No, there wasn't anything "red" in front of Amira during this performance! Amira claims she sees angels when she sings and is transported to another "plain" when she performs! You can see at the end of this piece, that she sort of "snaps back" into her present reality from wherever she was transported during the song! She is Divinely Blessed and angels listen while she sings!

Amira was born in Holland. Now lives in South Africa. Amira started her foundation Geluksinkders at the age of 11. Same age as this video. To date Geluksinkders has built I believe 14 playgrounds for children in poverty in S.A. More are planned. A dream Amira had at age 9. Suggestions: Caruso, Amazing Grace, any Nella Fantasia, any Nessan Dorma, Nearer My God to Thee from 18th Birthday concert. In The Stars is worth a listen. The list goes on.... And on....And On.

She is pretty amazing. The disparity between her age and her vocal talents are less apparent now she is grown up, but she still has a magical sound. She also often puts her own flavour into her songs, adds a cherry to the top. She is Dutch. This church is in Nijmegan, her home town. The boy violinist is her brother, two years older than Amira. Mother on recorder, father playing the pipe organ, it's a family production. Amira only began singing, because she couldn't play an instrument like the rest of her family, and was feeling left out. She explains it to the judges in her audition piece for the judges on Holland's got talent. The three videos of her performances on that show display her natural talent, before any coaching kicked in. Enjoy exploring her music, there are many gems.

From Wikipedia quote , "the red-eye effect in photography is the common appearance of red pupils in color photographs of the eyes of humans and several other animals. It occurs when using a photographic flash that is very close to the camera lens (as with most compact cameras) in ambient low light." end quote. Back in the 50's ( and on?) redeye was a common mistake in amateur photography

Wow ..what a beautiful way you say she makes people feel listening to this.. all hate and anger gone..well put... we could sure do with everyone in the world listening to her to get that happen. Yes... words don't explain it. There is something about the tone or whatever in her voice... plus that she herself considers it a gift from God that she is responsible to use for good in the world.. and so her living in the songs she sings is total and genuine for her.. like she is merely passing on the gift to us and is just the loving messenger... We feel that spirituality whether we are religious or not. And for a child of 10 to use the money she first made to build a playground for children in South Africa in a township near where her mother was from so they had a place to to play like she had in the Netherlands... And the same year set up with her parents help Gelukskinders (meaning lucky children in Afrikaans) so that she could keep building playgrounds there where there weren't any for schools, orphanages and special playground equipment for special needs schools is remarkable. It is now about 17-18 playgrounds Gelukskinders has built and maintains and she continues to donate a lot of her earnings to her foundation and her fans are dedicated to donating to these playground projects also. Now 18 and of course her voice is transitioning into it's adult self and though different, becoming richer, warmer, still has that something about it, and Amira that something about her, that makes one have to listen to her sing, or talk in interviews. She's just Amira, not comparable to anyone except herself! She has managed to live a normal teenage private life, going to school etc as well as singing. She's just a very down to earth young person - with a special gift.

To answer your question "where does she hide her wings" start by viewing her performance of Nella Fantasia live in concert at the Afrikaans is Groot in November 2016 and look at the dress she is wearing, she just tucks the wings in her dresses. You will notice it in all her Afikaans is Groot performances going forward. Enjoy your Amira journey you will not be disappointed.

Can you imagine how it must have been in that church at the moment this happened? I think it is beyond our imaginations. Just look at the and of this video: it took her a while to "come out of this song". Anyway, Amira is still singing and her voice off course is different now, but the change has been in the good way. She has not produced many musicvideos: not damaging the vocal cords, having an as normal as possible childhood and going to normal schools has been first priority over the years till now. And so far that has paid off: she is a very pleasant person. Her foundation "Gelukskinders"(Happy children, that is) so far has created 18 playgrounds so far (more are in the pipeline) in the South African Townships (sadly known for drugs, alcohol and violence and abuse against children).

Wonderful and heartfelt reaction! Thank you! If it helps, her name (as much as I've been able to ascertain) is pronounced "Vil - ig - hah --gen." The "W" actually has a "V" sound in Dutch. The accent in stronger on the first syllable: "VIL." The "ig" and "gen" syllables both have a hard "g" sound, same as in "go." Amira was born in the Netherlands, not Norway. (Angelina Jordan is from Norway.) She now lives in South Africa, the homeland of her mother. A large fraction of the population there is of Dutch descent. Note that the song is a modern version of Ava Maria, not the usual versions Amira has also song the standard versions of Ava Maria. The violinist is indeed her brother. The w woman is Amira's mother. The organist is her father, I believe. In this case, Amira is a guest artist. Directly in front of Amira are some people almost within arm's length as can be seen from other videos from this concert.. Amira's eyes are not normally red so the cause is probably something ordinary, not supernatural. If the reactor is going to view other videos by Amira, I suggest that he start with her audition with "Holland's Got Talent where she sings the area "O Mio Bambino Caro in which a girl in love tries to get her father to consent to a marriage with her lover in a comic opera. Amira was allowed to skip directly to the semifinal where she sang a standard version of Ava Maria, followed by the final where she sang the area Nessum Dorma (Non shall Sleep) after which Amira won the the sixth season of the show at the age of 9. The Ava Maria (Gomez) rendition is from a Christmas concert from 2015, two year after "Holland's Got Talent.. At this stage, she seems to be wearing simple white costumes. Later, she started wearing larger, mor elaborate dresses.

Many Reactors like to go back in time with Amira, but she has sung so many great songs in the last nine years. For example, The Lord's Prayer, Streaming Christmas Concert 2020, is superb but has received little interest from Reactors. I would highly recommend it to you. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, on various occasions; I'll Walk With God, are both excellent.

No Emma certainly is not better then Amira. You can not compair the two . They are totally different. Emma is a cc singer with a pop voice ,Amira is a unique soprano vocalist. Amira was nine years old when she performed this concert and Amira sings with her classis voice . Emma was 15 singing voila. 5 years older then Amira when she performed with Andre Rieu.Emma hase a great voice however she,ll never reach the high notes Amira easely can reach. Also Amira sings with much more power . I do hope of course Emma will be just as famous around the world as Amira is ,because she really is a good singer.
