Recruiters are always hilarious when they try to talk anything technology related. You know the only "technologies" they ever use are Microsoft Excel and Word. You're also right about standing your ground... very true especially regarding salary/lifestyle because if you don't you'll end up stuck with a job you hate.

Pretty much every recruiter I get emails from or talk to are utterly clueless. Usually, their previous job was being a server at AppleBee's. I also love when recruiters tell me "If you know anyone in your network, please have them reach out to me". I then say "Sure, once you help me to optimize this algorithm I am working on to run in NLogN time instead of N^2, then I would consider helping you. I mean, you just literally asked me to do your job for you."

This urgs me so badly. I always get that too. "Well if you know anyone" so you want me to do your job so you can collect commissions on my work? Fucking joke man.

hey Joshua, I'm curious about why you ask if it's a contract to hire vs. a full time role. I'm fresh out of college and I'm wondering what your views are on the two, is one better than the other in your opinion? if so why?
@JoshuaFluke16 жыл бұрын
@@MrMLBson09 Contract means your job has an expiration date. Contract to hire means you are working for the recruiting company for x amount of months, and if you're lucky the company will hire you at the end of it. Full time skips all of that and puts you straight with the company.

In my experience recruiters are pretty useless. Had a much easier and more pleasant time applying directly through the companies/agencies I want to work for. Recruiters will ask your salary range and then you tell them and they'll proceed to send you job offers for jobs paying like 20K less than what you told them.
@ViridianCityCards Жыл бұрын
Globs is why I only ever get my jobs directly and never use recruiters. The one time I did use a recruiter, the job sucked and I left in a month.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but are you thinking of ReactPHP instead of ReactJS? I don't really get why a recruiter saying Angular is "similar in some ways" to React surprised you. They are similar.
