I am 63, Deep Purple is part of the soundtrack of my life, we were very lucky. Really happy to see the young enjoying and appreciating it as well 😊

Being a bit younger I only learned about Deep Purple in 1982 when I was trying to discover what "heavy metal" was all about. But I did experience their very first concert when in April 1968, shortly before I was born, they played at "Parkskolen" school in Taastrup, Denmark, next door to our house. They were advertised as "Roundabouts". On stage they announced their name change to Deep Purple. First concert with that name. Playing very loud I would've felt the music.

Love DEEP PURPLE , they have way too many cool tunes to name here , this is a great one !! But , hey , have you heard of Johnny Winter ?? You should check out Johnny and Edgar Winter doing Tobacco Road live , you will definitely get a kick out of that one ! They are albino brothers that spent their time growing up learning how to play instruments , Johnny Winter mainly stuck to the guitar , but Edgar Winter played everything , as you will find out if you check this one out !! And the audience was told to be quite so this could be recorded , and yes , the drummer is Ian PAICE !! And the singer is Ian Gillan , John Lord on organ , Ritchie Blackmore on guitar , and Roger Glover on bass , fantastic line up!!!

Thank you Jennifer for sharing your first time experience of this gem of a performance, it was interesting. To me this is among the most heartfelt performances of all. The audience were quiet because the band asked for it so they wouldn't interfere with the sound on the recording. It was a TV show called "Doing Their Thing", released 21st august 1970. So it must have been just before singer Ian Gillan was hired to perform the "Jesus" parts of Andrew L. Webber's musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" (album).

@@REACTIONDIARIES Thank you for the link, I have bookmarked it so I can check it out after the holidays. B.t.w. the prominent 1960s-70s British football (soccer) player "George Best" is in the audience. In the full 4-songs footage _"Deep Purple - Doing Their Thing"_ he is seen in pink shirt behind the drummer at the 18,00 mins. mark. As a side note I never saw Deep Purple myself but did have a live experience with them. 20th April 1968, a couple of months before I was born, British band _"Roundabouts"_ played a gig at the local "Parkskolen" school next to our home in Taastrup, Denmark. But when on stage they announced they had just decided upon a new name for themselves: _"Deep Purple"._ This was the very first Deep Purple concert ever. The band played... _very_ loud, so I am sure I have heard or at least felt the music. Is it any wonder that I like rock music?

Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early- to mid-seventies". They were listed in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as "the globe's loudest band" for a 1972 concert at London's Rainbow Theatre and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

The Lady sitting emotionless must have been talked into going as it looks like her daughter may be sitting next to her. Or maybe the Mother told her daughter, "You are not going to this by yourself.." ha Also back then, long hair rockers were looked down on because of their long hair. Anyway, Deep Purple is one of my favorite bands. I was in Durango, Colorado for the summer of 1974. My Aunt & Uncle were out of town. They let me drive their Cadillac Eldrorado front wheel drive while they were gone. I had just come out of a music store in downtown Durango with a brand new 8-track tape of Deep Purple's Machine Head Album (8-track), got in the car, loaded the tape and Highway Star, my favorite song, I was listening too and I was at a stoplight...it turned green, and I forgot to wait as I was turning left, realized a car was crossing and stepped on the gas instead of the brake...you can imagine the rest..ha. Love Deep Purple.

I will recommend for you, to hear more music recommended by your husband ;-) If not: Uriah Heep, Jetrho Tull, Yes, Camel, King Crimson. (my guess is that probably already on his playlist, but maybe you need some push from other direction - you will not be disappointed)

All light sources should be behind the camera. The glare from that ceiling light bounces right off your hair and into my eyes. With the nearly all white background, the scene looks washed out & started giving me a headache.

Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I watched a lot of "How-to" videos and they all said to put the light in front of you...Oh, wait- that's what you said isn't it...LOL. Read it wrong. I will work on it! It was nighttime, and most of the time I record during the day, so I don't think they are all like this.
