When I watched this moment for the first time, I screamed as loud as I could when Tony wielded the Infinity Stones but quietly sobbed when he died afterwards.

We were all following a story, of a bunch of misfits, nobodies and super powered beings that came together to become Earth's Mightiest heroes, The Avengers. When Tony died after giving his all, it hit, so, damn, hard and still does, honestly, I doubt that will ever change either. What we got to share was a decade long story, culminating in a sad ending with hope on the horizon for a better tomorrow, one that Tony died to give to everyone, along with a message to all the other planets out there, that the Avengers are there, ready to defend their home to the end.

And now, it's here. " Right in his final moments, he could say nothing. He couldn't even stand - legs turned to jelly. He was so sure he was right and that he would win, he couldn't comprehend how he'd lost. He just went quiet and faded away.

I don't like how every reaction skips over the moment of Tony and Rhodey before he dies. It's a quiet moment between best friends where the MCU truly all started. Not one word between them, but Tony is still there and they say goodbye. It's such a great acting moment that people just skip over.

So few people got the significance of the finger pointing up by Strange. It wasn't "This is the one." Tony had made the same gesture at another time when talking about when he took the nuke through the wormhole. Strange was telling Tony that what he was about to do was a one way journey, no coming back.

The Vision of seeing the avengers dead, sleepless and stressed state of mind since the attack on New York, telling Thanos he is his curse, the foreshadowing had been happening for over a decade and that finger from Strange confirmed it that he was gonna die before it even happened, I watched it with my family and at that moment everyone were confused and scared while I dropped back and sunk into the sofa, it hurts even more when you have seen Iron Man in 08 as a 9 year old and see him go through everything during your developing part of your life cycle until you see him fade away at 21 years old, still hurts like a 9 year old kid, just heartbroken.

3:06. "How did he do that?" When Tony fought Thanos, he didn't hit Thanos. He put both hands on the Infinity Gauntlet. The nanites in Tony's armor stole the stones. Thanos knocked Tony away by hitting him in the face. The nanites then made a new gauntlet on Tony's hand, and put the stones in it. That's why Thanos made a clank sound when he snapped his fingers. The infinity gauntlet was still on his hand, but w/o the stones inside, it was worthless.

I remember seeing this in theaters and knew the moment it revealed Tony took the stones he was gonna die. The snap nearly killed both Thanos and Hulk, to super powerful beings. Tony is just human, so i was already tryimg to prevent the tears as Thanos and his army was turning to dust

What I like about Tony's character is, even though Steve would attack his character, Tony was always willing to take the biggest risks for The Avengers, and for Earth. Had no problem sacrificing himself for the greater good.

This became the one time scenario that Strange was saying they would win when it was noticed that Thanos removed the power stone against Captain Marvel.... Strange and Stark saw this and this is why they won... Tony had to switch (remove) the stones and put them in his glove knowing.... it was the end game for him. Remmber Tony saw this happen in a vision...except he was alive. Tony never did anything but for himself so the irony here he did this for everybody. Strange saw this and knew what was to transpire from the muliple calculations (1 in 14M) he did on Thanos world.

In the end Thanos got what he wanted, just not the way he was expecting. He wanted to destroy half the universe’s population which he did with his snap in infinity war, but when tony snapped he destroyed half of the universe’s population that would seek to dominate and impose their will, while bringing back all those who died from the first snap. So in the end half the universe did get destroyed, just not the better half.

This isn't time travel. but Wanda caused the mind stone to explode and Thanos reversed it So? All the trees that got knocked down when it exploded stayed down. Everyone remembers it exploding. Only the condition of the target changes, not what it did. but, does it have to reverse the snap? like when Strange reversed the apple it was only the apple affected, the entire world did not reverse. and also when he came out of the reversing time as they watched the rest of the world reverse.. it seemed to be able to work on localized objects when they wanted it to. so is Tony not like the apple? and when Thanos reversed the stone did not reverse and time did not go backward for the rest of them, only the stone was put back together. Maybe it’s as simple as you can’t reverse the effects of using ALL the stones does to a body? The bigger question is why are you all arguing over something that literally can't happen like children? Same reason Strange didn't fly immediately over to Thanos, rewind him to a baby, and yet him into the sun. Time travel breaks plots and it's best not to think too much about it Also don't think about how Wanda is powered by a single stone and still slapped Thanos around when he had said stone. Also don't think about why Thanos didn't spawn an army of Hulks when he had the reality stone.
