As a kid, The Giving Tree is just a cute story. As an adult, The Giving Tree is a crazy deep story about life and how we can never get enough or something of that nature... it truly is a marvelous story that has stood the test of time

Really gets to you when you realize once your childhood is over you’ll never experience such a great time in life anymore, I mean sure you’ll still have other great moments but a childhood was one of the most important ones

It’s crazy to me that I’m 17 and these were the picture books I grew up with. I guess it’s just a testament to their greatness.

My great grandmother Nana, use to read us The Giving Tree in the summer after a long day in the pool. This was my first experience with asmr. Her voice sent tingles from my head to toes. Wish she was here to read it to me again. I was so excited to see that you were going to read this! So many good memories ❤️

Reading these comments, it seems that so many people from all ages seem to remember these books, despite being published in the 60s. Children’s books like this are timeless classics, and have a power to affect all of us, no matter what year we were born in. I was born in 2002, and these were all books I read in elementary school that my teachers and parents read when they were in elementary school. No matter how much this world changes, I hope little stories never die out and continue to live on with future generations.

I remember going to the library and pick out these book's along with others. And would read it to my sister. My mother lacked in reading to us so I did. Later my little sister passed, they demolished the library and I grew up. Now I read to my son who is 5, And it takes me back. All worth it.

I dont know what there is after death, but I dont look forward to it. So living in the moment is crucial. But I need help, I need someone to tell me how to not shy away from opportunity and to not be sad.
