First of all, really appreciate you spending your time reading all of our comments! I would like to expand on my previous comment. I first started playing BDO I think around a year after NA release; right after ranger shotgun got nerfed. (Every other person was telling me “they just nerfed your class”) I was in school back then and had very limited time to play. There were a few reasons why I hated PvP in BDO. The most prominent one is griefers. I’m talking about feeding to mobs, karma bombing, etc. I don’t know if it was my luck, but literally every other person who flagged me tried to feed me to mobs. Maybe because they didn’t want to lose karma. It’s really confusing to me. Does PA want to encourage PvP? Then why is karma a thing? I wouldn’t mind PvP nearly as much if I didn’t lose so many crystals to griefers feeding me to mobs. And in the early sausan days there was a witch or wizard who just spawn camped me for an hour for no apparent reason. Maybe he was trying to get negative karma to downgrade his reblath? These experiences combined just makes me (someone who already dislikes PvP) absolutely hate PvP in bdo. Sure, there were fun times every once in a while when our guild or friend group would gather to defend a grind spot. But that was so rare. Happened maybe once a month, compared to being griefed every other day. I actually liked rbf, and I still do. But the thought of having to spend months gearing for it just instantly makes me give up. I actually like medium sized PvP when I’m looking for it. Node wars are too chaotic for my liking, and I don’t like duels or 3v3. Rbf would be perfect for someone like me, except for the thousands of hours of prerequisite grinding. So naturally, I also tried grinding for gear; for rbf. What did I get in return? Losing crystals to griefers, wasting buffs, and wasting time. I don’t know if it’s my luck or if it’s the NA server, or if you’ve never actually tried a low end spot. But I got griefed regardless. Of course they couldn’t feed me to mobs, so now they were just grinding on top of me. Players a lot more geared than I was. It was during these times our guild or friend group would occasionally gather to defend grind spots. Oh and then inf pots happened. And soon after that I quit, couldn’t handle the “end game” players flooding even the low tier grind spots. They can definitely fix PvP. A lot of what Choice said would indeed make PvP way better. Like having a separate gear tab for PvP gear, so when you PvP you automatically use the PvP gear, instead of having to swap. Make rbf give a reasonable payout so people can progress just doing rbf. Currently it’s 50mil per win. That’s like 150mil/hr. Also I don’t know if they’ve done anything to fix it, but remove feeding to mobs and loosing crystals and exp. Remove karma, or do something about the karma bombers. Let us pause or swap buffs, like what we already have for loot scrolls. Instead of fixing the toxicity in PvP, their solution was to kill it. I like the current state of the game because to me, it’s at least better than before.

​@@kevinwang7894 the state of gear progression at early time of the game is too bloody. it was supposed to be fix just the way they did at current but now there are abundant of grinding spot where anywhere can get a lot of silver. they should bring back one sided dec for pvp competition. yes it may cause conflict for those lifeskill and exclusive pve but it's one way for pvp guilds to fight against another pvp guilds without certain punishable limits. in my experience i have been bully a lot but I've tried to fight back. anyway it's sandbox game so i already expected what supposed to be in sandbox. one thing I've been thinking about fixing the oil and water conflict between pvp and pve is that give restrictions on pve guild and give a temporary halting time if the pve guild member wish to join pvp. pvp guild can freely dec another warring guild and those who are owning territory can be treat as hostile to another owner territory. same as pure lifeskill guild if they wish to go pvp guild, give them halting time. remove merc system for pve and lifeskill guild.

BDO change form a slaughter fest to a chill PVE grinder 5-6 years ago. It's the only reason I stuck to the game for so long and dident just get convinced to lifeskill for a few weeks by my friends then quit when someone murders me repetedly when i gather. Yes the game have changed but the change happend years ago not recently. and there's no reason why BDO cant do the same as POE or overwatch and let the ptw stuff carry over (to the extent it's possible)

Always crazy to see how every streamer talks about “the small pvp community” yet pvp players leaving got a huge impact and most people can relate to the pvp issues. Imo the “pvp pvx community is bigger than the “pve bots only” community of the game.

