1. Blade is not part of the Fox Marvel Universe, his films were released by New Line Cinemas which is owned by Warner Bros. 2. Gambit is a Cajun from New Orleans Louisiana and he's speaking Cajun English and Louisiana French. Fun fact is that Channing Tatum's Father is from the South and the Gambit accent is inspired by his Father's real life speaking voice.

There is Louisiana French and Cajun English. It's just the same in Canada. There are some areas where people speak mostly French and others where they speak Canadian French. So when some French migrated or were exiled, they kinda adapted there own version of the language. And also some speak Patois. Because I think even actual French people can't understand completely or it's a little difficult. The original X-Men animated series Gambit voice actor didn't even have that strong of an accent it was very subtle compared to what Channing Tatum did. And most people probably didn't realize that Channing could do a Louisiana Cajun accent. So it can be kind of weird and surprising for some the hear it, especially for the first time.

I can't believe how many of the reactors didn't know who Gambit is and that he's Cajun. Also, a lot of them somehow didn't watch the older Marvel movies from the late 90's and early 2000's. @SuperSayinSolidSnek I just don't understand why people would go and watch superhero movies if they didn't know about the world to begin with. If they didn't know the characters from the comics, what interest would they have watching movies with those characters. Maybe it's just me lol. I wouldn't be interested in watching a show or movie about a book series I hadn't read beforehand. I didn't watch Harry Potter until I read the books and understood the world. Same with Lord of the Rings, Preacher, Sandman, Game of Thrones, and others. But ok, they didn't know who she was. You're telling me they had never seen sais before? Not in a video game, show, movie, or my above example with Ninje Turtles. They tell you what the weapons are called multiple times during the show. If some of these people never watched TMNT, then why are they interested in watching a superhero movie? It's all in the same kind of nerdy realm that you kind of get into at a younger age and stick with. Were some of them only watching because it's popular? If so, that seems kind of lame and a waste of their time. I don't understand watching or getting into something because it's popular at the current time.

@@Uberstauffer different people like different things. I love anime but I've only ever read part of one manga and that was because the anime was taking a long time to finish and I really wanted to know how it ended without being spoiled by some random comment in a KZbin video or something. It's the same with a lot of one-off books as well. I think both true grit movies were really good, especially the Jeff Daniels one, but I never read the book. I enjoyed Jurassic Park even though I didn't read the book until much later in life. In short, most people just want to watch a entertaining movie, they don't necessarily need, or want to read hundreds of comic books beforehand to get caught up on lore.

For anyone who is as confused as most of these reactions about Gambit’s accent. Gambit is from New Orleans and is speaking a mix of Creole French and English. Channing’s accent is spot on for Gambit.

"Figgy", "Revengers", "Use his regular voice", "Lara Croft". Yeah sounded pretty retired to me. He tried playing that "Lara Croft" as a joke afterwards but you can hear in his voice he was for real.

I get people from other countries not recognizing a Cajun accent, but what is with Americans not getting it? Have so few people heard it before. And I'm not even a serious X-Men fan, but even I knew Remy LaBeau/Gambit was Cajun. It's kind of in the name.

Gambit is cajun, the accent for which is a complex mix of the deep Southern Louisiana accent and the French accent. Louisiana has a unique accent amongst the South as is, and the cajun community has a more complicated accent

I honestly don't know how that DJgames channel doesn't get nuked off the face of the planet - nearly every reaction I've ever seen from him is from a screener or webcam download. In fact, another channel in this round up looks like they were using a webcam as well but it's hard to tell since I think they watch it on a home screen.

It's funny how many people don't know who Electra is or Gambit, or even X-23. I mean, I know Gambit since X-Men Animated Series. And sometimes when you watch these reactions you wanna scream in to the screen that, that is that person from the comic book. I mean, I didn't know none of them, outside of Gambit, UNTIL I played Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. And since then I know all of them. And then the Blade trilogy.. oh man, what a memory. Blade movies is still cool. Now we need Ang Lee's Hulk, Nick Cage Ghostrider, original Fantastic 4 from back in the days and I'm gonna be happiest man alive.
