The recording process for Odd Sense alone took around 2 weeks because apparently their CEO aka a music professor wasn't satisfied with it until it gets to perfection, and yup, it's worth it. I'm also quite surprised by how good Hyuk's songs sounds since this's the first time the songs that he wrote/composed are included in their album, boy has huge potentials!

I listened to the entire album during a road trip last week and I literally had this suspended moment in time where I thought to myself, "Hmm, it would be cool if there was one more 'run away' in the silence after the track has faded" and *then it happened* and I freaked out. I like so many of the B-side tracks too! It's interesting how well they were created, and while I agree that musically Scentist isn't *quite* as interesting, I think the reason it was selected as the title track is because of its connection to the concept. They've been built up as concept-dols and Kings of Concepts, so it would make sense that they choose a track more able to communicate the concept (if it is supposed to be based on Perfume, because holy shite the meaning of the lyrics and vid really can't be anything else!) rather than be the most musically accessible or interesting. One could say the same thing with The Closer (which is musically fascinating but not as musically appreciated by the average listener). That being said, GODDAMN do I like this album! >.< Scentist grew on me pretty quickly, despite the irritating KZbin view cutting -_- I get the whole "I think I just really like hype songs" too, though I'm sure you could better articulate why lolol Thanks Umu for your reaction to the album! I usually agree with you but Trigger is such a good song. Especially the post chorus that comes in after the second chorus where ken goes "Hold me down" then followed by a softer, harmonized "Hold~ me down~" with Ravi following and that strong bass in the background coming all together is SO SATISFYING

My favorites from the album are definitely Silence, Scentist and My Valentine. I also feel like Circle is that one song that sounds better in the darkness if that makes sense? When you have nothing to distract you, it's just you and the song and so it's good that it doesn't jump anywhere crazy, it just is there and it's grounding and relaxing

Silence's first rap (especially the first sentence) reminds be of Desperate rap so much, even the barky "huh" sounds. Odd eye, My Valentine, Circle and Trigger are my favourites.

Erdna SpeedSoldier That or a play on “eau de toilette” which is a form of perfume and fits the scent concept (usually all perfumes have three types: the essence which is the strongest and priciest, the “eau de toilette” which is kind of diluted but still smells, it’s less pricy and usually perfumes add “eau de” before the name of the perfume (like eau de guerlain or here eau de vixx) and then there’s the deodorant version which is the cheapest version of a perfume)

We're definitely different in that Trigger is my favorite with Odd Sense my least (though for pet peeve reasons). Trigger, Silence, and Escape are the top three. N's song has the feel of a Mamamoo ballad, its really beautiful. Scentist isn't the best track of the album but it definitely suits the concept best, and the stage is killer.

My first listen to this album, was when I was doing the dishes. Took quite a while, as I kept breaking off to do my Granny version of Kpop dancing, example: step, painful hip thrust, neck cracking head bop, arthritic arms swing. Repeat to the left. Sit down for 5min recovery period, get up and wash a few dishes, the Re-do.

Sooo it seems the weakest song on the album is my favourite 😂 But I'm not surprised. You're a musician, I'm not. And even though I kinda have ear for music and I like complex and musically interesting songs, I also like 'feel good' songs I can dance to or just chill. I like Trigger because of this heavy bass, I just love dark/deep house music. BUT Odd Sense and Silence are also amazing! Thanks for your review :)
