In Infinity War we're told that he was exiled from his planet and it eventually died out from overpopulation, but in the comics his parents were actually eternals and he was abandoned because of his deformities, so he went and destroyed his home planet as revenge. You are wrong. Infinity War did not portray Thanos as a comic villain accurately. Comic book Thanos is on par with Darkseid as a villain, but instead the MCU turned him into an anti-villain and rushed to finally make him laughably "evil" in Endgame.

@@bonehead156 Well, some comics certainly have had garbage showings for Darkseid, but I think an alliance of gods, Amazons, Atlanteans, Green Lanterns and men is a good enough opponent to drive Darkseid back. Also, Zeus is hardly primitive. Greek civilization was pretty much the pinnacle of human achievement for thousands of years after they'd passed their peak. I prefer the Darkseid that slaps Superman around like a chump, but this isn't bad. It wouldn't make sense for him to jump through the portal. He almost always works through minions when he can, rather than doing the bitch work himself.

The idea that you would play light on a genocidal alien that nearly destroyed the earth isn't necessarily the same as not killing your own brother.
