I get chills every time i see this. People trash these X-Men movies for numerous reasons. But you have to admit the idea of Magneto accidentally crippling Charles is freaking brilliant

Interesting fact. In the original x men movies that take place in the future, he never deflects bullets again like this. Possibly him learning from this and never wanting to repeat it.

9:22 THANK YOU! Finally! Eric talks about brotherhood and everyone defends him for not being totally responsible for it (rightfully so) but he just…dips out?! And leaves him there on the beach?! Even if nothing could’ve been done it’s still a dick move and pretty hypocritical on his part to just abandon him due to a difference in method. A lot of people ignore how harsh magneto is to other mutants. He uses and disposes of them like tools too.

I think dipping out was smart since he was going off to declare war on humanity. In fact they might have all been killed if he was still there when the authorities showed up.

X-Men first class and X-Men days of future past are both great X-Men movies

First Class is a great X-Men movie but Days of Future Past is a great movie in general. I think it's the greatest superhero movie ive ever seen

If I could change one thing, I would have had Moira actually get one hit against Magneto’s shoulder that drew his attention. The fact that she initially went for a head shot made her seem kind of dumb because of the fact he is WEARING A HELMET.

I get why people say it was Magneto’s fault for the bullet because he diverted it but at the same time people are forgetting the very basic fact that she was the one who fired the round in the first place. So in reality the fault lies with _both of them._

Erik pulling out the bullet did more harm than good & was possibly what caused the paralysis but her shooting without thinking Erik might deflect them was dumb

@@faith4657 I mean if we speak from a healthcare perspective, yes. It’s better to let an actually surgeon do that instead of simply yanking it out. But this is a movie so we go with the script

@@faith4657 these are all what ifs, we saw a bullet go in and get yanked out, we don’t know where it hit and I’m not a doctor but yanking a bullet that went into a vital part of your body can often do more damage than good

If I remember correctly Beast (Hank) invented a cure for Charles' paralysis , but the side effect was he lost his psychic abilities. Later he stops taking the treatment , so he could use his powers to save lost mutants.

It's funny how this scene alone explains the character of charles and eric so well. These comic book movies have so much potential It's crazy. And yet somehow there are only a few good comic book movies out there It's sad honestly

It’s actually not just Erik’s fault Moira was the one who fired the bullets blowing the Erik can control metal so the actually fault falls on both of them

Its actually three of their faults moria for shooting , Erik for not looking where to deflect the bullets and Charles being next to Erik

How would charles know that moira was shooting? Also while magneto did deflect without looking if it was anyone else moira could have hit charles regardless and she was the one that started shooting, while I get the movie for pointing out what happens to erik mentalilty to set in, moira is 100% at fault for shooting METAL BULLETS at their direction she could have missed erik could have killed her instead of deflecting and she didnt trust charles to interupt eric which was probaly why he has close by, why I want to say is, charles was not at fault of his accident but moira definately was the instigator and has fault, and erik is also at fault because he could have literally just stopped the bullets instead of just deflecting, but tha "you did" from charles is not about the deflect is about causing the situation in general, people dont generally talk about that phrase beign the "Im done and we shuld part ways here" from charles to erik, realizing there is where they split because of how erik acted, honestly is also a bad take from charles to push erik away with that.

@@EstebanBrenesVno she was saving innocent soldiers who were only following orders. That’s why she shot at him. He could aswell stopped the bullets in mid air or just break the gun… If anything Charles getting paralyzed is Erik’s fault

@@JamailvanWestering I haven't seen this in a while but was he so skilled in this movie that he could stop bullets in midair, I don't think so. Not to mention just because someone is following orders means that what they're doing is a good thing.

It’s a separate timeline from the first three films. it’s a little messy how many different timelines there are in the franchise but they sync them at the end of Days of Future Past (though then the next film takes place back in the Fassbender/McAvoy timeline bc it’s chronologically before DoFP)

I don't know whether to agree that Magneto should've killed Moria because SHE shot the bullet in the first place, or to agree with Charles that it was MAGNETO'S fault for hurting him. I'm stuck.

Fassbender was being shot at. He deflected the bullets. Not his fault.

@@kianway8430 Because the humans fired missiles at the mutants and he then took control of the missiles and fired them back at the humans. In both cases he was defending himself and the other mutants. Notice, she was the only human on the beach and she was trying to kill a mutant.

Except Xavier was right, had Magneto launched those missiles both Soviets and Allied forces would have died causing WW3 and even more humans and mutants would have died. Erik could have stopped the bullets in mid-air.

Not really. She shot at him to force him to let go of the missiles that would innocent soldiers who would be hit and WW3 would begin. If anything Magneto should have stopped the bullets in mid-air or break the gun. If anything this proves that Erik was wrong

@JamailvanWestering you mean the missiles that were about to murder the mutants on the beach for *checks notes* existing? Again, it is a case of self-defense. Not to mention that in days of future past and Logan, humans have done fairly well in eradicating the mutant population by genocide and secretly poisoning food with genetic modifications to stop mutations.

@@JamailvanWestering he didn't pull the missiles out of the ships, he pulled them out of the air when they were fired on him and the others on the beach. it'd be self defense to sink those ships.
