One of my favorite writers, Joan Didion, wrote that "we are well-advised to keep on nodding terms with the people we used to be, whether we find them attractive company or not." It is quite endearing to see you keeping in touch with your younger self in this way; though, it is certainly embarrassing for you! The more deeply entrenched you become into your adulthood, the more valuable it will be to remember your inner child. My childhood Journals began at age six and were all lost in a move. I wish that those Journals from ages six-fourteen were still in my possession! I can never go back and read my old thoughts, feelings, and perceptions about life and the world around me. Your ability to do this is a blessing. ✍ 💚

Carrie, I have a purple diary with a unicorn and butterflies on it that I got in 4th grade at the book fair. I feel like that is the story for a lot of us who keep journals. But my point is, I also wrote a lot about being excited for my period and puberty, too! Its normal! It's funny because it's SOOO relatable!!! You're not weird!!! haha! 😁😅😉💕 PS- Also, I was so boy crazy that I would change the "name" of my diary based on the boy I liked.
