In an electrifying cinematic event, the timeless classic "Predator" (1987) took center stage in a remote village, leaving its inhabitants in awe and suspense. For the first time ever, the villagers gathered to witness the epic sci-fi action film that has captivated audiences worldwide for decades. The reactions were nothing short of spectacular, with a roller-coaster of emotions and unforgettable moments etched in their minds forever.
The villagers, many of whom had never experienced a Hollywood blockbuster before, were intrigued by the promise of heart-pounding action, spine-tingling suspense, and cutting-edge special effects. As the movie began, the anticipation was palpable, and it wasn't long before the tension escalated to new heights.
As the Predator's iconic heat vision scans the screen, gasps of astonishment reverberated through the makeshift outdoor theater. The villagers were immediately drawn into the perilous world of elite commandos on a mission against an otherworldly adversary, and their immersion in the storyline was absolute.
One of the standout aspects of "Predator" was undoubtedly the brilliant portrayal of the eponymous creature. As its monstrous appearance came into view, villagers couldn't help but marvel at the groundbreaking practical effects that still hold up to this day. The blending of real-life stunts with futuristic technology left an indelible mark on the villagers, who were witnessing a marvel of 1980s cinema.
As the action-packed sequences unfolded, the villagers were at the edge of their seats, cheering on the relentless battle for survival against an unseen enemy. The camaraderie and courage displayed by the film's characters struck a chord with the villagers, transcending cultural and language barriers.
Furthermore, the movie's underlying themes of survival, sacrifice, and the strength of the human spirit resonated deeply with the audience. This first-time experience of witnessing such a gripping narrative and intense performances left a profound impact on the villagers, igniting discussions and debates long after the credits rolled.
"Predator" (1987) served as not just a captivating movie night, but also as an opportunity for the villagers to come together, forge connections, and share an unforgettable cinematic experience. It became a catalyst for bridging gaps, fostering a newfound appreciation for storytelling through film, and opening doors to a world of cinematic wonders waiting to be explored.
In the end, this extraordinary event showcased the universal appeal of cinema and the power it holds to transcend borders and cultures. As the villagers stepped out of the theater, they carried with them memories of an evening that will forever remain etched in their hearts and minds. This captivating first-time viewing of "Predator" has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the village, forever enriching their cultural tapestry with a thrilling cinematic masterpiece.

This is a strong testament to how the story in Predator is timeless and universal. Every single story beat lands exactly as intended, without dialog in most cases, regardless of cultural, societal, technology, or language gaps/barriers. The best movies transcend all borders and creeds and the messages and exciting moments translate to all. For as much as Predator is a fun action/horror romp - it is a shockingly strong screenplay for such a film. The best movies are the ones that stick with us and in order to do that you need a great story. The idea of a group of strong capable warriors being hunted down by a greater threat, being picked off one by one, and the last man standing in triumph will NEVER go out of style!

@@SaintSullys I don't necessarily agree with the praying part. For real things, yes, and I think it's lovely that they want to pray for the people in the movies, but I feel like if they sat back and watched an episode of their show they might have the afterthought "Oooh, I hope I didn't blaspheme by praying in vain." I'm not sure how it is in their faith, but I used to feel a little embarrassed and uncomfortable in church when people would raise their hands during prayer request time and ask something like "Let my team win the Superbowl." The idea of using God's name in vain is misattributed to using it as a euphemism... it actually means not to call on God for pointless reasons. It also would upset me when people would say "Amen!" for foolish things, like when the pastor said we would be having a potluck. Amen means "let it be so," and there is a passage in the Bible that says if you say let something be so on earth in God's name, it will be so. It's a lot more serious than a lot of Christians see it as. I'm not saying I'm upset with them for blaspheming, and I know I was a fundamentalist and they are not, I'm just saying I wonder, if they thought about it (or if some Judgy McJudgerson in their village found out about it), if they would be upset with themselves. I love these people and I don't want to see them upset with themselves, or be judged for it.

In English there's a distinction between a predator and cannibal. A predator is any animal that hunts other animals. A cannibal is any animal that eats its own species - usually we only use this word for humans because we don't observe it often in other animals, but it does happen. For example, chimps may cannibalise the young of their opponents and tadpoles can cannibalise when food runs out.

In the end, in the helicopter, the black guy piloting the helicopter was Kevin Peter Hall, the actor that played the Predator monster. He was about 220 cm tall (about 7 ft 2 in) and due to his immense height he played various monsters in various movies. He was usually playing with some mask so his face is not that known. Unfortunately he passed untimely in his 30s. BTW this movie is maybe my all time favourite. I saw it as a child about 9 years of age and I definitely wasn't supposed to watch that. Really envious of these guys, because they've gotten the best viewing experience of Predator possible: they knew absolutely nothing about the movie, not even that there was an alien in it, and so they got to be genuinely surprised when it turned into a different movie halfway through. A bit disappointed to see that they didn't piece together that the Predator was hunting dangerous humans for sport and taking trophies, but perhaps that is because they are not hunters themselves. Maybe they'd figure it out if you showed them Predator 2. If you're going to show them other films in the series, it would be good to explain thermal vision to them; things will make more sense to them once they understand that the Predator sees heat rather than normal light.

We have water bears ( Tardigrades ) here on earth, that can withstand high radiation without big problems, and if the Predator eats animals that live on smaller animals that in turn live on radioactive animals - You could get instant blood glowing in the dark. As the Alien Xenomorph have a odd lifecycle - it would be wonderful to see their take on it.

@@MegaMilenche There isn't a specific word for "cannibal" in Hindi or at least one that I've heard of. What they said in hindi is "Nara-vakshak," composed of "Nara" meaning man or human and "vakshak" meaning eater. So when you directly translate it to english it should be man-eater not cannibal. Since there isn't a specific word for something that eats its own kind in hindi; it is often used as the defacto translation of cannibal from English to Hindi.

4:13 Hollywood always gets camouflage face paint wrong, but the entire point is that the human brain works on pattern recognition and is very good at finding human faces. If you can change and disguise the lines of a face, preferably with colors that match the surrounding area it makes you harder to detect which can be life and death in a jungle war.

@MegaMilenche The horizontal black lines on the cheeks under their eyes is useful for keeping the sun from reflecting in your eyes but that was about it. Generally if you're using face paint for camouflage purposes you want to cover the entire face, ears and neck, even the back of your neck. An irregular pattern that disrupts the contours of your face is what you're going for. I'd post a link of examples but KZbin tends to not like links. Google Military face paint and you'll see what I mean.
