Everything about this is brilliant. The atmosphere, Michael’s voice and sexiness, the drum beat, and even playing the harmonica at the same time as a guitar! What wizards they were.

Ugh, I’m SO jealous! This is a moment I’d love to time travel back to. I was only 16 though-but a huge INXS fan-and live in central Arkansas, so no chance my parents were gonna fly me to London for a concert! 😂 I finally saw them live in 2006-so, no Michael, JD Fortune was fronting the band-and its still one of the best concerts I’ve been to. The most fun, energetic show, and as usual the whole band is so tight, they all play and interact so well together.

Just found this, I'm doing my best to mimic Michael's movements and voice for a Southern California Tribute band called Mystified. He's a tough one to copy. After eight months of rehearsals we did our first publicity show for friends and family. I really had to let go and just try to channel Micheal the best I could from studying the whole Wembley concert. The crowd we brought in went nuts when we did Suicide Blond and having everyone in unison singing Never Tear Us Apart was one of the coolest sensations I've ever had in my life. I absolutely love INXS fans! I had a pair of the black and white stripes and stars pants custom made and we did a band photo shoot out in the middle of the desert in December. Out in the middle of nowhere cars on the highway were honking and yelling out of their windows "Micheal Hutchence" or "INXS" all because I was wearing the iconic pants from that show... it's crazy how well liked INXS was and still is to this day.

Next INXS, What You Need at Wembley again..same concert. This is the best one you've watched because you got to see them actually play, sing and move around. They were phenonmenal live, that was their super power. Their videos are also very good. This entire concert is on DVD and they recently had it remastered and showed it in some theaters, right before Covid. They played all their hits, which were many, and they're all great to watch.

With the exception of a few, Michael wrote all the songs for INXS. Not only was he gorgeous on the outside, but he was beautiful on the inside. Like velvet. Maybe when you grow a little older you'll come to understand what you refer to "edging on the cheesy side" in his lyrics, is what every woman wants from a man. Why do you think Michael even stayed friends with all his ex-girlfriends? In the song New Sensation the lyrics say it all - "I'll be your shoulder , you can tell me all, don't keep it in you- that's the reason why I'm here - now, are you ready for a new sensation?" That makes a woman even more attracted to a man.😍💥⚡

Michael hutchence had a stage presence similar to Freddie Mercury.he gets the crowd to call back like Freddie did at Wembley. He was sexy.i fancied him. The title of the song is the name on his then girlfriend fellow Aussie singer whos still going Kylie minogue's boxed hair dye. Would love to have seen how he developed as an artist with his performance and writing songs. Rip Michael.

This feels like INXS paying homage to James Brown. Not just because of the incessant groove that just goes on for the full length of the song, but the ”you wanna make her” line sometimes echoes the feel of the classic ”get on uppah” line of Sex Machine. But yeah, they were a great live band. (Australian bands often are - they have often paid their dues on the club circuit before getting signed). To my ears INXS took what was initially a sort of new wave idiom, added some funk, and ultimately came up with something that sounded like nothing else. It was such a breath of fresh air when they broke internationally in the late 80s.

You're right, the singer does matter, and Michael Hutchence was one of the best. I had the privilege to see them during their Kick Tour in June of '88. It's still the best concert I've ever seen, period! I also saw them twice more in the 90s. I don't take offense to the other songs being called cheesy; I take exception to that comment. I don't know which songs you are referring to but, INXS on a bad day is better than most bands at their best and I sincerely mean it! However, Suicide Blonde is one of their best and one of my favorites. P.S. I know people often compare him to Jim Morrison. I happen to be in the camp that thinks his swager is more like Jagger😁

Not 100% live, a little bit of sound engineering used on this song. There's an electronic marimba type of percussion sound playing at 2:56 (nobody on stage is playing that). Also Charlie Musselwhite plays the harmonica riff on the album, and I'm 99% certain Andrew Farris is miming to Charlie's recording because you can't play the harmonica like that without using hands, and I've seen Andrew play the riff live for real once and it wasn't good. Having said that INXS always performed extremely well live and most of their hits didn't need any extra help off stage, but nevertheless Suicide Blonde did. Would've sounded like shit otherwise.