I think you have a huge on and off casual PvE only player base that every time then get the urge to play with the combat log on/reinstall and play for a bit, then you have a super hardcore and dedicated veteran PvP community, which is much harder to replace and is far more noticeable when they stop playing

@@Anfieldw in my opinion the player base who is ok with open world PvP is far greater than the player who despises it. BDO got a ton of people who are not “full PvP fanatics” but do enjoy some random PvP sometimes. The main issue with open world PvP are crystal setups and the insane value of buffs like J scrolls, Afros coins, expensive AF buff foods etc. you’re loosing a lot if you randomly engage in open world PvP The problem is open world PvP is very important bc it ffeeds the GvGs that feed the node scene that feeds the siege scene. Without open world u get no “competition”

at 18:14 your on about seeing floating damage numbers. i knew a guy who could actually pull this from the game and he would occasionally use it for testing. its obviously possible and can be done client side. he would get what was essentially a little print out by pulling the data packets. i dont really understand it but i have seen the numbers. so it is easy to make that data into floating numbers. they just dont listen to us.

when it comes to khara and sovereign, i do believe they become tradeable at some point. they probably just know how little new content the game has had for a while and how long it will take to release something new to do, so they want everyone on that mousewheel for a while so they have something to do in the game.

The pvp-pve relationship can be pretty complex. I'm personally a bit mid at pvp, but I like the risk when pveing, which also promotes leveling up my gear. We should have to sometimes pvp for the right to pve our grind spots, and pve our grind spots to be able to upgrade our gear and pvp for the right.

People missed the part where we are indeed getting a BDO 2? PA said that they are remaking the map in the past (as in the past of the BDO world) Depending how they handle this, they may have the opportunity to make more underlying changes to the game in that new version. I think it sounds very ambitious, but this could be promising.

That is interesting for people like me who love the lore; but most people won't care for that. I think it will be more significant.

Like I have expressed countless times on this doomer topic... Killing NW's and GvG's was fucked up, I'm a PvE'r and a life-skiller, and I can understand the frustration on this topic, I always compare it to: "what if one day PA decides that Lifeskill is irrelevant and kills it for good?" that'd be fucked up for me, so I can relate to how PvP'rs feel about recent changes that PA has done to the game... HOWEVER I will always defend and agree with the OWPvP (aka Karma) changes, because the game got to a point where you could waste hundreds of millions of silver on buffs just because a b*tch ahh punk decided that he would take you spot just because, and worst is most times they didn't even want the spot, they were there just to kill you over...and over...and over...and over again. So yeah, plasea PA, give PvP'rs actual good PvP modes that they can enjoy AS LONG as they don't keep asking to bring back toxicity and harassment to players who DON'T WANT TO DO PVP...PERIOD. Other than that PvP'ers should 100% get their feedback heard about AoS, GvG, RBF, NW's and all PvP-related modes. Just KEEP . YOUR . PVP . OUT .OF . PvE . & . LIFESKILL . PLAYERS. Just think about it this way, you enjoy PvP a hell a lot, imagine if PA one day decided "yeah in order to do PvP you gonna be FORCED to do PvE and Lifeskill on a daily basis for as much time as we want" That's exactly how PvE'rs see this, why if I want to just grind and make some gainz for whatever reason, I have to be forced to be harassed constantly. (and yeah I get we have marni's but at this point 1hour every another hour isn't enough and ya'll dang know it). So yeah, TLDR: Fix PvP for the PvP lads, but keep it out of us PvE'rs and Lifeskillers game experience.

