Nadine Farhat my friend does that, he's right handed but plays guitar left handed. It probably means you're naturally musically talented since you went to using your right brain to play music (the musical and creative side of your brain) by playing left handed

THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU are the first person to explain that the strings are strung with the G on bottom. I have had several people including a KZbin person say put the A at the bottom(lap side). That did not make any sense to me so, I would not put my strings that way. I just bought my Ukulele a couple of days ago and even the store I bought it from and had them restring it put the A on the bottom. Again, THANK YOU so much !!!!!

Its been two days that I bought my ukelele and started playing non-stop and always wondered why it sounds so different or the tune is out of place and then only today that I realised that the person who gave me the ukelele actually gave me a LEFT-HANDED ukelele.Im not mad that he gave me a left-handed uke since im also a lefty its just that Im mad for him because he didnt told me and Im mad at myself for not realizing soon enough. This is going to be such a huge challenge. I am hopelessly left-handed, but am playing with a third and fourth finger on the right hand that were broken at the base two years ago, making them very stiff indeed. And then having to flip the chord charts is doing my head in 😂😂😂😂. Damn I wish I was right-handed for the first time in my life!!

I have not restrung the ukulele but tuned it accordingly... have someone I am trying to teach that prefers a lefty way...I'm a righty and it boggles my mind...this helped me so much...gotta figure how to restring, for now, it's working but I guess not getting the best from the strings because they are not in their proper place?...have yet to figure that part out...but, the mirror thing works...so helpful!!

I would strongly advise you to restring as soon as possible. Each string has a certain thickness and made for a certain string tension. Just look at how they are attached to the uke and switch the top and bottom strings (G , A positions) and then switch the C and E strings.

Please upload some more lessons in left handed ukulele. Your video is helpful, I'm a beginner playing ukulele. and I have a question about the hand orientation of the ukulele. is it necessary to buy a left handed one or change the string order? Can I just simply flip the ukulele to the opposite position while playing. But I read some article saying that you’ll have no side dots on the fretboard to help guide you by just flipping the righty.

Would it be cheaper to buy a left handed uke or a right handed one and just have it serviced to be made left handed playable? I have been really wanting to play, and the sales people just tell me you have to teach yourself to play right handed. It sucks because they couldn't even give me an estimate.

miguel prado Go to a different store, if they can't get you a lefty uke or just simply change the strings out then you shouldn't be buying from them.

To make a right handed ukulele a left handed ukulele you restring it using the same strings that it came with. G C E A from top down . Switch the G for the A and the C for the E, one string at a time.

I'm a lefty and I bought a uke and I've been playing it for a couple of weeks now, and I've realised I've been playing a right handed uke, i play all the chords the same but when you normally would strum up, I strum down and I'm just scared to change to a left handed uke just incase it messes anything up

After my first experience at 16 being turned away from guitar lessons for being (gasp) left-handed, I've decided to try the ukulele. The store that sold me my uke knew I was left-handed but never suggested a LH ukulele. I had no idea they even existed. Now, I'm faced with the dilemma of learning to play RH, which didn't work, playing it upside down, which is fine but I'm taking group lessons and that was just too much. So, I restrung it, but I've just read an article that the perfect string placement for left-handed playing is EACG. Isn't that basically the same as just flipping it over? I'm confused

Yep. If you book get a right handed uke you simply reverse the order so that when you play it lefthanded the strings are still g, c, e, a from the top down

As long as your strings are GCEA from top to bottom you’ll be fine.

I actually find the mirroring really hard, until i get a mirror and play like that. I play guitar left handed, not very well, i have a simular problem with patterns. Maybe it's just me. My mother used to say that lefties arent allowed instruments, but Hendrix, McCartney, Cobain????

I don't understand why someone would not want their dominant hand doing the hard part, that is, on the fingerboard. Therefore, lefties have an advantage playing ukulele in the normal way. As I was teaching myself guitar at the age of 11, I was wishing I could use my right hand on the fingerboard.

Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else needs to find out about easy ukulele songs for beginners try Cypouris Amazing Uke Coach (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my brother in law got cool results with it.
