In Germany there is an old children's game called: Mother, Father, Child, which we used to play as children without any sexual ulterior motives! The lyrics refer back to this old children's game🙃✌🏼best regards from good old Germany>>>your reactions are cool😎🤘 give us more

Counting sheep is a metaphor for ways to fall asleep better, or what parents say to their children when they can't fall asleep, "count the sheep". That's why Till says "I am so old and yet I count them". So the protagonist is at least of adolescent age. The main misunderstanding is that there are two people involved here. Men should actually know that there is a part of the body that leads a certain life of its own, and here it enters into a dialogue with the consciousness that motorically controls the rest of the body in a lyrical alienation. When children play father-mother-child, they re-enact situations or invent a new event with a lot of imagination. Thus, in the role play "family", children on the one hand process what they have experienced and on the other hand, by virtue of their imagination, reproduce what they wish for. Therefore, at the end, this line of text on the context of the previously described. Basically a simple story lyrically blown up and musically dramatically staged. A young man processes his erotic experiences and impressions of the day or week in the context of the opposite sex in erotic dream fantasies, or in other words wet dreams, and has discovered masturbation. If native speakers already have problems deciphering texts by Till, how is a non-native speaker supposed to succeed on the basis of pure word translations.

Don‘t start to think any of them experienced such scenarios for real. They just sing about social abnormities but with no relation to their own lives. They all have middle class GDR backgrounds. They wanna get into peoples’ minds with music, lyrics and performance and make you reflect. Most German media confuse the band’s performance with the private lives of the band members. Some fans do do as well it seems. Later on a few songs were based on real life events like „Mein Teil“ and „Wiener Blut“. The rest, however, is fiction with this feel of uneasiness that some of the stuff could just now happen somewhere around the globe. When they published e.g. „Tier“ in 1997, Elisabeth Fritzl had been already imprisoned and raped by her father for over a decade and it took another decade before his crime was revealed and she and their seven children escaped him. So the world we live in has more abnormities we can often imagine. From time to time we get confronted with how thin this social ice is on which we live. I am faced with them due to my job from time to time …

I've never heard anything about Till being sexually abused as a child. Anyway, early Rammstein so weird and cool.

Till draws his inspiration for the song lyrics from many sources.

Damn - did I say sexually abused? I may have slipped that out simply because I think its the first thing we think of when we think a child was abused. In this case I believe he was abused mentally, verbally maybe even physically? by his father. Some others say he was abused by the "system"

@@ReactionsbyD Yeah, he definitely had a hard time in late childhood and teenage years. And a pretty tricky time after that being a relatively young single dad too.

I have also heard the term Rammsteiner before. But it can also be the name of the band members. I find the designation of the fans as"army" to be cringe.

This song is about the older brother molesting the younger brother, because the older brother can't sleep and is convined that this is the only way he can fall asleep. It's not autobiographical, just Rammstein shedding light in the dark secrets. There is no perfect family and in a lot of family abuse is daily.