Lower limit of karma being dropped to -10 million seems so arbitrary and ridiculous tbh. Karma recovery being nerfed is also stupid, they really want red players to stay red.

for me the dec changes is fine, because let's be real here, people just want to stomp gearlet players rather than fighting against people around their gs. this is how i feel when i started playing back in 2021, had to leave guild until i have gear to fight back. problem with bdo pvp outside the capped pvp content like AoS and T1 NW most of them are not accessible for everyone especially for new players, the ceiling is just too high you need to do thousand hrs of mobs killing to be able to go up against geared players in uncapped pvp content. this is why people asking for good rewards for pvp, so they can pvp and progressing at the same time. people want to pvp but they don't have gear and they don't want to waste their time and silver. pvp is not dead because the game don't have good pvp content, pvp is dead because you don't have people to pvp. you need people to pvp, but the people need gear to pvp. but sadly the ceiling is too high hence nobody is pvping only pve. look at BDO china they have 50++ guilds in T1~T3 NW, pvp is popping off there, because everyone is still on the same or at least close to each other in terms of gs. ( sorry for my bad english, english is my 4th language )

Im at the point where I know bdo won't be 'as pvp as before', the people who used to play this game, the one that are running around and stomp gearlet are no longer here, or converted into carebear, myself included, and I guess I'm fine with that as long as they gave us more good pve mode. Grinding is a never a new content, it just dumb when they announce 'new grinding zone' like wtf, grinding used to be something people do to reach certain point, now the point are no longer relevant, adding more grinding zone is a dumb move, just buff the existing one and work on something else. More dungeon, more blitz boss, more group content, make it more relevant or at least as relevant as grinding, because as it's stands now grinding is way profitable than anything. Also I remember last year calpheon ball they said they want to make pvp more relevant in a way that people can earn money from pvp, another ball another bs.

Atho i havent PVPd in BDO much. I cetrainly know this is a pvp game. If the pvp was more enjoyable for me i would cetrainly join in. (i do pvp in other games). And PVP should be part of BDO. If they do make pvp make money. They should make you go out into the world for it. I dont like the idea of people sitting in some village qeueing up for instanced pvp.

Whats' happening with Black Desert is nothing new, Its been common in the games industry for the past 20 years. A new game puts alot of empasis on being a PVP game when released, they draw in a good number of PVP players. Then when the game reaches the mainstream it draws in a higher number of PVE only players. By this time profits take over and the game is changed to prioritise the larger PVE only player base. Look at any of the sucessful MMOs in the past 20 years and you will see similarities. Personally I'm a PVE only player, I never play MMO's when they first come out, I usually join after they have been out for 4-5 years, by that time the game is being changed to a more PVE focused game. Unfortunately nothing is going to change, it always comes down to money. I dont hate PVP, but i don't generally enjoy it in any games I play. Once PA fully realise the significance of losing all the PVP players they will come up with some sort of solution to try and draw the players back in. I wouldn't be suprised to see PVP servers or the current version becoming 2.0 and then an old school version being released with the old pvp the way the older player base enjoyed it. Naturally those players will need to start a new account and pay for that privilidge.

Just roll back the game to 2016.. literally everything, that way, PVP will return. Time to remove 99% of the games infrastructure, removing all of the gear bloat and remove all but the Original Classes. Max +15 Gear, No Boss Gear, No Central Market, not even remastered mode and make Level 55 the Soft cap again. The Game is far too large now and too few players to fill it up and battle over resources. Remove Life Skilling 100%, Remove 90% of the PVE Material. Make it a 100% PVP Game, like it was designed and meant to be. Remove the Garbage, and make it PVP only, No Levels, No Life Skill Gear, nothing. That is what the community wants. Those that dont want this, Just leave the Game already.

BDO is bloated with currencies and tokens. They do events that are incredibly boring and bloat the game even more. They should focus on major key new things and remove the ridiculous amount of stuff that is only used to craft or buy other stuff.. or smash together with other stuff. 🤮 I also completely ignore PvP. I don't mind nor pay attention to anything PvP.
