Thanks for reacting to these songs. Keith Green is my favorite christian artist. I listened to his music aa lot when i became a new christian back in the 70's and it was very encouraging to me. Sooooo many more good songs. i cant think of one i dont like. you should check out all of his music. Gods blessings on you

Definitely keep listening to him! This list was great but didn't showcase his more fun side. You want to go back to Egypt is a good example. I'm in my miss 30's and was born a few years after he died but both of my parents were huge fans so I grew up listening to him and still am a big fan myself.

You and I are about the same age and I’m a Christian also. I must admit, I didn’t know much about Keith myself.

A great list, and not to disagree at all, but mine would be about 6 songs different. That's about how many good songs he had, all o0f which inspire greatly.

That is great! For sure shows you how great of an artist he is. It is always way worse when you can only come up with 11 or 12 songs haha. Appreciate it!

Not an artist I'll likely return to, but really interesting nonetheless and yet another talented and clearly great guy with a tragic early end. The Prodigal Son Suite was magnificent and seemed like something Neal Morse might do (I wasn't too surprised to find that Neal has covered at least one of Keith's tunes).

Excellent list from Asmund. Keith Green is one of those Christian artists that has gained legendary status, not only because of his early and unexpected death, but because of his wild-eyed, prophet-like message and passion for Christian devotion and commitment. Very 'John the Baptist'. One song I would have included is "Dust to Dust" which wasn't released until long after Green's death, on a subsequent compilation. Otherwise, Asmund, well done. Oh… and, of course, good job to you as well Shawn. I could tell you were suppressing (somewhat) your preaching/teaching impulses.

haha I try to suppress I really do! Thanks Scott!

Interesting you mention Matthew 25 - on The Keith Green Collection (released in his lifetime) he does a dramatic recitation of that passage which dovetails directly into Asleep in the Light. I believe the song shows a common misunderstanding of the passage tho.
