What a beautiful area you live in, Jaime! Enough can't be said for this railroad. So much community involvement and so much support from local citizens along this line. The horns echoing through the valleys remind me of the same sounds from RJ Corman bringing up coal from Pax along the Loup Creek Branch to Thurmond, WV🚂🚂🚂

Thanks so much! And Thurmond, WV is a place I definitely hope to visit one of these days.

Hey Dennis! Glad you enjoyed the video. I had no idea JP was riding the caboose until that day, and likewise he was equally surprised to find I was on the Bike Train. Fun times!

Great to see the F units in storage. So many have went to scrap.
@JamieMakin Жыл бұрын
It is great to see these ones saved. Even if they are just being stored, it's still better than scrapped.

Well, hmmmmmmmmm, that number 250 carries the paint scheme of the now very obsolete Rock Island Line, which at one time was, "a mighty fine line"..............

Nice video Jamie I hope R&N do something with those F units rather then keep them in storage as those F units where local to me when they were still owned by the SRNJ also the two former Reading Company FP7 that where at Steam Town have a new home with SMS Rail Lines and are going to be used for passenger excursions on the Woodstown Central Railroad🎉
@JamieMakin Жыл бұрын
I also hope that R&N can fix up those F units, but from what I've heard there's still no decision on that. For now they are just in storage, but I believe they are safe from being scrapped at least. I did hear about the Reading F units going to Woodstown. While I'm happy they will get used somewhere, I would have been happier to see them on the R&N. They would have looked right at home!

I like those old engines in storage, but in the condition they are in, there is something spooky about them. 🤔
@mlpderick Жыл бұрын
That was the condition they were in when the Reading and Northern purchased them from the Southern Railroad Of New Jersey they were sitting outside in Winslow Junction and heavily vandalized
@rosiemcnaughton9933 Жыл бұрын
@@mlpderick That is too bad. I've never understood those who feel the need to vandalize and destroy things. I hope the engines can be restored sometime, but there's a lot of work there!
@JamieMakin Жыл бұрын
I definitely hope they can be restored eventually. They do have an eerie look to them, but they've held up better here than they likely would at Winslow Junction. RBMN's RDC #9167 was transported from Winslow Junction at the same time as these F units. 9167 was running with the other RDCs last weekend in fact.

What will happen to 250 and 251 in the future?
@JamieMakin Жыл бұрын
For now they are just being stored. I'm pretty sure they won't be scrapped, but there's no word yet on whether they will be restored.
