Fun fact: This song has the Guinness world record for most words in a hit single. The number is a staggering 1560 words. He averages right around 4.3 words per second throughout the song. It's absolutely mind-boggling. The fast part is 97 words in 15 seconds (for 6.5 words per second). Eminem is truly a master of his craft Quick edit: Eminem was indeed the person that inducted Run-DMC into the hall of fame, that's not a metaphor or anything :P

Batter is beaing used in the way the previous line was talking about the women hate in his lyrics and also as cake batter . Absolutely. Especially my Mom just hearing an NF song, thinking it’s just another rap song and saying she doesn’t like it. When I read her the lyrics of the song she said “wow, I can’t believe that’s what he’s saying. I would’ve never guessed that” and now every time she hears his voice she is like, is that NF? Very nice to see I could sway that opinion. There are many other great artists but she wouldn’t understand them and why they’re so good

Quick story time. So back on the Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem said the same line about Colombine and the revolver and nine, but they bleeped it out on the song. Fast forward to today, he’s saying he must not be as relevant or important enough because he says the same exact line but they didn’t bleep it out.
@Jennifer-jt9cb2 жыл бұрын
To say that he got a lot of hate is an understatement. With the exception of Dre, almost everyone wanted his head. He definitely struggled in the beginning, but has earned his place as one of the best rappers to ever put down some rhymes. In my opinion, he is the most skilled rapper ever. Maybe not the best, but definitely the most skilled. Again, that's just my opinion.

If you really wanna get to know Marshall, read his book he wrote years ago. It is called the Way I am. It tells his whole story from his beating in elementary that almost left him dead. The story is a hard pill to swallow. The guy is lucky to be alive. And since the book he had a serious addiction and had to battle that. He wrote Rap God with pride. His raps tell blatant truth. There is no hidden message. He lays it out in layman's terms.

Brilliant reaction Tom 😂 when I saw you were having a go at Rap God I knew you’d love it! You’re so right about Em being a student of the game, I always saw this video a bit like the Matrix - Em is getting ‘programmed’ with all the greats he listened to coming up, making him the artist he is today. This track is a lesson and homage to hiphop from start to finish, so many references to old tracks, different artists etc - even the parts that sound a bit nonsensical at first, have meaning. I’m running out the door just now but I’ll try and add to my comment later - just a few of the cool things in this track you might like!

As a motorsport enthusiast hearing you call dale the king and then catching yourself and saying he wasn't made me smile. I'm sure you meant god is the king, but in nascar the King is Richard Petty. Dale Sr was the intimidator. That aside this was a great video and dale sr is a king in his own rights as is Richard Petty. Eminem is a legend and the king of rap, his lyricism is unmatched, wordplay unheard of, and an amazing person with an extremely rough past/history.

I’d put him and MF DOOM on top for the way they can rhyme multi syllabic words, internal rhymes and the vocabulary, how they bend words to fit their rhyme patterns. There’s better story tellers than them and just vibe/chill rap artists. But as far as actual pen game, I’ve got DOOM and Eminem as the GOATs. I think objectively speaking,if you broke down Eminem’s lyrics, you cannot argue he’s not the greatest writer ever. The reason some don’t admit it is like I said, they prefer stories or more chill/trap shit which is fine, so the insane lyrical skills go over their heads. It’s like watching professional sports when you don’t know the rules and don’t understand the plays being made. You have to have some knowledge or understanding of rap to truly appreciate Eminem

Wait is Em a fellow aspie? I kind of suspected but he doesn't talk about it. He does allude to having ADHD in one song. But I am not sure if it is serious or just the rhyme scheme. We need more publicly aspie celebs who are not eugenicists trying to cure fellow auties or picking literal fights all the time. At the very least for the kids. Positive influences to point to when the kid gets dxed and the parents worry for their future to say don't worry your kid will succeed in their goals look at this person.
@Vuurvlieg212 жыл бұрын
@@HopeGardner3amed Yeah. He actually mentions it in his song ‘Wicked Ways’, but I also already suspected before I heard that. It’s just in the way he expresses himself you know? I get why he wouldn’t make a big deal out of it though. ‘Autism’, is to many people a convenient reason to stop listening to what you’re actually saying and start putting everything into this weird context. There are honestly a LOT of people with at least suspected Asperger’s that made huge contributions to history. Scientists, Inventors, artists, you name it. But I think there’s a good chance that if Eminem was really in the spotlight about it the press would somehow make it a negative thing. To me it’s just nice to recognise some of my own struggles with the world in his songs and see how he made it into a strength. That’s awesome and very motivating on its own.

His super sonic speed he did a nod to JJ Fad’s Supersonic. When he puts those lyrics that are really out there, he said he said before it was still tongue and cheek and that he fused hip hop/pop/rock/shock. He was never an alcoholic but it works.lol. The... gay looking boy ...line is from another song. Yes Eminem has a lot of older game systems ...including Pong! lol. I think he was referring to MGK, Machine Gun Kelly, during the part where he says, "you be Thor and I'll be Odin" cuz he's been having beef with MGK for years now. I could be wrong about that cuz he could just be referring to other rappers in general. The whole sequence where he rapped at ludicrous speed was obviously insane, but the Dale Earnhardt part through the Thor reference is my favorite part of the song.
