I love how artists grow and change. Queen is one of a kind.

I grew up with Queen so I'm not objective but I think this song is just a banger! They could rock, they could pop, they could vibe... and Freddie's voice is always goose bumps. You should watch this performed at LIVE AID (and the music video is one of the first videos I can recall watching on MTV). I also suggest you watch 'I want to break free' music video: it was banned at the time by US MTV, but for us European it was amazing! It was so much fun!

It is a banger! I love the song 🎧 The live aid ‘85 performance is way legendary for sure, I will show it to Ty soon. Love the futuristic video also…….I think America was just way too conservative back then to appreciate “I want to break free”. The US missed out on later Queen music before Freddie passed, what a shame!

The diversity of musical styles is one of the biggest characteristics of Queen, but if we consider their live performances, the group would fit more like a hard rock band. What I like most about Radio Ga Ga are historical references to the radio broadcasts of War of the Worlds - by Orson Welles - and Superman, in addition to the criticism of the MTV video clip era. Ironically, the Radio Ga Ga musical video also generated one of the most impressive audience interactions, during the double clap of the chorus.

Awesome love the insight! Great contribution to the show, Queen fans always bring us such cool details about the band. The double clap 👏🏻 is legendary live for sure! Thx so much 😊

I totally understand Ty's reaction to the song. I hated it when I first saw the video on MTV. HOWEVER, my opinion changed when I saw the Live Aid performance. Maybe try a reaction to that iconic performance and see if his opinion changes a bit. Fun fact: Lady Gaga got her name because she used to cover this song when she was starting up. 🤘

Great reaction as always,I think a harder song like (Queen- I want it all) would be great for a reaction, hell of a lot different to Radio Ga Ga and an absolute banger.
@reactionextraction2 жыл бұрын
Yes great suggestion for us. I was thinking about either “I want it all” or “killer queen” next for Ty. Hard to choose for sure!

I read that when Roger presented this to the band it had a smoother, more flowing feel. Freddie suggested adding the rhythmic/techno feel. It just shows how the band was willing to take an idea and run with it. 4 individuals working together to create magic.

Maybe should have watched the Live Aid version. The crowd adds a whole another dimension. At the time The Works was released people thought Queen was past its prime. But, they were wrong. That said, Queen's sound changed drastically between The Game and A Kind of Magic.

I love this song. It's a powerful tribute to radio as video was taken over during that time in the mid 80's.
