Hi! I’m a diagnosed autistic woman and the way you described your experience in the first few minutes is exactly how I feel and think. I try to the point of exhaustion to act and feel “correctly” when it concerns the feelings of other people (and even myself) and I’m still always missing something. So…take that as you will. Lol

Yes! I was like omg honey, you're neurodivergent! The way I clapped and spun when she said autism. I'm autistic too.

As a mother of a child on the spectrum. I understand to an extent what you mean and how you feel. It would break my heart to see other kids misinterpret my son's words or intentions and reject him or try to bully him. But after talking with him, his school, and getting him speech therapy things have greatly improved! I hope people learn to be Kinder towards others and give grace ❤

omg Elizabeth, I relate so much to your intro... people taking things the wrong way.. assuming something negative. feeling like I have to defend myself. Think I'm just awkward lol. I am also not diagnosed but I've taken a lot of tests, and being on the spectrum totally makes sense for me. Like you, it was like something just clicked.

Yes! I think there are so many of us running around. Grown adults, trying to figure out why we feel so off from most people.

Girl I relate sooo much to your ideas in the beginning of this video. I dissect everything in society so much, nonstop. I suspect it’s why we love reading these types of books!

I was diagnosed with dyscalculia as an adult and you’re SO RIGHT. It’s so expensive… but honestly… I found it so so worth it in the end. It feels like everything about me that I didn’t understand makes sense now.

A little bummed you weren’t obsessed with Delicate Condition, it is my favorite book of the year. I don’t think I’ve ever cried as much as I did when I read that book. I’ve never read such a wonderful depiction of the gaslighting that happens to women, especially in the medical world. If you didn’t read the authors note you definitely should. I’m so passionate about this book 😂 I almost didn’t care what happened in it it just spoke to me in a way I’ve never experienced before

That’s so great! I did not read the authors note. It wasn’t included in the audio to my recollection. I usually am happy to listen if it is. I’ll look for it when I get a hard copy.
