Reading EEPROM data from a BMW CAS 3 using Xhorse Mini Prog and Solder Free CAS 3 Adaptor

In this video we used the Xhorse Mini Prog and Xhorse Solder Free CAS 3 adaptor to read the EEPROM data on a BMW CAS 3 unit. It is a very quick and easy process that doesn't require loads of equipment.

Cool video. Just wondering what does CAS stand for again? And can this tool be used if I want to clone an ECU for a car. So if one car has faulty ecu, and i buy a good 2nd hand ecu can i reprogramme the emobilizer?

Hi Ali, you can then load into any of your devices, such as VVDI2 and make a key!

I am practicing with this adapter, on a CAS3(0L01Y). I can not get a pin connection on the RST, CLK, XCLKS. Do I still need to get the layer of lacquer off, to get a connection?
