i really like ur reactions bc u are so so so good at comprehending and being able to interpret new sounds that artists explore with. ur so good at appreciating it and helping other fans respect the artists' exploration. the truth is a lot of fans were dissapointed with this album and I can't lie its not what i personally expected either, but this helped me really see things the way ari intended. she just went thru a hard time and is finally happy and in a good place, let her enjoy her exploration of music and her sound. In hindsight, how she gonna blow our wigs away 20 years from now if she uses all her high voice energy now?? we gotta let her have some cooling off albums so that she can be around for a while and bless us with her incredible gifted and angelic voice. She is so different and iconic and unique and is gonna really make a change in the world, we just gotta trust her. love u ash love u ari

**1 yr Later Review** The most cutest album I have heard. It is my favorite Ariana album. The different sounds ranging from: pop, trap, funk, rnb, and edm. Honestly, it was expiremental and honest. You start to realize what she wanted for the album through a couple of listens. And I listened to this album for two months straight twice a day *(on the school bus)* ,until LM5 came out and blew my mind. I was going through shit when this Album came out. I was empty and numb, yet depressed and anxious, I still am but Sweetener made/makes me feel warm. I felt better and more understood. I needed this to make me smile just twice a day before school and after school. I loved it. And it is forever one of my favorite albums of all time 🖤

As you walk down the album from raindrops end It at get well soon and go back to raindrops. You start to hear her process. Like someone who is struggling through life has high highs and low lows for a minute and you hear It in her music. This album is a walk through of her healing, but also exploring her sensuality, independence, being IMMENSELY in love. This is definitely different and I get a early 2000’s vibe from this. But it’s like the rainbow after the storm feeling. And there’s moments in the album like “tracks” where you can tell she struggled and fell into the darkness, but then climbed right back out. And towards the end of the album you can tell that she finds her feet. But she’s better then she’s ever been. It’s like she’s been through the worst and she knows what she wants in her life, her music and her people. So you feel It all! The whole album is a BOP! It may not be everyone’s taste! But this is her love letter to herself and everyone around her! 💛💛 I’m glued to this album

1. breathin/everytime - *breathin’s* start sounds like someone “playing” ice taps. (like in a disney movie.) it’s layered harmonies sound amazing and it just speaks to me. *everytime* has a beat in the song which reminds me of a train, weird enough. the song itself is a little sad compared to others, but i still love it. 2. pete davidson/better off - *pete davidson* is a bit short but i still love it. it gives me a nastolgic feeling, bc i feel that i’ve heard the beat when I was younger. *better off* is sad but like a lullaby. it’s hard for me to hear, bc i don’t normally like sad songs but I tried to listen to it and fell in love. both beautiful. 3. goodnight n go/get well soon - *goodnight n go’s* lyrics are so beautiful but i’m not a big fan of the beat drop. i’ve heard imogen heap’s original goodnight and go, and it’s for sure special. ari’s was beautiful too with a twist but still the same harmonies. *get well soon* was a little surprising to me bc i didn’t expect the piano and the “happy” but still sad sound. it was amazing. i feel like everytime & better off are the sad songs in the album. therefore they have a special place in my heart. the reason i chose these songs from the album is bc they stood out if you know what i mean. pharrel did a good job on get well soon, but that’s kinda the only one i like from him. I’m not saying the other songs are bad but the just don’t speak to me like these six do. (I couldn’t place the six songs in a top six bc I love some of them the exact same and then there’s some who stand out.)

I blame Pharrell for the album not being as amazing as everyone thought because him and Ariana are like oil and water on most of the songs he produced (they do not mix) and he produced like the majority of the album unfortunately. But some of the songs on the album are the best Ariana have ever made like breathin and better off and goodnight n go.

For me, every song that produced by Pharrell (excluding R.E.M.) in Ariana Grande's album is a total disaster. It's not like I hate Pharrell or anything, but I just don't feel like it's a good idea for Pharrell to produce Ariana Grande's song. Those songs might pull it off with another singer, but just NOT ARIANA GRANDE. I feel like their "type" in music, r completely opposite
