If you happened to notice a crazy lady in front row (end of catwalk) with red dress - that was me!!! Lol!!! That was the best night of my entire life so far! I am 62, so that's saying something! HaHa!! This was recorded at the KFC YumYum Center in Louisville, Kentucky on Dec. 11th during The Evergreen Tour 2021. I live in NC, but that's the closest they came to us, so my daughter & I took a train (coz I do NOT fly!) & 24 hours later we got there. It was fun, except the night before the concert is when all those tornadoes ripped thru portions of Kentucky, & although we didn't get any tornadoes in Louisville, we did get very severe thunder & lightning storms. My daughter & I were in our hotel room hiding under the covers all night! 😳😳. But the concert, including the VIP was awesome! I got to show them my "PENTAHOLIC" tattoo & they thought that was cool. But I had no idea that Ptx was being filmed for a virtual concert that night! His was the closing number, & it blew me away!!!! Great experience! Wish you could have been there!! Thank you for the reaction. I love how you gush about Ptx - at this point, I think you are one of us!

This was professionally filmed at one of their shows for a closed circuit concert for those who couldn't get out to the actual performance. I bought my ticket about ten minutes after they were announced. It was a fantastic way to experience their concert in the comfort of your own home. I hope they continue to do this for furture concerts.

So fun fact! I was at this concert in person this past holiday season. This is in Louisville Kentucky at the KFC Yum Center! We had a little over 10,000 in attendance for that concert. It was certainly a concert I’ll never forget. It was a couple of days after the tornados that tore through Kentucky claiming a number of lives. They sang Amazing Grace and had a moment of silence for those who lost their lives. This was also Kevin’s hometown show. I hope this info is useful!

So, D, this is what happens when you go to a PTX concert and they Take You To Church! This is the song from Sister Act 2 and they actually do some of the choreography. Their concerts tend to be big like this, in arena's, stadiums, etc. 2 of the 3 that I've been to have been massive crowds in large arena's and tons of fun, the energy is incredible! The first one was when they first started touring after the Sing Off and here in Chapel Hill, NC we have a large club venue called Cats Cradle that holds 750 people, downtown near UNC Campus and that was where I saw them live for the 1st time and it was just as awesome! I have never walked away from a PTX concert feeling that I missed something or let down in any way. Loved your reaction to this one. And they so deserve that Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, they've worked their asses off to get where they are!

So originally this is a studio version song only and it was recorded originally with Jasmine Sullivan as lead singer, but then it became a staple on their Christmas tours because Mitch just nailed Jasmine's part and took us to church. I love the movie sister act 2, this was my favorite part of that movie when Lauren Hill was the actress/singer who started off the song 😁❤️. Great reaction as always. This arrangement is from Sister Act 2 I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong😳) I absolutely love their take on it. I have always loved this arrangement of Joyful Joyful but when PTX sings it, it's another whole thing. My favorite is still O' Come All Ye Faithful by PTX though. Mostly because it is their own arrangement and the base and percussion in it. Plus it's Avi era. 😎

I was lucky enough to see them live this past December at their New Jersey concert. The entire arena erupted when they did this song. If you ever EVER have the opportunity to see them live, do it. I promise you, it is a life changing experience.

He knows who Pentatonix are and have heard quite a few were their songs but not into them as much as me. I was shocked at his reaction which made me cry.

As others have said, this is from their 2021 Christmas tour - their first tour post covid. And yes - they usually play arenas and stadiums. That's how popular they are for live shows. (probably part of the reason they're getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!) They filmed one of the concerts and streamed it online via moment house so many other people has the chance to see a live show. I believe this was recorded at their Evergreen concert in the YUM Center (where Univ of Louisville plays basketball) in Louisville Ky. I was there at the end of the thrust stage. That was me shouting ‘I Love You’ through out the whole concert. There was a tornado in Kentucky the day before the concert and PTX donated some of their proceeds to the Red Cross.

