self defence) they unfortunately don't. Why? Because except disciplinary and legal consequences, "killer" might be stigmatized by mainstream media and public opinion. To sum up, without proper research thought-provoking discussion is just thoughtless. Would be nice if Dominic could clarify/ take back his very unfortunate statement. You know the quote - "A lie can travel half way around the woldwhile the truth is putting on its shoes". So guys, don't go down that path. Fingers crossed

Hi guys, I am a Pole who has been living outside Poland for over 30 years now... about refugees in general... as I see it... I would like to tell you a parable: If my house has just been flooded and my neighbour offers me shelter until I can return home, I will not start rebuilding his house to my liking. So the refugees are welcome in Poland ...if they do not try to remodel the local customs until they can return home ... otherwise they are not welcome in Poland. I think that's understandable everywhere.

Polish people are hardworkers, so they respect nations/people who also work and stick to the rules of our country. I think that Asians are percived as a hardworkers too, so we like them. I have some kind of the observation that in China or Japan they have similar customs and culture, for example such an ordinary and simple thing as taking off shoes at home especially when you are quest. It is building experience when someone have respect for your home. It is my role if I say that you can walk in with your shoes on feet. It's maybe silly comparison but so accurate.

Very interesting vid, while listening to you from the KFC in Krakow :). Knowing Where is Wes channel a bit already (since I can relate to some of his videos), I would like to propose my view on Poland and its refugees position. In general, I think the Poles aren't able yet to open their borders for any marginal kind (far away from themselves and their culture and out of humanity). I think it has to do with their rapid economic growth and not everyone benefitting from it. They are in the first place selective with who is able to get in (for example Ukranian women and childeren), but any other refugee type (Arabs for example, especially men) are just not in their own interest. What is interesting is that why this Arabs don't move towards the UAE and Qatar for example is that these country never signed for the refugee treaty after the Second World War and therefore don't let anyone in their country. However, Poles are being criticized by the European Commission, because they don't let non white refugees in, while getting billions of investments since their break with the Soviet Union, in order to build their economy. So in the end, does it work to open your borders specifically for people you actually want to reside in your country in order to maintain safety? Yes. Are Poles racist? I think more realist since they needed foreigners for specific blue collar jobs for example, but they just don't believe in the ideals Western Europe is pushing on them, while still willing to be part of the richer European infrastructure. Just rather say, every household with its own rules, whether you like it or not, but I think it works because it is wonderful over here :D

Sorry for double comment. But I want to call out funny cultural misunderstanding. We, Polish, are indeed religious, and indeed Christian, but we are also Pagans baptised into Catholics. Which means, that we took confesion and absolution after very seriously, which differences us from bit bigot Protestants. If you know us better you feel that bit pagan and hippie vibe to our religion. You say Domink loves Poland and what he stands for and what he believes in. You can't really say that about anyone based only on what they say. Especially on what they say in front of TV cameras or on social media. It's naive to assume one might understand a person and what he loves or doesn't if you haven't been observing them for a long time. Dominik is a member of PiS (Law and Justice party) - a political party that strongly emphasises nativism and Polishness but these are just the banners of the movement, their pitch to the voters. And a lot of voters in Poland like to hear this, giving such political parties a big electoral advantage. In reality PiS is basically a criminal sindicate dressed up as a political party. When they were in power organized corruption and nepotism was through the roof and they came dangerously close to Orban's Hungary, where the government controls almost all of the media and state institutions are basically political spoils. Not just on top but also the mid-level positions in institutions, state-owned companies etc). It's systematic eleborate robbery with no regard for the country or any semblence of competence. This is what was happening in Poland until 2023 and while there will always be corruption there are few political movements in Western Europe that are so eleborate in their drive to pump out as much money from their own country (national budget, municipal budgets, European funds) into their private pockets. One may tell people's priorities when different interests collide and it was telling that PiS Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized several elaborate schemes to sell massive amounts Polish visas to Afircans and Asians, often people without any background checks at all. Suddenly Poland was the 2nd country in Europe in terms of issuing visas to non-Europeans. All this while maintaining their anti-immigrant rhetoric. Dominik and his friends are nihilistic grifters that know just what to say to get the votes the need in Poland.

The problem with illegal / legal immigration is the fact that those illegal immigrants would probably prefer to come as legal immigrants but for some reason are not able to (no war in their country to claim asylum, etc). For white people from developed nations it’s usually easy to move - they get jobs, rent apartments, etc. I imagine it’s much harder for people coming from poorer countries with other religions and skin color. But at the end of the day Europe is too small to make room for all impoverished people from around the world, so we must instill some barriers. And this brings illegal immigration.

Not being citizens of Poland and not following Mr. Tarczyński's actions over the past years, it’s easy to get the impression that he is a good and warm-hearted person. :P It’s hard to disagree with his arguments about immigration.
