Oh, yes, I quite know about the American Dolls! My daughters loved them! And, yes, though Amira is from Holland and lives in South Africa, she would be the epitome of an American Doll! And she IS an angelic, princess doll! Beautiful in heart, soul, and 24-carat character as she is outwardly! God spent extra time on her.

The other version you watched was from the July 2016 performance, she was 12 years old. This performance is from the November 2016 performance, 4 months later, she is still 12 but on the cusp of 13. The changes in her are very apparent. Some one once commented that the July performance marked the end of young Amira and the November performance marked the beginning of teenage Amira! A landmark had been passed, both physical and vocal.

She is adorable, and she does radiate good feelings. There are quite a few interviews and behind the scenes films where she can be heard talking, and expressing her love for humanity. They usually have subtitles, if they are not in English, but they are all delightful. When she was young her playfulness frequently showed itself too. Take some time out and enjoy watching them.

This is one of the best videos.. there's just a powerful beauty about the whole of it.. and Amira both looking and sounding iconic.. at 12 years old! You said you'd listen to her voice just speaking and love it. Well, there is one video where she introduced the song herself. It's When You Wish Upon A Star which she sang as her contribution to an online concert for veterans a few years ago. Her dad plays the piano. She's older 17 I think. It's very intimate and sincere and beautiful. Another very different performance, but proving her versatility, is her medley performance from the sound of music. Another stand out one... But there are so many 'stand out ' ones from Amira... My other choice and right up there with this Nella Fantasia is her La Virgine Degli Angeli... Absolutely sublime. Loved your exorcist comment... very true.. she eliminates all bad feeling and floods one's emotional space with beauty and happiness instead!

I hope Amira goes for "Popera" rather than hardcore opera. She is wonderful at arias with her light lyric soprano voice. I have heard die-hard opera fans on other channels cutting her down because she does not have the experience of a Callos or Sissle. They ignore the amazing fact that at nine she had this God-given gift that it took others decades to achieve. She did it without forcing her voice trying to sound adult. She has such a haunting quality to her voice that keeps ringing in the ears long after she stops singing. I hope she does not become the "fat lady" that sings at the end of an opera. Classical music is where she belongs because she is classic.

Yes, she excels in operatic arias, but staged operatic performances are another matter. It seems to me she would lose more than she'd gain.

@@joepollard9476 That's only important if staged operative performances are important and to me, they are not. As I said, Amira has amazing control, tone, range, and quality. She had all this at nine years old and nothing is forced. Her voice keeps ringing in the ears long after the song is over. I have heard some voice coaches not very accepting of her talent at this age afraid that her voice will give out early. Some other opera amateur aficionados denigrate her for not having the experience of a Callas or Sissle so they do not consider her in the same class. But I just have to say that to be able to sing arias with the best of them without effort is a great achievement. I hope she sticks with classical music and POPera, I do not want her to become the fat lady that sings at the end of an opera. The opera elite do not deserve her.

Yes, there were 3 or 4 performances of the concert that week. The producers Coleske Artists make a dvd of the concert each year + available to purchase from Amira's foundation Gelukskinders online shop - Amira forgot to wear her bracelet on one of them and there's a few seconds clip where this is visible in the recording. I suppose they use different angles from the different performances in making the DVD.
