I personally believe that they cast caucasian background dancers mostly to create a distinction between the main actress and the other bunch of people. And I also believe that most women who cheer at cricket matches are caucasian or non-indian cuz there's nothing called cheerleaders or anything of that sort in schools or colleges (n tbh if any Indian girls even take up that profession by any wild chance, their parents would get a coronary arrest xD) which is quite in contrast to what is mostly shown in the American films 🤔

@misuzu9254 yes I agree with that; it even increases as u go south, which I would have thought would be the reverse. I guess it would take some more generations to actually wipe this phenomenon out n to appreciate our own skin, afterall, 200 year old rule of the Brits just can't go unnoticed like that now, can it? Plus, Indians hate on themselves, cuz unlike the whites or the blacks, Indians have a complete range of colour palette. They can be fair as a white or dark as a black n everywhere in between. What Indians generally wanna see is a white face with Indian features. :/

This used to not happen in 90s.. Unless location is foreign then it make sense.. But mostly all songs who wr shooted in india they all had indian background dancers... There is nothng like parents will get heart attack.. If u r poor u can dance.. Then those ppl simply join these indian groups n start working as background dancers.. After 90s.. Especially after this karan johar chutyiap films.. The obsession of white skin just increased n then it kept on growing n growing... N situation is now like every fucking song has white chicks only in background.. We have killed the industry of indian background dancers.. There r no such group left.. We hv made thousands of our own indian girls unemployed... Thats shame

N this fair skin brown skin wasnt the main point.. India is country of billion ppl we too have fair skin ppl brown ppl n even white skin ppl.. In leading actress thr it was the issue.. It's cute how you lied to your friend in order to not hurt his feelings when he asked about the use of White background dancers. LOL, the real reason, is that they are cheaper and better at dancing hip hop. Not to mention the racist element in Bollywood which always portrays dominant Indians leading a largely White supporting cast, who are more submissive and amenable to taking orders.
