Something else missing from today’s political climate - While President Reagan spoke, everyone was silent, showing respect and allowing him to speak. Then everyone laughed and enjoyed the joke together. We weren’t all enemies of each other back then.

Our greatest president ever. Go watch the REAGAN movie. Dennis Quaid is fantastic as Reagan. At times you would think that it is Reagan in the flesh. I do think that some scenes are under played. The scene with Reagan as a lifeguard, is under played. Paul Harvey had a radio segment about Reagan as a lifeguard that sums up our greatest president perfectly.

Today the press would replay the "I will campaign in all 13 states" sentence (leaving out the context of the joke) while stating it is proof he is senile!!!

Reagan, Mitterrand and Brezhnev get together and start arguing about who will make the cat eat the mustard more effectively. Reagan pinches the cat, opens its mouth and puts a spoonful of mustard in it. A position of strength is necessary, he says. Mitterrand takes a piece of meat, puts mustard in it and gives it to the cat. The cat takes it, eats it, sniffs something, frowns, but it's too late - the mustard is eaten. You have to be diplomatic, he says. Brezhnev takes the cat, smears mustard under its tail. The cat screams and licks it. Brezhnev: - That's how it should be - voluntarily and with songs!

Hello... I am insulting president Reagan, in fact I think his one of the best presidents... But since I am American, I don't really understand, Americans humor... So... my question is this: What was the funny thing about the line: "I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience," Why did they laugh all of a sudden? I really want to know, i want to use it more often if I can. Thanks
