Last time they did it was when grams was young(first scene) the skelton in that coop was also grams husband that died at the beginning. There are so many symbols in this movie that were missed. They were devil worshipers and her name was Grace. They spent the whole movie trying to find "Grace" but in the end, Grace prevailed. Her husband only exploded after she said she wanted a divorce and took her ring off. If he wouldn't stayed on her side and helped her live, his soul would've been redeemed, so he wouldn't have died but the rest of his family would've and they could've lived happily ever after

But the final ending takes her asking for a divorce as not just a funny moment, but maybe even a plot moment that makes her safe from exploding like her brand-new ex-in-laws. It's clear Obviously Satan™️ respects her when you see his fiery visage nods to her before disappearing. So, I guess he decided she'd earned her survival.
