Try reading lock every door by Riley sager . That one was good. She babysits this rich person apartment and stuff happens .

I felt the same way about The House Across the Lake. I didn’t think that main plot twist made much sense I was kinda disappointed 😅 thank you for letting us know about the triggers in None of this is True! I’m glad you enjoyed the books overall!!

I laughed so hard when you said “please don’t go in this weird direction!” Because that was my exact thought when I read The House Across the Lake. I would have expected that from Grady Hendrix but not necessarily from Riley Sager. It felt almost slight unfair that I wasn’t even really given an opportunity to guess the twist. It was just randomly tossed in there and by the end I was like “ok….what did I just read” 😂

I was so excited when I saw you posted this! I love your videos and Ian’s. My fiancé Ray and I are both obsessed with you guys. I felt the same way about The House Across the Lake. It had the potential to be really good but that plot twist I felt didn’t really vibe with the book. However I highly recommend The Only One Left. It’s my favorite book of all time now and I think you might enjoy that more. I still need to read Lisa Jewell’s book. It’s on my shelf and I do want to read it. Maybe I will this month. Both you and Ian have both inspired me to try some of the books that you’ve read that I haven’t. I can’t wait to get to them!

Hi Ashlynn! I read “Then She Was Gone” by Lisa Jewel and was slightly disturbed by it too. Not what I had in mind at all. I think her books may follow a darker path in general. Also I am loving your thriller series!!

Great video! My favorite thriller of all time is “The Silent Patient” you gotta check it out if you haven’t already! Also random point, and SPOILER WARNING FOR HOUSE ACROSS THE LAKE: I was excited for this book until I heard that it randomly turns paranormal which is such a bummer / weird thing to put your reader through when the book doesn’t start that way, I ended up not reading it at all and just watched full spoiler videos to see what happened lol. As a fellow Christian I personally steer fully clear of anything paranormal, but it’s hard if a book kinda tricks you into it lol. So thank u for your review and warning! Also I loved Paris apartment! But still, the silent patient is UNREAL

I have decided to try the Paris apartment because it’s in Paris and it has multiple pov’s. I have read ya thrillers or atleast I consider them thrillers like the Truly Devious series loved it. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series I really loved the first books and the last book was not as great for me and The Inheirtance series. The only thriller that I really liked because it had codes was the Davinci Code books and they took place in different locations. 😅

18:48 I just literally read it like not even kidding probably like a few days ago and I thought it was OK but I hate it know that I love it no I’m kind of different about it to be honest with you. I know Haley gave us such a high rating on Goodreads which is why I wanted to read it, however I think my preferences for thrillers are very different but I still want to continue reading his books because I thought it was a good book overall
