The way you explained it is how every instructor should explain it. Thanks.

As a Brazilian I use the centimeters and meters as a unity of measurement. I was so afraid to not understand how the architectural scale would work in inches and feet and failing in college. I couldn’t even understand inches and feet imagine how it would work in different scales. However, after watching this video everything is clear! I’m so glad to have found this video on KZbin. I just want to say THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!

I'm not in a drafting class, but have always liked using the drafting rulers and thought it doesn't hurt to understand all the markings on it, so thks for posting.

Thank you for posting this helpful video. You may want to modify your 3/8" scale as there is an error on it - the even feet read 2,4,5,6. A student might be confused by that.

I'm having trouble understanding the different scaling systems. From what I've looked up, this is the imperial scaling system. Where can I find more information on scaling systems and how to read the other ones (like SI, or "unitless" or whatever). I looked up "Architects scale" on wikipedia and it's really confusing me. I don't get it when colons are used (ratios).

Drew Gage dude explain? I don't want to be wrong....
@vicsosa57037 жыл бұрын
Kevin Tower Where the 3/8 scale shows 5, it should be 6. The each line represents one foot starting from 0 going right. Meaning 14=1ft, 2=2ft, 13=3ft, 4=4ft, 12=5ft, so the number after 12 has to be 6ft not 5ft.
@vicsosa57037 жыл бұрын
Kevin Tower Pause it at 2:06 and then read my comment it'll make it easier to understand.
@erinh43616 жыл бұрын
Good catch, it was explained correctly just the scale was numbered incorrectly - I had to re-watch to see that, nice attention to detail Vic.

Your 3/8 scale is wrong. You have 0, 2, 4, 5, 6. Should be 0, 2, 4, 6, 8.

Well explain to me why you find it irritating. If anything, like I previously stated, it's helpful because you can focus on a specific part of the scale he's trying to show us throughout the video.
@Ferd19216 жыл бұрын
Plus, who even says "I don't suffer fools gladly"? What the fuck is that?
