Reader's Delight

The Bookshop in Wigtown covers the Sugarhill Gang's song, Rapper's Delight.
The shop is Scotland's largest second-hand bookshop.

I'm here after reading the "reader's delight" mention in the book, so I thought to look for the said parody clip. I am so glad I did , since the bookshop and the characters , now got a completely new meaning . Everything just became more real if that's possible.

I got a job at a bookstore two months ago and within the first week found The Diary of a Bookseller in the biography section. It seemed appropriate to read it. That's an awful big bookshop considering the size on the outside. I think the entrance door is actually a mystical portal to some alternative realm, perhaps travelling to a land not strictly in Wigton or indeed Earth.

I had to close down my own second hand bookshop in Bury St. Edmunds a couple of years ago as sales had diminished to a point where it just was no longer profitable. Mind you, if I'd had premises the size of this, and stock of that quality and depth, things might have been different. Your shop looks just brilliant and I commend your style and joie de vivre! Keep bringing the written word to the people. More than a little envious....