I just love this song so much. I came across it almost by accident, just like you and I was totally hit by the brilliance and sheer joy. It's definitely one of my favourites now and I shall be seeking it out every time I need a lift. It shows their musical skill and brilliance but also their own enjoyment and love of what they are doing. I'm sure my fellow pentaholics have told this was the finale song on the Christmas tour from this past year. Believe it or not Kirstin was in her first trimester of her pregnancy during this tour. Thank you for reacting to this video. I saw them do this live on their Christmas tour last year. EPIC! They played venues that are usually basketball and hockey venues. Thousands of people, not church people necessarily. I sat in the nosebleed section, but it was still awesome. This is the set they used for all their Christmas concerts last year.

I was very lucky to finally see these in the uk roughly 2weeks ago and omg they were amazing they didn’t do this number but was still out of this world I was very shocked to see the queue to get in it was nearly two miles long but moved quickly the venue held just over 5000 people and was sold out for the days they were there so they need to come back to the uk lol x honestly what you see is what you get .

Hello D !! I was so excited when I got this notification. A reaction by D + PTX Joyful Joyful from the Evergreen Experience -- Make my day or what?! I did attend the online Evergreen Experience and it was fantastic. This was the online version of the 2021 Evergreen Tour which was a month long. The Evergreen Experience was the professional filming of one of the tour performances and hosted by Moment House. It was only available for two days, with ticket purchase, so that is why you would not find it online. The starting song Joyful Joyful is actually Ode to Joy or Hymn to Joy by Beethoven and this arrangement is from the movie Sister Act II. Of course all five of them are just spot on. Matt and Kevin rapping and bopping, Kirstie so sharp, Scott with his pop sounds and Mitch the rock star, supreme stage performer with the voice of an angel and some nice dance moves - just slayed it. I used to watch this Joyful Joyful performance every day after it was posted on line. PTX Christmas music and performances are for sure the gift that keeps on giving all year. BTW one of those nights at the Evergreen Tour (November 27 - December 23, 2021) was sold at 11,000 people - huge auditoriums. There are quite a few fan videos circulating from fans who were there and in those front rows. Please do try to find other performances from that Evergreen Tour - suggesting the following: 1) We Need A Little Christmas (with Mitch wearing yellow); 2) I Just Called To Say I Love You (with Kirsitie having a little moment - no spoilers) and 3) Evergreen (title track of the album, name of the tour and an original song dedicated to their mothers, the performance from the very last night, December 23 in Texas, surprise guest in the performance). Well….I wrote a whole paragraph again…but you captured this performance in one word - BRILLIANT!!! BTW - PTX last week was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 2023, in the category of Live Theatre/Live Performance - and so well deserved!!

It's been over a year so you probably won't see this, but the rap bit in the middle sounds like it was at the very least strongly inspired by the version of Joyful Joyful from the last scenes of Sister Act 2. Whoopi Goldberg led a bunch of inner city high school kids to a choir competition where they did Joyful Joyful in exactly this style. Definitely very cool. :)

Although this concert was from their Christmas tour, this song has been sung in churches all through the year since Ludwig von Beethoven & Friedrich Schiller wrote it. (Mr B's 9th symphony called "Ode to Joy". Hence, "Joyful, Joyful".) Of course, not as soulfully, sad to say. Btw....PTX brought their "Evergreen" tour to Nashville in December 2022 to The Bridgestone Arena once again.

This was the end of their Christmas tour. I think Mitch really enjoyed his vocal performance at the beginning of this. They always have something up their pockets. Their concerts are loaded venues and they aren't cheap. I wanted to go see them in Nashville a couple of years ago and the ticket was $200 and that wasn't close up. Couldn't afford to go because I'm handicapped and had to have a companion plus hotels and restaurants in Nashville aren't cheap.

The "Sister Act 2" version is better ONLY because it had a bigger choir and a quality singer like Lauren Hill. The bigger group and instruments give it just a little more fullness. But the high-energy version is still quite a performance.
